Pony Cabinet Claw great from do-it-yourselfer
Installed kitchen cabinets myself. Can't imagine lining up my kitchen cabinet face frames and getting the pilot holes straight and perpendicular without these. The guide hole in the side of the claw took a lot of worry out of it for me.

Great Tool
I am not a professional cabinet installer. I have done a few installations for remodeling jobs in my home and the homes of friends. I am also an avid amateur woodworker. For that reason I own a ton of different types of clamps. In the past I always used either "F" style or wooden hand-screws to hold the cabinets together for joining. This past winter my wife and I turned our bonus room into an art studio for her. The remodeling called for the installation of several cabinets along 2 walls. Since I would largely be working by myself I decided to invest in a pair of Pony Cabinet Claws. Wow, these things are game changers. I strongly recommend them.

Can't beat these for installing cabinets
I purchased the Pony 8510BP Cabinet Claw (2-Pack) of clamps from Amazon for a massive kitchen cabinet installation project I decided to take on with the help of my brother-in-law. Although it took them the full five business days to arrive, they made it just in time for my big project. I used them to hold together the cabinets while we attached adjacent cabinets to each other. They worked flawlessly and made the job much easier and probably more professional than if I had used standard clamps. I am so thankful I decided to purchase these and highly recommend them for anyone considering installing cabinets whether you are amateurs like us or professionals. You won't regret it. DougO

Pony clamps - worth the money
As a homeowner and avid do-it-yourselfer I found these the be well constructed, strong and easy to use. I have only one suggestion. The pilot holes feature a guide to start the hole before using the larger countersink bit. This guide has a small ball-bearing detent to center it but it doesn't quite center it. You have to take a little extra care to make sure it is centered. I marked the clamp and guide to make sure it was centered each time before I used the starter bit. Additionally the countersink bit would not fit entirely into the hole, forcing me to move the clamp to finish the hole. I had to leave one clamp In place while I did this to keep the cabinets aligned and move the clamp and check the alignment to finish the countersink. It's not bad but requires care and planning. Still, I like the clamps.

So awesome
If you are hanging cabinets (more than one in a row), then you need these! These little clamps worked so slick to even things up and line them up. There is even holes in the sides to guide a drill bit through the face frames nice and straight so there are no errors and end up blowing out the sides because you got too close with your hole. Great idea that made my life much easier installing my cabinets. Even my Dad, who has installed many cabinets over the years commented on how he wished he had a pair of these years ago, and trust me that says a lot.

Great Help
This makes lining up cabinets a breeze. I loaned them out several times already and everyone says the same thing - it makes hanging cabinets, especially uppers, much easier. I remodeled my kitchen and these allowed me to both pull the cabinets together tightly as well as flush at the face. After getting them flush/tight, you drill a pilot then pop in a screw and you are good to go (mount to wall of course). Great tool for the money, for a DIY'er or pro. You could get away without using it, but why would you want to.

Very Good Clamps
I bought a pair of these clamps when I was about to start some cabinet installation work. They are used in aligning two cabinets with face frames and keeping them pulled together (so they can be joined) and keeping the faces flush with one another. These clamps did an Excellent job for me. Pony makes some good products, but I was always wanting some of these. They didn't mar the face frame surfaces, they pulled the faces together and kept them flush once I made the necessary adjustments. I highly recommend these clamps for anyone who builds or installs cabinets, as well as for the do-it-yourselfer. As far as I am concerned, there are no downsides to these clamps. 5 stars from me, again!

but they don't allign the faces like these do
I was renovating my kitchen and after some research I settled on these clamps. I already have several of the irwin quick grip clamps, but they don't allign the faces like these do. Also, the hole in the side that you can drill and screw through it a great little invention that really makes these a breeze to use while installing cabinets.

Cabinet claws primo
I had always hung face frame boxes with Jorgesen Clamps and bar clamps. Neither of these solve the issue of aligning both the faces and the vertical frames, but the claws do with some limitation--they cannot resolve angled installs of corner cabinets. I recently installed a set of Hickory cabinets, a species that, while it is relatively warp resistant, is also very resistant to attmepts to straighten what bows do happen. The claws worked very well, though I would suggest either a better gearing ratio and/or larger grips would make the effort more sucessful. The next Euroboxes I hang will be done with the European version of the clamps!

Essential clamps for kitchen cabinet installation
If you are considering these clamps, you can rest assured that they work quite well and there are really no other products like them on the market that I know of. They even come with a drill bit. I have used mine already about two dozen times and always with excellent results. I think these clamps are one of the little pro secrets for doing kitchen cabinets. You just line up your face frames, apply both clamps where you want them, and then drill your pilot hole using the guide built into the clamp. Then swing the guide out of the way and screw in a 2 1/2 inch narrow head decking screw. I used the star drive ones that cost about $12 per hundred and they were well worth it. And here's another tip...dip your screws into some paste wax before screwing in so that the threads do not bind on the hard wood (assuming you're working with oak, maple or cherry hard woods). Great product and just get them now and you will be delighted.
