Easily installed fan with adjustable sliding side pieces for an easy fit in double hung windows. Also fits sliders per package insert but maximum height could limit this application The fans work very well, cooling 1-2 rooms nicely when outside air is cool. It is also reasonably quiet but not whisper quiet on the low setting so if you are sensitive to sound at night this may not be the best for you although. However, I found it acceptable - definitely better than a hot room! Don't be misled by the "easily reversible" description, though. To reverse you have to take the fan out of the window, flip it around and reinstall it in the window. Not hard to do but not as easy as a flip of the switch that the description implies. However, I can't imagine that reversing the fan would be something most users would do very often. Overall, I am very happy with this product.

My expectations were low at this price point but not only does this little fan move a lot of air it's quieter than I expected and well-designed. The variable with attachment and sliding panel make it easy to fit in different windows very quickly and the molding on top is designed to keep an environmental seal so the only air coming in or out is the air from the fan.

This basic window fan only blows air in one direction, so if your want to get air out you have to manually turn the fan around. However, this isn't really a big issue for us because we only want it to blow air in anyways. The air flow is pretty good, so we usually just run the fan on it's low setting. I've noticed that some people have complained about the fan noise. I do not find the fan to be that noisy. If anything it's extra white noise to help block out any sounds from the outside. Pros: good air flow, fits a variety of window types, easy to install/setup, relatively quiet Cons: to loud (for noise freaks), must be manually turned around to blow air out

I gave this 5 stars for price and construction. It does not use electronics that always fails. It does not have pressure sensitive keys that always corrode and fail. It is simple and very effective. I am a bit of a handyman and I see screws on the case that will allow me to eventually lubricate the motor bearings. The two fans side by side is a very effective idea. I use it to cool my exercise room most of the year. It cools the room down very quickly. Of course in the heat of summer I use a window air conditioner. I have only used it a single day, but my experience with these types of motors is that if lubricated, they will run the rest of your life. I can only wish that the designer of this fan who works for Holmes is adequately paid for his contribution to the company. BTW, I don't need a remote control for a fan.

These basic window fans are good for what they're designed to do. They are without frills with two speeds and single direction air flow. You can physically flip the unit in the window to reverse the direction of the air flow since the controls are located on both sides. Those looking for the convenience of frequently reversing the air flow should spend a bit more for the upgraded unit that does this electronically. I only needed the ability to blow cool air into the room from outside and this unit gets the job done. Some might find the twin fans a little noisy. All in all a pretty good window unit for the price. I purchased two of them.

I've had this for about 5 months and it's been great! My room is in the attic and about 12' x 10'. Since its upstairs and gets the heat from the furnace, located in the crawl space attached to my room; the heat moving upward from downstairs; and the heat from the shingles on the roof, it can get unbearably hot. I keep the heater vent opened a quarter of the way and put this fan in the window on low and the room reaches a comfortable temperature. It's a little loud, but it works well. It drops the temp from ~86* F to ~75* F degrees F having the fan on low in the open window. I have an odd sized window. The space available for the width for the fan is only 20". This fan was a little larger than I wanted, but I knew I would have to modify and fan I got because all the fans I saw were larger than my window. This fan was very easy to modify to fit my window! The fan has a large ~1-2" nub which, ironically for my purpose, allows attachment of an extra extender. I cut off the nub, CAREFULLY, by scoring the plastic repeatedly with a utility knife. Cut away from yourself if you try my stupid utility knife method. I don't recommend it, I only use it as an example of how easy it was to modify to fit into a 20" space. I also use an extendable screen that I secured to the outside of my window with mounting tape and a couple binder clips.

This powerful, reliable, low cost fan has been a life saver during this summer's heatwave! I placed it vertically in my double paned bedroom window, and it dropped the temperature in my room drastically in a matter of minutes. I've found that if I leave it on throughout the night in low, I actually have to turn it off or put more covers on, because it's too cold! The only downfall is that it only comes with one window extender, so it leaves a large gap if you mount it vertically, No problem though, as I ordered some extra extenders directly from Holmes for only $2 a piece!

These fans are great ! I purchased 2. One for my bedroom and one for the living room. They really circulate the air and draw in the cool air from outside. I live in North/central Florida and want to take full advantage of the cool nights while they last before I have to crank on the AC to have a comfortable nights sleep. Are they loud? I don't think so. Anyone that has used a box fan or oscillating fan should fine these fans relatively quiet for their size. Ceiling fans really dry out my eyes for some reason but I haven't had that problem with this window fan. The color. No it's not a pure white. Its more of a bone, ash color. Which doesn't bother me one bit. The manual issue. I dont know if the description was changed after all the complaints I've read. But it clearly states that you can manually reverse the air flow. Just flip the fan around for christ's sake. It's not that big a deal ! I haven't had to use the reverse air flow so I can't comment on how effectively it draws hot air out. I know I am very satisfied at the rate it draws in the cool air from outside. Can't speak on the longevity of the fans as I recently purchased them

Obsessed! Fits my window perfectly and allows me to turn the AC off at night and suck the cold air from outside - into my room! I use this to cool down my master bedroom since it's on the backside of my house and doesn't receive a breeze I keep it on low and it keeps the room cool and smelling fresh!

After ~12 years my ~$19.99 pedestal fan's motor began to whistle, so I put a FREE sign on it and set it out on the street and someone grabbed it in like 3 seconds flat. :-) Anyhow, this was the fan in my office and it's where my dogs sleeps at night, I had already been looking at fans and I decided to buy my first "window fan" , in my 45 years I have seen them around but I have never tried one so this is my first. I bought the fan at Target for just over $20 after using a few discount I had. It installed very easy in the sliding window in my office, I was sort of disappointed that it only had a low and high because I almost always use medium or high settings on all of my fans, however it turned out that the low setting on this fan is more like medium so that is nice. The first night of use I lowered the blinds in my office and closed them about ~60% and the blinds directed the air down on my dogs bed so she gets a nice breeze all night. About 5am the next morning I decided to go in my office and lay with my dog for a bit. BTW I also have a table fan on low that is directly pointed at my dog so she for sure stays comfortable. Anyhow I came in the office and layed down and it was chilly so I shut off the table fan and that did nothing, it was the Holmes window fan that was making it cold, man this fan is awesome. And just this morning I came into the office and it was down right cold! I love this fan!
