I've been a Contractor 39 years, I know what a good tool is. I LOVE this setup, its quick compacts nicely I did get the carry storage bag also and the added larger feet What comes stock is also very good. I love the design where there is a strong magnet on the top of the pole where you put your plastic. As you hold it at an angle you use their supplied loose washer a and at times you here a snap. Washers sets in the slight recessed are and self aligns so you get a good tight fit/hold. The only gripe I had was its a tad hard to depress the adjacent balls to raise ot lower the poles for roughing in your height. BUT that also means they have strong springs and will last a long time. I also love when you lower or raise the heights they have a line on side of the pole so you can bypass a ball snap spot which makes it very fast to slide the poles to set up and tear down, They are VERY strong in holding power when you pump the handle, meaning a strong fit that bumped wont fall over As a matter of fact to much pump and you'll hear the drywall grown lol My guys love that one person can easily set this up. I also like the fact its keep plastic tight at the ceiling yet you can still have a doorway on one side pulling aside the plastic and then tucking it back behind the pole to seal Great Jobs Great Tool!! and a flat metal waser that after you put your plastic on the pole end then its actually a snap noise when the metal washer conmnects to the top of the pole the palstic to the pole The only thing thats a little tough is squezing the little balls in to lower or raise the teloscope part Godd news the balls have good springs. lol

I used these to semi-permanently hang HTC Vive lightboxes with FastCap 3rd Hand Support System 57-to-144-Inches, 2-pack #3HAND5 I've had them up for at least a month and no problems whatsoever. I have fairly tall ceilings (~11'), and while they are a little flexible when extended to that height, they still work great. I found the instructions were a little confusing, but I've never used a product like this before. Once you understand the operating principle, they are easy to use. Easy to install alone, but it helps a little to have a friend for tall ceilings. My only point of complain is that the "feet" that are in contact with the ceiling are just general hard plastic. I put some microfiber cloths between the feet and the ceiling (painted surface) to make sure no marks were left. I also don't really care for the firetruck red, but they're not really supposed to be permanent decorations anyway. Not enough strength to support pole dancing.

Great product. These allowed me to install 12' long crown molding by myself on 10' tall ceilings. I made a couple of different shop-made attachments for them to make them more useful. FYI, the end of the rod is metric tapped. See photos. Thanks FastCap, could not have done it without you!

I bought these to help me with my DIY projects. Since I live alone - it will come in handy to have an extra set of "hands" around to hold things in place. However, once setting these up - I think I'm also going to be using them for my photography shoots as well - because I can mount flash units and other lighting gear out of the way in corners of the room (instead of using tripod lighting stands which could pose a tripping hazard in some setups). These poles are heavy duty, and the plastic feet help avoid marring floors and other surfaces. The one issue is that the spring pins that hold the poles separated are awfully hard to press into the bar to adjust it -- and through practice, I've found that if I can get the pins pushed in - that I should twist the rod so that I don't have to "re-push" the pins at every stop. Once I find the correct height, I then spin the poles to try to re-align the pins - and then use the adjustment jack at the top of the stand for the rest of the height. There is a small amount of adjustment also at the base of the unit (that pin can unscrew a bit), and the adjustment jack portion extends safely about a foot.

I got these polls to mount vive trackers and a green screen in my apartment. They save a lot of space over using tripod style mounts since it only takes about a 3 in spot on the floor. This lets you put them right up against the wall if you want, a tripod would use at least a foot. They are very sturdy but they wobble sideways a bit when you crank them out to their full length. I was even able to put one horizontally between two walls about 9 feet apart and it was quite solid and didn’t feel like it would fall. Just make sure your walls,Ceiling and paint will be damaged by the pressure and you’ll be fine. The only thing I didn’t like was that the pricing on Amazon was a bit confusing. For some reason the packages with larger numbers of polls cost as much as 3x per pole more! So check the pricing carefully before you decide to order a two pack or four pack or whatever. Buying a bunch of one packs maybe cheaper

Best thing I bought for renovations on our house. I tackled renovations on our house by myself and did task no one would have ever been able to by themselves. Worth the money and recommend these to anyone.

I use them to mount the Sensors for my HTC Vive along with some generic clamps for cameras. Grifiti Nootle Quick Release Pipe Clamp with 1/4 20 Threaded Head for Cameras and Nootle Ipad Mounts Works for Tripods, Music Stands, Microphone Stands, Any Pipe or Bar That Is up to 1.5 Inches in Diameter Also Motorcycles, Bikes, and More

Can't believe I found this tool. I searched the internet for jacks and lifts and couldn't find what I was looking for. Even called tool rental places. Nothing. Don't know how it happened, but I tried one last time and 3rd Hand popped up. Just about fell off my chair. Ordered two for a job in progress. Put them to use right out of the box...then at the close of the day, went back to Amazon and hit the "Buy Again" button and got two more. Sturdy, beautifully engineered, solid materials and well thought out. Great accessories available, too...which I know I won't be able to resist. Couldn't be happier about finding this elegant solution to a wide range of work lifting and bracing challenges.

bought this pair of 3rd hand supports for installing ceiling heating panels. took a bit to figure out how to hold the panel without bending it, the torque is that strong. With a bit of trial and error, 9 panels were installed quickly and easily. Since then they sat in the corner. I just bought a full size pickup and searching for bars to keep items from moving around in the truck bed, I repurposed these. What's perfect about them? They're strong, heavy-duty and the adjustment is at the end and not the middle of the bar so it can be used without climbing into the bed. Wish the plastic ends stayed on better; working on that.

This 3rd hand is every bit as durable and easy to install as shown in the videos. It covers the opening of a third auto bay of my garage (10-foot opening height, 13x13-foot bay). It provides for "AC" for my woodworking bench room. The easy to open magnetic doors work every time to quickly seal in the cold air and the see-through window section offers a clear vision to the surroundings for anyone entering or leaving. I live in Conroe Texas and it is either summer or winter so this system keeps my work area down to 73 degrees when the rest of the garage is in the '90s. The magnets at the pole ends are brilliant for holding the plastic sheet when you lift it into place. Great system and it is very sturdy and will be in use for many years!
