Great knife. Size lends itself to many uses.

great knife, love it

This knife is everything you would expect in a quality stainless steel knife. Well balanced with a comfortable grip it holds an edge well and slices meats and vegetables easily. I expect that we will be using this knife for many years to come.

The handle is big enough for my whole hand and its comfortable. The knife is perfect size for slicing pineapples, which we do a lot of. Great blade, excellent, quality, German-made product. I would buy more of their knives.

great well-made knife. can't get too psycho-sexual or technical over this item. It's justan effing knife, albeit a very good one.

I bought my daughter a set of three Wusthof knives for x-mas and she just loves them! She's an avid cook and is into aquiring the best kitchen equipment she can. Wusthof is arguably the best knives made on the planet and after some use she's very happy. The steel is top notch and very sharp and will stay that way for a long time. Just don't let steel bang against steel. It would dull very quickly. Wusthof says you can put these in the dishwasher but I wouldn't. Too harsh over the long run. These knives are built to pass on down to generations yet to come. Please don't buy on my word alone. They cost a lot. Research! I've owned Wusthof for years and can back up my opinions with personal experience.

I ordered several knives from Wusthof, the Classic ones for food prep. I did order six steak knives, Gourmet ones, and there is a real difference in quality between the two types of Wusthof knives. The Classic are so much better made and the material used is far superior. The lesser quality Gourmet works for steak knives but for serious cooking get the Classic if you can possibly afford the difference in price. For me, it is well worth it because I plan on keeping these knives for a long time and I do a lot of cooking -- chopping, slicing, cutting, etc.

Replacement knive for my set

I bought this knife for my dad a few weeks ago (for fathers' day). He uses it almost exclusively in place of his older knives now! The 6-inch design is a perfect length for almost any job, too. When I was researching, a good number of people said that it was not multi-functional enough to be worth the price. I found that the knife definitely has some things it does better than others, but it still does a fine job cutting vegetables; the taller blade does optimize it for sandwiches and such, but does great with many utility knife jobs.
