I've seen this Oxo tool on many different cooking shows on TV. I looked in various big department stores for it, plus a famous kitchen store, but no one had it, so I ordered it from Amazon. It came in the mail yesterday, and I was very surprised how thick and heavy duty the stainless steel scraper is! There's even an inches scales engraved into it!! This will make my life so much easier, as I do a lot of cooking at home. The handle is heavy duty also. I'm always cutting up something, and using the back of a knife to try to scrape up onions, garlic, carrots, celery, etc, was time consuming. I can't wait to use this scraper when I make dinner tonight!!

OXO bench scraper, made in China. The grade of stainless steel is not identified, but the weight of this tool feels strong. The rubber handle is comfortable in my hand...I have big hands with a basketball size stretch. Dishwasher safe, just the way I like it. The one inch markings along the edge of the six inch blade is handy for quick measuring during food preparation. I'm very happy with this purchase.

My wife loves this. She wanted something to help cut dough when making bread and this has worked perfectly. She likes the etched in measurements and really enjoys the quality of OXO products. We have many OXO products in our home and they are comfortable to hold, sturdy design and haven't ever had any problems with our OXO products. Great brand. Would definitely recommend this product and other OXO products to everyone. Paid full price for this product and it was well worth the purchase.

I have RA....so this is great for scooping up chopped veggies and meat. The chopping is another story..... I have used it to scoop onions, garlic, celery, etc. It is a must have to save the sharp edge of your knife. I also have used it to make yeast rolls. It cut the dough and did not stick. It have measurements to help cut the dough in pieces or you can use it to slice cookies that have been rolled and chilled, or the frozen cookie dough kind...I liked it so much I got one for my 80 something mother and she loves it!!

I've had this bench scraper for just under a year now and have put it to nearly-daily use during that time in a commercial bakery/pastry kitchen, so can account for its ability to take a beating in a variety of applications and look good doing it. Its edge is cut super straight, no weird bowing to it, which might not seem like a huge deal until you think about how it *could* be subpar and always make slightly-rounded cuts or the kind of cuts that don't go all the way through in the middle - but it's a gem and does neither of those things. As other reviewers mention, the etched-in (won't ever wash away with scrubbing) measurement markings are extra useful for repeatedly slicing things the same size: "He got the bigger lemon bar!" "They're all exactly the same." And the handle is massive and non-slip, so even when you're elbow deep in ganache during tabling, you're not going to lose your grip on your tool. Compliment this item with a 50-cent plastic hand scraper and you're much of the way to the perfectly-stocked pastry kitchen.

I don't know how I survived so long without one of these. I use it at least once a week. If I need to divide dough for rolls, this works great, whether its a sticky wet sourdough, a rich heavy cinnamon roll dough, or a simple white bread. If pie dough start sticking to the surface, I pull this out and can remedy the problem without tearing the dough. When I'm making biscuits, I use this to fold the dough so I don't end up with ten pounds of flour stuck to my fingers. I would highly recommend this to anyone who does a lot of baking.

"Pish posh, another gadget," I sniffed when I saw this scraper/chopper. For years I struggled with metal spatulas and butter knives cutting all sorts of foods thinking that was just the way things had to be. How very wrong I was. I purchased this scraper/chopper on a whim and when it arrived I immediately noticed that it's a really nice size. The molded handle fits comfortably in the hand and gives me the leverage I need to cut things in pans. The blade is heavier than I was expecting, it doesn't flex at all and has a slight tapered edge to bite through the toughest baked goods. Best of all, it works like a charm. I was able to cut things up in a fraction of the time and I didn't end up with tons of food gunking up the blade messing up subsequent cuts. This is a very handy tool and I would recommend it to anyone who cooks.

I knew I'd need this someday, but didn't realize how often I'd reach for it. I recently made petit fours and could not have asked for a better kitchen tool to help me along the way. The ruler is so handy when aiming for uniformity in pastries. It is a tall tool, so I was able to cut through multiple layers easily. It cuts cleanly and is sharp enough to do so without being so sharp that you have to watch your fingers. The grip is very comfortable. The blade is thin enough that I will use this when trying to get too-tacky pie dough off a surface. I would not use this for cutting hard vegetables. It is not meant to be used as a knife. The metal is thin enough to be useful on delicate cooking projects, while maintaining a straight edge and never bending. I highly recommend getting one of these to add to your kitchen tool arsenal. You'll undoubtedly find a use.

I bought this OXO Good Grips scraper based on a recommendation from Cook's Illustrated America's Test Kitchen, after I tried America's Test Kitchen's other recommendation from Dexter-Russell. This OXO Good grips scraper is perfect. The handle is perfectly shaped to fit your hand well and comfortably. I also like the handle has a rubber, non-slip feel. The blade is also perfect, and has a nicely tapered edge. There are no worries here about any bent or sticking up edges that might scratch my countertop. Also, I like the etched in ruler on the blade as well. I've tried a few other scrapers, and you would be doing yourself a disservice by going with anything other than this one by OXO Good Grips.

I'm a bit of a kitchen-tool-fanatic and collect kitchen gadgets like some people collect Beanie Babies. But this little gem definitely gets used far more than most! I could go on and on about its wonders, but I'll limit myself to two: 1) Fantastic for cleaning up the countertops, especially when they are all sticky with dough and flour. Doesn't scratch the countertops (and I have cheap laminate countertops) and scrapes all the gunk off with a minimum of effort. 2) Hands down the BEST tool for working with bread dough. I love making homemade rolls. After kneading the dough, this little chopper works wonders for separating the dough into roll-sized balls. It's so much better than cutting it with a knife or twisting off portions of dough from the main lump. It cleanly slices through the dough, not sticking to it, and makes short work of separating one big ball of dough into fifteen little roll-sized balls. Really a wonderful tool!
