Perfect for Lecturing and Helping Students
Simple and works! No batteries needed. Fits in shirt pocket. Perfect for lectures. I teach college students computer programming. I use this pointer to point out and emphasize things on the projector screen better than using a mouse because the students see me walk to the screen and move my arms rather than look at their screens and try to listen while not looking. This pointer is also good for pointing to computer screens when helping students with their programs. I can point while standing behind the student and without taking over the student's mouse or keyboard. I recommend that you buy several of these just in case you lose it. I have one in my briefcase, one in my computer bag, and one in my drawer in my office. So far, I haven't lost one yet and I am getting good use of it during lectures and labs.

A nice telescoping pointer
I give presentations at work several times a year, and purchased a couple of these to replace two very similar telescoping pointing sticks that I have lost. These are light and the size of a pen, but easily telescope out to a decent-sized pointing stick, and remain extended until compressed down to pen size. The knob on the end is sufficiently large that the audience can see where I am pointing. The chrome on the pointer seems to be of good quality.

NOT A LASER POINTER
I'm stupid and misunderstood what this product was so don't make the same mistake. It routed me to this product after looking at cat litter and cat toys so I assumed it was a laser pointer. It 100% isn't. It is an extendable rod thing for pointing. It says it right in the title I am just dumb so make sure it is what you are looking for.

Great for Training Cat and Dogs!
I actually used this product as a cat pointer. I would point where I wanted the cat to go and sit for training purposes. I combined this with a clicker and treats. I find that this worked great for this purpose and also worked great for training some dogs as well. I highly recommend... this tool can extend and go back to its normal size which makes it very easy to pack around and use.

Nice little or long item when extended :)
I like carrying this thing around. Surprised how many times I have used it. Also works great to attach to those cheap usb borescopes for when you need to guide it to hard to reach places.

Great presenting tool. No magnet.
Used this for giving a job interview presentation on a large TV screen that prevented my laser pointer from showing up. Doesn't have a magnet so it won't make future employers nervous I'm ruining their screen. Small enough when folded to fit easily in my suit breast pocket. Closes easily and without much risk to bending it, though you could probably break it if you were rough on it. Strongly recommend, 5 stars.

My coworker's quality of life is much improved
Got it for a coworker who was using a ratty old ruler to point at things on his monitor or someonelse's monitor or the whiteboard down the hall. Often the ruler was not in it's place so we had to stop and look for it. He unironically LOVES this pointer. He keeps it in his left breast pocket and points things out all the time. He's ordering more for the office because he swears others have expressed interest and besides, "Every professional should have one" 😂 I'd say it's a great gift for people who point but need something extra to get it done.

they work.
I purchased two of these for my office, where we often present over maps, on whiteboards with diagrams and one screens with powerpoint slides. For what these are, they work. I like a longer pointer, but these work fine and the larger tip is actually a selling feature, as it draws the eye to the indicated item. Manual pointers are often required when using a screen, as lasers will not show up on a monitor or television screen.

Helpful Tool
This is one if the better valued items I've purchased from Amazon. Lightweight and slim so it does it's job as a pointer but doesn't block information in the process. Extends out to a handy length and retracts to a size that's slightly longer than an ink pen. I really like this tool and I'm sure it will come in handy often. Using it to point out and share information on a timeline chart.

Perfect for Pointing at Monitors
This is the perfect size to use sitting at someone else's desk to point at their computer screen. I often sit next to co-workers to show them how to use software. Instead of extending my arm, hand, and fingers to the screen across their keyboard and desk (which can be awkward, sometimes too close for comfort, and can leave fingerprints), I use this nice-looking pointer. It's much more comfortable for me and the other person, and they don't waste single second looking around the screen to find the specific things that I am talking about. I also really like that the pointer has a rounded end; without a dangerous feel; no worries about damaging a monitor or poking an eye. No more leaving fingerprints on monitors. Perfect size for the back pocket. Too short for (big) presentations. Awesome old-school product that new tech cannot replace (laser pointers do not work on bright monitors).
