My grandmother had these when I was little and I have been wanting a set of my own. These are amazing and work just like I expect them too. I did give them a quick wash since they are ceramic and tend to leave a little dust. This doesn't bother me like I think it did for some of the other reviewers. Overall, these have worked great so far and hopefully they will for years to come.

I recently made a deep-dish apple pie and needed pie weights so I could blind bake the bottom crust. (Blind baking keeps a bottom crust from getting soggy.) The recipe said the pie weights should cover the base of the crust (7" bottom diameter) and come up the sides of the pie pan a little bit to ensure that the bottom crust is pressed against the tin while blind baking. There were not enough pie weights in a single box of these to completely cover the bottom, and thus also not enough to come up the sides of the tin at all. However, I like these pie weights (even heat, easy to clean and store, no odor, last forever), so I plan to buy more of them to solve that problem.

I had never used these before reading all the good reviews. Usually just use beans. But these little items clean up nice and did the job great for me. The plastic container they come in is not reusuable. I just put them in a cleaned up cottage cheese container. Highly recommend this product for all those avid bakers out there.

They do as they say. Great price. Probably goes without saying but wash them before you use them the first time as there is a lot of white powder that washes off.

These made my crust come out exactly as I wanted them to be without having to punch holes in the crust. I would suggest letting them cool before they're returned to the container also they rinse off very well with just plain warm water for cleaning after use. I also put aluminum foil on top of the pie crust before I put the pie weights in, this keeps them from sticking to the crust.

My dad mentioned wanting to buy these for himself but, he never did. I ordered these for him as a Christmas gift and he loved them. He used them to make pies for Christmas dinner.

I have to use the contents of 2 packages of the ceramic pie weights for good results. After fitting the unbaked pastry into the pie plate I prick the pastry with a fork, place a piece of foil on top, then add the weights so they will not stick to the pastry and have to be washed. I bake this in a preheated oven at 450 degrees F. for 6 minutes. I then carefully remove the foil and weights together and gently place them in a metal bowl to cool. I continue baking the pie crust for about 8-9 minutes until it is "golden brown." Results have been excellent. I gleaned all of these tips from others and I'm truly grateful!

I use several packages of these to really fill up my pastry shell. It’s helps a softer, all-butter crust not slump. They’ll last forever.

Enough of these baking beads for 1 Tart crust or Pie Crust. Easy to clean. Super simple to use . Came in a nice little plastic container for storage after use.

It came in coated with a white powdery substance? But a quick wash and it was good. Might want to buy 2-3 more boxes of these if you plan on making a 12" tart.
