Great mirror!

Great mirror! Nice and bright white lights that do not get hot. I can actually see my face with no shadows. I love that the mirror swivels up and down instead of side to side so I can zone in on my eyes. It turns on with a switch and has a lever to change between light settings. Plus, it has an extra outlet on the front. I also love the magnifying side of the mirror. Works great for me! I initially purchased the Conair Lighted Makeup Mirror and was extremely disappointed. The light was not bright enough on any of the settings. Plus, the lights got really hot so I began to sweat. Sweating is not good when you are applying makeup! To turn on, you need to rotate the knob to your choice of lighting. For example, if you want the "DAY" setting, you need to turn the knob four "clicks" until the "DAY" lighting is set. I've attached side by side images of each mirror so you can make up your own mind as to which mirror would work best for you. The first picture shows both mirror's set in the "DAY" setting. What a difference! The second picture shows how the two mirror's swivel differently.

A great light-up trifold make-up mirror!

This is a wonderful tri-fold make-up mirror. It has different lighting settings. The lights are very bright and help when applying makeup. What I also find helpful is to be able to plug in a curling iron into the outlet in the front of unit. I recommend this light-up make-up mirror.

Must have if you need light!!

I needed a light mirror because the light in my bedroom sucks! I did my research and found a heck of a deal on this mirror and I couldn't be happier! I love this! Helps SO much! I can actually see! I only use the "day" function but the others are nice also. It's hard sometimes though having to get closer to the mirror (hello for bad eyes that need glasses to see right lol) so it's quite bright in the eyes when doing so which makes it a bit harder to see. But having the two sides help with this. The magnified side is also great for doing eyebrows as well as everyone else has said. Having the light for that helps immensely! The size is good too. Not too big and doesn't take up too much space. I like also that I can have it rest at different angles with the rest on the back! Overall, great product, great quality, great deal...super happy with my purchase!

Great lighting...Love this mirror

I love this mirror. I bought both the Clairol mirrors (one with side mirror and one without). The lighting was terrible on both. I had to leave lights on just to see in the other mirrors. I bought this and the lighting is great. I can turn the bathroom lights off and its perfect. My makeup looks nice and even. I haven't had any problems with the magnification or the switch. You can tell a difference between settings but I just leave it on the day setting. I was so sad that I wouldn't be able to find a decent mirror and this mirror saved me. I'm thinking of buying an extra one to put up.

The best makeup mirror ever!

I don't know how I went so long without a makeup mirror. I don't know how other makeup mirrors compare to this one, but I love the Jerdon Tri-Fold Two-Sided Lighted Makeup Mirror! This is probably one of the best purchases I've made in a long time. Don't hesitate to buy it! This is the best makeup mirror I've ever used.The description for this item here only mentions that its magnifications 5x. That is only on one side of the mirror. Just swivel it around for 1x. This mirror permits full-face lighting and I find that the light adjustments for Day, Office, Evening, and Home are quite accurate. This was a nice surprise; with other brands' lighted makeup mirrors such settings were useless. Very pleased, I bought another unit; at this price I can afford the convenience of having one for the bedroom and another for the bathroom. I find no difference in quality and/or light features between them. Great lighting, bulbs go from top to bottom of mirror, different lighting settings, although I only use daylight because I like that lighting the best- best details seen. Flip it over for grooming- you'll see EVERYTHING that needs attention- some days I'm not fond of the reflection, but at least I can see what needs plucking, concealing etc!! Has a "kick stand" so you can have it at many angles- great when you move from different height chairs. When I put it away I just wrap the cord around the folded mirror and this holds the kick stand in place. Thankful for reviewer who gave instructions on changing the bulb, so anticipating no problems. I like this MUCH better than the "new" Conair mirrors, that have 4 tiny bulbs- lighting on these is AWFUL.

The best mirror you will find at this price. Lights are very bright

The two main things I was worried about this were 1. Is it bright enough and 2. Is the magnification big enough. Well the lights are VERY bright and you can flip the main center mirror around and it's a very large magnification. I can't imagine anyone needing anything brighter or bigger than this. Probably the best thing you're gonna find unless you buy one of the really expensive $200+ models

Great mirror, Great price, Great design, Great quality.

Best makeup mirror and one of the best priced! The lights are very bright (as they should be, but won't hurt your eyes) I always use mine in daylight mode. I love that the mirror rotates up and down and flips vertically to the magnifying mirror side. I find this far superior to other brands that turn right to left with a horizontal turn-flip. This is so much better for me, because I have to place my mirror on a small box (amazon shipping box actually!) on my bathroom counter and stand as I put on my makeup; with a vertical flip I can easily adjust touch tilt the main center mirror up or down for best viewing of area being worked on, whereas with the horizontal rotating brands I'd risk it falling off my box and breaking every use as I'd have to adjust the support stand for the entire mirror angle instead of just gently touch tilting. Finally, with the touch rotate up and down I don't have to crouch funny because I can just touch tilt the mirror to the best view. I bought this 'second' Jerdon mirror because I accidentally left the one I bought years ago at my friends home in another state. It was easier, about the same cost, and faster to just buy a new one here. Great mirror, Great price, Great design, Great quality.

Dream mirror, great price!

I ordered the curved-edge Jerdon folding lighted mirror. This mirror has 5x magnification. I was used to 10x mag with my old mirror so I was concerned after reading other reviews that it would not be good enough. While I could tell a difference between the two strengths I found that it was not a rough adjustment. I can see my pores as close as I need to. I can see each eyebrow hair close enough to pluck out individual hairs as needed. The bulbs on this mirror are phenomenal. Unlike an older model I read about, there is no need to hold the switch down to get the lights to come on. A simple switch allows instant lights on/off. The 4 light filter choices fit anyone's need for perfect makeup application. The size of the side mirrors is better than I expected. They look small in the image but they are just right. You cannot beat this mirror at this price! I paid about $36.

Holy bright lights, Batman!!!!

Wow I did not expect this mirror to be so bright! The colors are pretty artificial, but it provides more than enough lighting to get the job done. I was coming off of one of those Chinese led mirrors though, which was PATHETIC!!!!! But ya, I'm VERY happy with my new mirror!!

Not the most stylish, but great in terms of utility

This is the mirror I use daily for makeup. I have purchased it 3 times in total. POSITIVES The lighting is pretty strong, but in a good way. I want to be able to see any mistakes with blending, etc. and the lighting definitely assists with that. It's really good when tweezing or needing to see individual pores, that kind of thing as well. There is also a slider which allows you to change the color of the lighting, so that can be helpful as well. The ability to switch between the regular and magnified mirrors just by rotating is also very handy and the side mirrors are a nice bonus. NEGATIVES First, the mirror is made of light weight plastic. As a result, it is not all that durable. I have had the plastic part in the back of the mirror (back step?) that rotates down break for 2 out of the 3 mirrors purchased. I was able to use duct tape and reconnect the back step, but it was still a big hassle. Second, the style of the mirror is pretty dated looking. It is made out of white plastic, which gets dirty quickly when around makeup and is a pain to clean because of all the nooks and crannies. Also, the font/other design elements look a bit cheesy, but that is just a nit picky observation. OVERALL I have purchased makeup mirrors that were much more stylish looking (oval, silver mirrors), but none of them have come anywhere close to the utility of this mirror. Overall, I definitely recommend this mirror in terms of utility, but it would be great it eventually the style/design of the mirror could be updated to address the flimsiness of the back step and just to make general design improvements.
