I'm going to reiterate what many past reviewers have stated, but I have to give credit where credit is due. This cage has lived up to my expectations. I had been searching to find a spacious, efficient, well-built cage for a good price. After a lot of researching, this was the best cage I found for its price regarding material (sturdy wrought iron), size (internally 23" depth, 37" across, 47" high), and design (easy to clean, move, and access). I know several past reviewers have mentioned that it came with damaged or missing parts, but I believe that Prevue has resolved this. This cage came extremely secure and well-packaged, with all parts present and intact. I found that the instructions, one double-sided page with pictures, are pretty simple and straightforward. If you can tell which parts are which and you have a helping hand to hold them together, it shouldn't take you more than 30 minutes to assemble this. I think that this cage is perfect for parakeet-sized or smaller birds, not larger parrots. This is due to the lack of horizontal bars and parrot-proof features like locks and secured bowls. If you're looking for a good parrot cage, I would recommend the "Yaheetech Pet Bird Cage Play Top"; however, if you want a really spacious cage for $100, than this would work with some additional parrot-proofing and customization. The small side doors (6 of them) make it easy to move around things within the cage while my bird is still inside. Additionally, this cage is really light, so combining that with wheels makes moving it super efficient. I don't even use the grate; I slide the tray where the grate goes and it saves me cleaning time. Needless to say, my canary is ecstatic to have more room, and now I no longer worry about him being cramped while I'm not home. Before, I would let him out once or twice a day to fly around my room, and he would be reluctant to return to his old cage. After setting up this cage, he hopped right in, looked around, and sang happily. I still let him out, but now he hangs around this cage, hopping in and out contently. We're both really happy with it. If you're looking for a cage that will make your bird really happy in the long run, go with this cage.

After having this cage for quite some time, I can attest that my society finches adore this cage. It is literally an aviary for them and they love to flit about. It is easy to clean and the doors provide excellent access for food, water, nesting stuff, toys, millet spray, and baths...or whatever else you put in your birds cage (mine are spoiled so...). Assembly took about an hour (2 person job, limited space to move around) and it's pretty sturdy. Rolls really well and the storage is handy, though the compartment isn't very large underneath. I would definitely recommend this cage to anyone that has birds that are parakeet sized or smaller. It is NOT for larger birds as their intelligence and bite strength would render the spring loaded doors useless.

I love this cage! My sparrow loves it even more! The cage is large, sturdy, and really well made. I am so happy with the purchase. I love the four food/water containers that came with it, as well as the 3 wooden perches. Some advice... While all of the doors are conveinent, the ones on the two sides don't latch closed. Because I have cats and dogs, I used zip ties to permanently close the doors on the bottom. The top ones can't be reached by my animals, and are very convenient. They are held closed with a spring latch that is strong enough to keep my bird in. The assembly directions are pretty terrible, but here is some advice on those... You will need at least 2 people, but 3 would he better. We only had 2 of us, so we set it up in the corner and utilized the walls a lot. Also, it instructs you to wait till the very end to add all of the screws, but I suggest adding them as you go, and keeping them loose. This will make sense once you start. Overall, wonderful purchase and such a deal at only $100.

So far, so good. Took us a few minutes to figure out how it put together, but it's pretty easy once you get the base. I went over it with my hands and eyes and looked for flaws, and I didn't see anything. I was doubting getting this cage after reading a few reviews that weren't too good, but I just took the risk. I don't regret it. I can't wait to get my 2 parakeets in here, I think they'll LOVE it! *UPDATE!!* We've had the first cage for about 10 months now, and our two budgies (and we) LOVE IT! So much room for them to have lots of toys and perches and also enough room for them to fly and get their exercise! Very easy to clean and it's very sturdy. We've taken it outside a few times which required us to lift it, and we had zero problems. Yesterday I ordered another one because we wanted to have a cage for inside and one for outside. The second we decided to get another cage, we went straight to this one without a second thought. It even got here the next day and was packaged even better than the first time! Thank you for such an amazing product. We 100% recommend this cage.

This is such a great cage! I have a cockatiel and I had been housing her in a cockatoo cage that I happened to have on hand up until I purchased this cage, and while it worked ok, it really wasn't species appropriate for her. The bars were very thick and she just couldn't get around as easily as I wanted her to be able to which also caused issues with her slipping and falling and damaging her tail feathers. The bowls for it also weren't working out. They were so large her tail was always soaked with water. I was nervous about making this purchase because there seemed to be a lot of bad reviews but I must say I didn't have any of the issues anyone was complaining about. Everything fit together as it should; the instructions weren't even needed because setting it up is so self-explanatory and the box is packed with each piece in the order it needs to go together. You use the same type of screw for the entire cage so there are no hand fulls of confusing baggies. And the bars, while flexible (they do have a little give but are NOT "flimsy" in my opinion), make this cage soooo light weight! The weight of the cage was important to me because the cockatoo cage I had, for obvious reasons, was so ungodly heavy that when put together it's near impossible to move and clean under. I'm a small person living alone so I needed a cage I could easily move around the room by myself. The bar thickness and spacing is ideal for cockatiels and Dove (my bird) moves around the cage so much easier. The bowls are appropriately sized so that she can't sit in her water anymore so no more wet tail! There is more than enough space for all kinds of toys AND she can still move around without getting tangled in it all. I've actually got more toys for this cage on order right now. She spends about equal time at both the top and the bottom of the cage so no space goes unused and wasted. I can TELL she's a much happier bird in this cage which is the most important thing of all to me. And for the price, I can't think of a single reason to not recommend this cage to anyone with tiels.

