I was looking for a gas powered edger because gas is always better, right? I wasn't willing to pay $200 for a gas edger so I "settled" on this one. Am I glad I did! This thing is easy to put together, easy to control and more than powerful enough. My house is on a small rise, and the dirt flows down over time, making for a pretty deep cut facing my house, This thing handled it with no problem. Yeah, the cord is a pain but I have a fairly small yard, so I don't mind too much. Highly recommended.

Assembly of the edger was quick and easy, about 10 minutes to have it in working order. My wife is the main user of this edger, so the light weight was a big plus, Our yard had overgrown the driveway sidewalk in many areas, and it was quite thick, so I had some concerns that an electric edger would be powerful enough to get the job done. Fortunately there was no problem in the power department as the edger cut through the over-growth in only a few passes. In the end, it did exactly what I needed it to do, edge the sidewalk without a lot of weight or complexity. I should note that if I did know that this item was reconditioned I never would have known, it looked just like a new model out of the box.

I picked one of these up to replace my old Edgehog that had died. Having had positive experiences with CPO products in the past, I figured I'd save a few bucks on my new edger. I received my edger the day after I ordered! It was in great shape; looked brand new. It didn't have the little hubcaps on the wheels (admittedly, they aren't in the picture), so I salvaged those off of my old edger before I threw it out. They aren't necessary at all, but I can be slightly "retentive" sometimes ;) . I had the opportunity to use it this past weekend - ok, "opportunity" is a bit strong as I don't enjoy yard work - and it worked great. It was considerably quieter than my old Edgehog. Not sure it if B&D tweaked/changed the motor over the years or mine originally sounded like this and got louder as it aged, but it was nice. All of my general comments regarding the Edgehog that I made under the brand new Edgehog listing still apply. Bottom line, if you need an edger, the Edgehog is a great one to get, and the reconditioned version is an exceptional value.

My husband bought this for our yard. When he got it he couldn't even tell that it had been reconditioned. He's used it to edge our whole yard and driveway and it made easy work of the job. Not only that but it spurred 3 other people on the block to edge their lawns!

No point buying a new one when this refurb is cheaper and does the exact same job. My unit looked brand new, no scratches dings or dents. I assembled it without instructions in about 5 minutes. The unit did include them, they were just unneeded as it is self explanitory. In my yard, the sidewalk edges were severely overgrown by as much as 4 inches in a few places. Using this edger, I was able to clean up my entire yard in about 45 minutes. In the areas where it was really overgrown and thick, the guide plate had a tendency to get stuck on the overgrown area sometimes requiring me to go over those areas a second time after removing the majority of the cut through patches. Areas that were just slightly overgrown, this tore through it with no issues. I imagine if done twice a year, the job would be really easy with this unit.. Make sure to have a push broom, or preferably a leaf blower for easy cleanup. This will dig a 1/16 inch wide trench that will kick up dirt that will need to be cleaned up. This edger is worth the money and makes a tedious time consuming job go fairly quick

I've been struggling with an older version of this tool, which I bought used, and using it always seemed like it took more work than it should. I've been reading about this version, but was a little skeptical that it might not be greatly improved. My concerns were put to rest immediately!. With one use I found my edging time cut in half, and the results I achieved were outstanding! I can't believe I waited so long! The edger arrived in great condition, and looks brand new. It was very simple to assemble, and works like a pro. I'm very pleased!

This has worked great for me over two seasons. It is much faster than using the weed eater and looks better too. There is some instances where I have to go forward a little bit and backup to get it all edged, but that's not a problem for me. It is so much easier using an actual edger!

Nice because you just plug and trim. Don't have to worry about pulling, gasing up and changing plugs.

I bought this edger thinking I would get an OK product for the price. I used it over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised that it works better than much more expensive models. There was little assembly and in no time I was ready to go. I've seen my neighbor struggle with a more expensive model and was shocked how quickly I was able to edge my entire yard a lot faster than I've seen him do his, and I have a huge yard. It took me a little while to figure out the best direction to use the blade (on the pavement with the built in guide against the sidewalk)but after that sunk in it was a breeze. Next I cut a path to border a garden spot and it worked like a champ. This is a great buy!! I don't normally write reviews but this one I felt merited comment.

This works like it was never sent for a recondition. It definitely gets my neighbors' attention because it gets the job done. I've been stopped plenty of times to ask what I'm using. You can edge or trench with this product, and you can specify the level of depth with the front wheel.
