A starving young dog wandered into my yard on Feb 14. He could barely stand and was bones and skin. He was vomitting and defacating goo and mucus as he was full of worms. His eyes showed pleading for help. His smile was genuine. I certainly did not want a dog. People have been dumping animals or moving away leaving pets behind here. I didnt know anything about dog food and about grain and corn fillers. I just gave him some fresh eggs and rabbit meat from a farm mixed in some food I bought at the store till the Diamond Naturals food arrived. Then had him de-wormed by a vet. My bag of Diamond Naturals arrived. I shopped by price vs quality and chose it. He is nearly done with the first 40# bag. I went with the beef because it was cheapest. Its all he eats now with very few treats. I walk him at night after work and I am very pleased. Changed collars twice this month as his neck has quadrupled in size. He is a machine whom could probably out-play any dog on the planet. Im now the only one who can walk him because he is too strong for my wife and kids. His fur is thick and soft, his whiskers have tripled in length on his chin and face. He has grown from starving puppy to healthy dog in a month and a half. I certainly see no reason to change his food or reccomend any other food to anyone else. It is outstanding in every way. The ingredient list is stacked with good stuff. The food pebbles are good sized and shape. Ive seen first hand the quality of this product and support it. B Hall

I used to like this food...paid $31 for it last month when I purchased it. Now it's listed for $55...thank but no thanks, I'll find a different food.

Price per lb + quality of ingredients have me and my 155lb Newfoundland loving this stuff. In today's economy it's nice to not skimp on the dog while still keep things affordable. What this stuff reeaaallllyyy needs is a subscribe and save option!

Wow! I just had to write a review for this dog food ASAP. We got a dog a little after Christmas and we have had the hardest time finding food that he likes. It’s actually been stressful, he’s new but we already love him so much! We tried several different brands and nothing. I started browsing again on Amazon, this food caught my eye (and the price). I looked at the ingredients, read the reviews and decided to go for it. I am SO happy I did!! He LOVED it! It took zero persuading to get him to try it, he was excited just after smelling it! I am giddy! I still can’t believe it! I will be adding some Salmon oil and liver flakes just for extra benefits for him but they haven’t arrived. I’m just so happy he liked the food as is. I will definitely be sticking with this food! If you have a picky eater, try this stuff out! I hope this review helps!

We have a long haired German shepherd. I use to feed him taste of the wild ($60) when he was a pup, but I couldn't afford it after he was two. I then fed him Walmart olroy, his inner parts of paws started to turn red and he would lick them constantly. I'm now on the 3rd bag of diamond naturals and his paws are back to normal and he doesn't scarf his food down like a wolf that hasn't eaten since winter. Very happy with this purchase.

I have 2 dogs (70 and 50lbs). The older has a corn/grain allergy, so choosing food was a little tougher. We started with Taste of the Wild, but it was really expensive and my dog seemed to be getting a little fat.. (okay, a lot fat). We switched to Diamond Naturals a couple years ago and he LOVES it. Because it's healthier than the regular dog foods, I give it to my other non-allergy dog as well, and she loves it too. The food doesn't leave their breath smelling bad at all, it's healthy with very few fillers, and both dogs coats look healthy and shiny. I used to work for the FDA and made sure to pick out a food that was going to be good for my dogs. Recently, I noticed the packaging material changed from a paper-type bag to plastic. The shape and color of the food pellets also changed. The price stayed the same. At first, this was concerning because there was nothing online about a recipe change. I continued to feed it to my dogs with the same results. I see how this could throw some people off, but it wasn't a big deal, and my dogs still love it. Lastly, you'll notice the price fluctuates on amazon. I almost always buy the 40lb bag at $32 shipped. Sometimes you'll see it go up to upper $40s. I usually have 1 or 2 bags in storage and rotate them through, so it's easy to keep costs low, buying at these lower prices. Enjoy!

Champion German Shepherd, Champion Female Rottweiler and (rescued from beneath the house) Mini Pin ALL say YUMMY!!! And that it's SO much less expensive than the Hills Science Diet they'd been eating - more like enduring - since they all came home? We're happy happy joy joy. My Rottweiler even BOUNCES when it's time for this food! Wow, THAT is unique. The Hills? She just smelled it and gave me a look like "REALLY? Do I HAVE to eat this???" And I wondered WHY my German Shepherd was always TOO lean, leaving a LOT of food behind...as they all did until THIS WONDERFUL DOG FOOD!!! Their coats all shine, no more eye yuckies, NO MORE LETHARGY. My incredibly expensive vet recommended Hills Science Diet. My incredibly beautiful and now happy packette? All say NOPE. This Diamond Naturals Beef is YUM!!

I have been feeding this to my 110lb pitbull and my little 4 lb MinPin for the past week or so. I have noticed a difference immediately. They seem to love the taste, and graze in little portions all day long. I started checking stool a few days in and they are both consistent. But the greatest part is their energy levels. My big guy tends to lay around a lot in the Florida heat, but I have noticed a significant increase in his desire to play and run more. And poor guy suffers from allergies, so going with a more natural option of food was important to me. I am using this brand as a stepping stone before taking them both to a grain free, healthier diet. (Which Diamond offers as well). The price was an important factor as well, for a higher quality dry dog food, you cannot beat this price. They earned a loyal customer.

We made the switch to "premium" dog food 5 or 6 years ago. We have 4 border collies and one aussie so we wanted something that had high-ish protein (but not too much) and contained authentic ingredients. We've tried Blue Buffalo, Blue Wilderness, Fromms, Natural Balanace, Nutro Natural Choice,Merrick, Spot's Stew, Chicken Soup, and probably a few others in there somewhere along the lines. We found many of the foods to be too rich for a few of dogs leaving them with terrible diarrhea (what a terrible for all of us). We ultimately ended up using Nutro Natural Choice for a few years. We knew it wasn't the healthiest of "healthy" dog foods but it certainly was much better than typical grocery store foods. We would usually buy it from Pet Valu or PetSmart. When we were lucky enough to catch it on sale, we'd spend about $47 per bag 30 pound bag. Given we have 5 dogs, we go through food about every 10 days. I happened to run across Diamond after doing another brand search among the different dog food brands out there and thought I would give it a try because of it's high rating from a trusted source. I am LITERALLY so happy I did. Not only is it SUPER affordable (mind you, junk foods at Walmart cost upwards of $25) and a 40 pound bag, but it is incredibly healthy and my dogs (who are picky and not food motivated) usually eat almost their whole serving when it is feeding time.

I have researched Dog Foods and this is a rice based dog food with a good amount of meat product / protein in it. The thing is you don't want to feed your dog corn meal or wheat based dog food unless you like to smell dog fats and have dog accidents all over your house. When I adopted my current dog he was farting all over the house. I researched the issue and he was given to me eating a popular corn meal based product. I know there are lots of high end products are are rice based but they cost an arm and a leg and a lab eating those can bankrupt you. I see this products can be had here on Amazon or Tractor supply so it's readily available and very reasonably priced. The lamb sometimes commands a higher price and the beef based product is the bargain at this time.
