we had fun..

We purchased this for our 3 year old grandson... other grandparent reviews encouraged us to do so... they were right!... we took our time and assembled it together... both of us... it took two hours, taking our time, on the deck.. and, we had fun... because we didn't wait until the last minute... our grandson loved it... just like the one his father had, when he was 3 years old, 35 years ago... one suggestion: we made a conscious decision to insert the four (4) screws, for the rear axle assembly, from the top side of the seat... instead of from the undercarraige, as stated in instructions...

Great Little Roadster!

Not particularly easy to put together, as it entails groveling on the floor some. But after SEVERAL HOURS of tweaking, including having to remove and re-install two wheels, it looks FANTASTIC. Shortening the pedal length was easy. I jumped the gun, though. My 18-month-old grandson hasn't yet mastered the art of pedaling even though he's finally getting the hang of steering. But he loves pushing it around inside the house and on the patio. He especially loves the custom name license plate I velcroed to the back!

Yea for this little truck and yea for Amazon

I was so happy to find this all metal truck with ladders and bell. The plastics are so tawdry. I got one very much like this one for my son when he was three, He headed right for in on Christmas morning, exclaiming, "Oh, my fire truck!" So when I saw this I had to get it for my granddaughters, ages 2 and4. When I got it for my son I put it together myself Christmas Eve night. (My husband was NOT handy.) This time I got my son-in-law to do the assembling. He loved it. Good thing he assembled it before Christmas! One of the tires was defective! Kudos to Amazon. They sent another truck in two days, we took a good wheel and tire from it and put it on our truck and put the damaged one in the new box. UPS will pick it up tomorrow, So five stars on this sturdy little truck and five stars for Amazon customer service. Yea!

Great product - No more charging batteries!

I purchased both the Police Car and Firetruck for my 2 year old and 5 year old for Christmas last year. I waited to review to give it a fair review. I was not able to assemble it it myself but my husband assembled it in no time. Once assembled they lit up the room. These are precious items! They look great and the colors are so vibrant. I love the way they look! I really liked the fact that the kids could pedal them and I wouldn't have to deal with charging them as needed. I lost the cable to one of the power wheels and the other power wheel - the battery stopped charging. This alone sold me on getting them. My 5 year old was able to ride it easy! He loved them! He liked going around the kitchen ringing the bell! It's now a tight squeeze for him to get in and out of the cars. My two year old, now 3 year old is still not able to reach the pedals. By the time he reaches the pedals he will not fit into them, as he's on the larger size. The cons are, once the cars were assembled the tires smelled really bad! I had to leave them outside for weeks before the smell went away. That meant they had to sit outside for weeks and these cars are not meant to be outdoors. Also the ladder does not secure onto the fire truck to keep the small children from getting them. I just removed the ladders as my 1 year old kept pulling them out and I was worried she'd get hurt. My biggest issue was when one of the metals for the pedals completely came off. This is metal and it was just sticking out and I was so worried that my kids would get hurt, so I had to retire it. These are beautiful pieces to adorn your Christmas Tree or Nursery Room. My 5 year old rode around it all summer! He loved it!

Love this pedal car

I bought this for my 4 year old. It was simple to put together and very well made. The direction are clear once you review them. Minimal tools required. Everything is metal, so I'm hoping it will stand up to a lot of use. He loves it and rides around in it for hours. It is not a traditional pedal like a bike,( cycler motion) The child pushes the pedals back and forth. Unless you have a child that is very experience riding bikes, I think anyone under 4 might have some difficulty in pedaling. There are three sizes to move the pedals to, so I expect my son to be able to ride this for a couple of years. His sibling already tried to cram themselves into it because they wanted to ride it. They are 8 and 10. I think a 6 year old would have problems unless they were really small for their age. Overall, LOVE this purchase!!!

Big hit!

Another grandmother here. I read the directions first and assembled it in 45 minutes. Directions say to not over tighten some parts. Take this seriously as those parts are the ones that make it easy to pedal or not. This was a big hit for my 3 year old granddaughter and all of her friends. Each little one at her birthday party wanted a turn. Now she rides it often. I took the ladders off when all the children were over as they come off easily and I did not want anyone hurt.

Great company! Saved Christmas

This company is so wonderful. We ordered this truck for our almost 3 year old. All he wanted for Christmas was a fire truck. When we started putting it together two days before Christmas one of the wheels had a broken piece of rubber. I called the company and pleaded with them to send a new wheel. They initially said the wheel wouldn't make it on time but then the wheel arrived on Christmas Eve!!! Our son was so happy. He loves it. It's a really beautiful truck.

This is a great item. My grandson loves it and easy for him to operate. Cinch to put together out of the box. Substantial metal body, it works well , seems pretty safe to me. As with any item like this, I just have to watch him, as a normal precaution, so he doesn't get going too fast down hill.

Very good value

Got this for my 2 and half year old grandson. I thought it was great! He will grow into it as the peddles seem out of place to him. Can't get him to understand that he will love it more when he can make it go with the peddles. Well made for what it is. My daughter was so happy it was not plastic. It will last. Looks cool. Easy to put together. Glad we got it. But, it is a little advanced for 2.5 years. But, the add informed us of that before we bought it so no disappointment there. He will grow into it.
