We have a koi and a gold fish (both about 8-10 inches) in an large indoor tank. Got this to replace the old fish food because they were eating the flakes too fast. This floats well, hasn't made the tank dirty and the fish seem happy and healthy.

My Koi love this food above most others and were happy to get their pellets on time. We ran out unexpectedly so they had to have another brand and did not really seem to like it as much. We used snacks to fill in a few feedings until this delivery arrived. I use this as a staple food and feed treats a few times a week. They love fruits and veggies, but will always eat their pellets when I use this brand but have ignored other brands when I have used them. We will continue to order this item as the price is perfect and with quick shipping it is also convenient.

To be honest, my koi eagerly eat just about any food I put in the pond. Being a bargain shopper, however, I felt this was good value for the money. Also, I like the fact this comes in a plastic container with a lid. Koi food is kind of smelly, and the last bag I bought the seal broke on the first day. It was a bigger bag than expected and lasted for months, so the zipper-lock not working was kind of annoying. With this plastic container, I can just screw the lid back on and it keeps the pellets fresh and the smell to a minimum.

This is the food for my koi.koi both like to eat .the key is the price is very favorable

Our family is using this brand and another good brand and we like them both. We are feeding (public) pond fish, turtles, and birds with these pellets. We also grind them up in our coffee bean grinder for the guppy-like mosquito catcher fish. When we show up the larger fish line up left to right and wait for us. Its worth every penny for the fun. There are also mother birds who collect the pellets in their beaks then fly low over to the other side of the pond to their nests. The frogs start croaking. When we move to other parts of the pond, babies and bird mothers often follow on foot. Wear a bright colored shirt or hat each time! It takes about two cups per trip for 60-90 minutes of interactive fun with nature. 1 cup of pellets, and one cup of ground flakes in two different containers works fine. Give the creatures about 2-5 minutes to realize you are there and you will be delighted. You can also take red leaf lettuce and spinach which will break down in the water for the fish and other leaf eating birds, like black coot birds and the tiniest of fish. They love to pick at the lettuce. The lettuce attracts the turtles too. Stand still and the fish will come up very close to you.

Holy crap! That's a lot of fish food. I bring my out door fish indoors for the winter. I ran out of food and ordered this without thinking about how MUCH a pound of food is. This will last us for a year or more and the fish seem to love it. To be honest I bought it because it was the same price as a little tub of food, I didn't really digest that it was 8 times as much food. The pellets are large, but it keeps the fish busy for a while. The seem to really enjoy playing with and eating the bigger pellets.

My pet store was out of our regular floating fish food so I bought these. I didn't notice that these were medium pellets, not small like my fish are used to. My own fault. But luckily my fish are bigger and they don't seem to mind. This bag was only slightly more than a small container at the pet store and is MUCH more cost effective. Will order again although I might see if I can get the small pellets since we have new babies in our pond.

Handy container keep food dry , food seems to be good quality.

I purchased the pond food to feed my goldfish in my pond. The goldfish I purchased were sold as feeder fish several years ago and they have grown and bred so now they range in size from one inch to 6 inches. I didn't want to put down a lot of money on koi when I wasn't sure I could make them work. Now, they are so big and pretty, I'm just not going to bother with koi instead. I had been purchasing pellets and flakes through the local pet store, but it was expensive to keep up buying the smaller sizes all summer. I thought I would try one big bag instead. This bag cost about the same amount as one of the smaller canisters I bought at the pet store, and it equals about four canisters worth!. It comes in a re-sealable bag. I happened to have two old canisters still (one flakes and one pellets), so I just refilled them with the fish food from the bag and still have 1/2 a bag left. I was concerned the pellets would be too large for some of my little guys, but they are actually about 1/2 the size you get at the 'fish food' machines, where you put a quarter in to feed the fish at ponds and zoos. Another example would be they are the size of a small bead, or oat (but not flat). The pellets smell exactly like the Tetra brand fish food I've been feeding them in the past. I haven't tried a taste test (nor will I), but my fish seem to love it. I've been feeding it to the fish for about three weeks now and so far have seen no adverse affects. They were previously healthy and continue to be healthy and colorful and maybe even growing. The fish eat them well and I will definitely purchase again.
