Scotch brands always seem to perform a little better than the knockoffs. It's not a huge difference, but when I want the best quality, I go for Scotch. I like this tape because it's one of the widest I could find and provides excellent coverage. Unlike knockoffs, the Scotch always seems to pull up clean without leaving any residue.

Legendary Scotch painters tape really comes through. I leave this on much longer than recommended and remove it way past suggested time periods (not on purpose but sometimes have to get months of other stuff done before getting back to the project) and tape lifts off without damage to under surface or covered surface. This is on/over old polly'd wood. Has never damaged the wood nor it's coating. Won't say how long I've left this stuff on because you wouldn't believe it.

Works great as long as you remember to run your fingernail along the edge before painting. Mostly comes off on the first pull if you don’t wait for it to fully dry, and it’s not a nightmare to pick off the few remaining pieces. This is my first time using the wider tape, and overall I liked it. It’s naturally harder to go around tight circles, like the doorknobs, but having the extra width saved me from panic cleaning a couple of times.

I have purchased this tape multiple times to use for a variety of wall/trim paint projects around our condo. It does an amazing job in holding to surfaces firmly without concern of damaging nor peeling when removing, even after extended periods of application. The tape does well to allow for clean lines without concerns of any paint bleeding through the edges. I have used the tape on walls, wood trim, metal window frames, carpet, etc. and the tape has performed incredibly well every time, standing up to plenty of traffic and wear during the course of projects. I made the mistake at one point of opting to use the marginally less expensive in-house Home Depot painter's tape and could not have regretted it more. You could tell immediately the tape had far less stickiness to it and it basically kept coming off the walls and floor through almost the entire project! I have been loyal to ScotchBlue ever since!! This tape is also great for random other uses like tagging objects/surfaces around the home without fear of causing damage. Also great for bundling random tools/parts for storage and easily tearing off when needed.

What can I say about a regular roll of tape. I thought I ordered automotive tape because that's what I typed into the search engine. One click led to another and apparently I bought painter's tape, whoops! But is there even a difference? This roll was used for taping off rubber and vinyl trim on my car for compounding and polishing. It is labeled painter's tape, and I noticed that if the tape was left on for a couple hours, specifically on the clearcoating of my car's paint, it left a very fine line of adhesive. This was easily buffed out with a microfiber cloth and even then I was using a polishing compound anyway, so it was gone quick. Just thought I would note that. This is some wide tape! Close to 2" wide tape is giant for exterior car trim!

This tape was extremely versatile in its uses. As it’s name implies, I used it to block off areas I was planning to paint. Worked extremely well. I also used it for sticking things to my wall for measurement and etc. Does not damage the wall at all. The tape is extremely easy to tear off as well. As this tape is from a credible manufacturer, there isn’t anything to worry about it.

Trust the experts at 3M I learned a long time ago that if you need an adhesive tape to trust the folks over at 3M. They simply know what they are doing. This tape worked great for a painting project, easy to apply, and gives a nice crisp paint line when you use it. Then when done painting and the paint has dried, simply grab a edge and peel it all right off. Couldn't be easier. No residue or adhesive left behind.

Exactly what I was looking for! Sticks well and is easy to tear but sturdy as it's supposed to be. Good for labels, etc. I was glad it came with the plastic wrapper around the entire outside of the roll of tape, as other rolls of tape that don't have that end up being covered in dust and filth on the sides because there's adhesive on the edges.

You just can't beat these 3M Scotch-Blue tapes for painting. They have easy application and removal and won't leave any adhesive behind like the old masking tape we used to deal with. You can leave this tape on for several days and it can be removed very easily, yet while painting, it allows for sharp, straight lines without fear of paint leaking below the surface. I learned about this tape from the professional painters who just did my house last summer and they swear by it and so do I. (Yes, I did leave the same review on another size of this painter's tape, but they all work equally well; only the width is different). Thanks for reading.

This painter's tape is made to protect surfaces when you're painting. Most people who've painted rooms know that the majority of the work is prep, and once that's done the painting itself should go quickly. That's because a lot of the "prep" is protecting surfaces you don't want to paint, and that's where this comes in. It's sticky enough to stay in place but comes up easily, without residue, from almost any surface -- paint, wood, glass, etc. And there's not much more fun than letting your paint dry and then pulling up the painter's tape so you see those lovely crisp edges to your newly painted surface. This tape works just as it should. It adheres easily, corrects easily, stays put, is removed swiftly and leaves no residue.
