Wearing wigs has long been a way for anyone to experiment with new hairstyles, colors, and looks. But, let's be serious, whether you're a seasoned pro or a newbie to wearing wigs, it can be a very intimidating process. Especially if you're getting said wig online.
First up, Joyce tried the Entranced Styles short wavy bob wig with bangs and NGL, it's a pretty cute haircut! But, at its under-$20 price point, I think the fear for anyone is what it'll look and feel like IRL. Well, spoiler alert, this ended up being Joyce's favorite wig — even compared to the nearly $200 wig she tried! It delivered on the cottage-core look she was trying to achieve and based on how good it looks on her, I'm about ready to buy one for myself.
Next Megan tried the super long Hua Mian Li wavy wig with bangs. This is a synthetic wig that's just a really pretty purple shade but as is pointed out, when you're wearing it it's very clearly a wig. Megan ended up throwing a beanie on top of it to cover up the obviousness and gave it a 5/5, but not because it's the most amazing wig she's ever seen but rather because at under $20 it delivers on everything it promises.
Jumping up to the $80-ish price category, Joyce tried Alibeauty's lace curly wig with bangs that's made of 100% human hair. It's a super curly look that can potentially add a ton of volume. But ultimately, this was Joyce's least favorite wig because it just failed to live up to what she had envisioned it would look like on her.
For Megan's mid-price point selection, we traveled back to 1999 and borrowed Rachael Leigh Cook's iconic hairstyle. She tried (and loved) the Nadula lace front bob wig with bangs. This wig is also made with human hair and was so incredibly soft.
For her highest price-point wig, Joyce went with an ombre blonde lace front human hair wig which is a gorgeous flowing mane of hair with every detail figured out — from perfectly placed baby hairs to the perfect color job.
And finally, Megan went with the blue Domido lace front wig for a gorgeous and subtle pop of color — she adds to the look by curling the hair and as someone who can't ever get their hair to keep a curl, that just made me want the wig more.
In the end, Joyce ranked the cheapest wig as her favorite, and, just being honest with you, I've already bought it because at under $20 it's a great way for me to start my wig journey.
Megan picked the elegant blue wig as her number one pick, its investment-worthy price seems to be well worth it in her eyes.