5 stars for loving the cage design after assembling and 5 budgies love it also. Flexibility of door sizes and location, see excellent, I use brown craft paper, 55lb from bulk roll ordered from amazon, most economical so I can change paper daily, like the pull our tray easy to clean w disinfectant wipes and it slides back in under the wired bottom so birds can't touch it anyway. The craft paper is on top of the bottom wired shelf so they can run around easily without tearing or sagging, their feet aren't on the grill bottom this way, nice and smooth. The water & food trays are ample however could only easily hook them on the right side, prongs slid in and our easily. Other sides prongs were slightly off width, son forced 1 first one and broke the prongs. So just try hooking trays on first with nothing in them to assure which location fits easily. Otherwise you'll spill water and food forcing them. It was easier to locate perches swings toys after location for trays fit. ASSEMBLY - 4 stars as some reviewers mentioned directions weren't the easiest and there's an assembly video on amazon below the product picture, which I hadn't watched. Am 60+ yr grandma who does assembly, repairs around home alone so suggestion if you don't have a second set of hands to help. I always do inventory of parts 1st, assuring have none missing or broken before assembling, much less frustrating. I organize them in order of directions with a pencil to check off each instruction AFTER completing, so much easier to resume if interrupted. A picture is worth a thousand words and time saved, find the picture put in front of you, often don't nred directions that way. Mostly, make sure you have zip ties/cable ties from hardware store, these are my extra hands to keep everything from falling apart or moving, but leave a little slack to easily cut them off as needed. rather than assemble bottom with wheels and working your way up from there, I found much easier to lay down bottom on its side, swivel the wheels so it's flat. I then assemble the cage flat on floor and against a plumb wall or cabinet side so already 2 sides don't move, use zip ties.as you go, the prongs from cage sides don't slide out of place that way. After bottom and top ate assembled, I slide top to bottom and assemble, flat on floor then just lift straight up. Didn't have time to edit long post and if it saves some frustration and time for any of you that's the intention. Because some reviews are quite negative, this cage is perfect for smaller birds, width of bars, strengrh, design, spaciousness. If anyone who has larger stronger heavier birds then it's obvious you need to choose a stronger bar design. I suspect some customers choose this one for smaller birds because of very big savings thinking it's spacious enough when in fact they have,to pay more the the stronger bars period. Therefore it's not fair or reasonable to the manufacturer to give a lower rating if their bigger birds are destroying it. I couldn't afford more and I think.it's an outstanding but, my 30 & 35 yr sons do also. If assembled with a bit of slack with screws then tighten them a bit going around evenly you'll find that it's sturdy doesn't wabble. Have some heavier toys? rather than hang on individual wire, I slip a dowel of 3,6,9 inches inside the loop, string, hook whatever and lay the dowels across the wires on top of cage so weight is distrib uted over several wire rods instead of hanging off 1 and risk sagging, in general. If you can't find dowel sizes you need then popsicle sticks might serve same person. LOVE THIS CAGE WELL WORTH EVERY PENNEY NO REGRETS WOULD BUY IT AGAIN AND RECOMMEND. I SAVED A LOT OF $. Suggestion: If you just don't have the patience to assemble ask a customer helper in a pet store if they could do for you, but I don't suggest being cheap w $ either. It does take time but you still save a lot of money paying someone to do for you. If you are 2 persons who work well together ? 45 min if you're alone, count on 1-1.5 hrs. Your feathered friends will love the space and safety from harm.

Super awesome for the price!!! My 8 parakeets LOVE this cage!!! It gives them tons of flying room. I also got one for my 2 cockateils and sun conure and they love it too!! The quality is excellent!! I highly recommend this cage :o)

Bird approved! I rescued an IRN from a pretty bad situation and she LOVES this cage. It’s very spacious, once assembled sturdy and has a lot of room for toys, perches and most importantly her to stretch and move around. I will absolutely buying another when we adopt a conure. (This is NOT big enough for larger birds. My Indian Ringneck is probably about as big a bird as I would put in it) Assembly was easy. I can see why people are having a hard time because the directions are bad. But if you’ve put a bird cage together before you shouldn’t have a problem. You will need two people. I tried to do it myself and ended up needing my husband to hold the pieces as I screwed them together. I did have to permanently wire the six side doors closed. They don’t lock and any smart bird will figure out how to push them open. The two from doors are plenty big to access the inside. The “food” trays are useless. One arrived broken. The other two I used but only for special treats. Not her pellets or chop in.

I bought this extra large cage for my two cockatiels so they could have some more space to play while I am working. It is now their full time cage because we love it so much! What they like: - The cage is spacious enough for more toys and they can really spread their wings. - They can be together and still have plenty of personal space. - The bar spacing is perfect so they can climb inside and out without any trouble. - The dishes. Honestly, I have no idea why they love them. But they were all intact when I received them. What I like: - Most importantly, it makes them happy. - Bedtime used to be a hassle trying to get them into their medium size cages. They go into this cage without any arguments making bedtime so much less stressful for all of us. - It is quite sturdy for birds of their size. As others have already mentioned, this is a flight cage intended for smaller birds. Don't put a large parrot in it and expect it to withstand the damage they can cause. - The price! I spent twice as much on a semi-large cage at a pet store that they don't even use. The only very minor complaint I have is that the top panel was slightly warped making it a little difficult to finish putting together. But that certainly wouldn't deter me from buying it again. And once it was all put together there was no part of it that could possibly put the birds in any danger. One comment I noticed in a lot of the reviews was the spring loaded doors on the sides. I actually like to use the doors bc they are quite convenient. I found an easy resolution was to use screw-on dishes or perches to hold them shut. So overall, I would definitely recommend this to someone who is looking for a nice flight cage for their smaller birds.

I got this cage in the extra large size and I am super pleased with it! It is perfect for my two cockatiels, and definitely has room for a few more. The boys have lots of room to flap and climb and plenty of room for lots of perches and toys. The cage is very sturdy and the measurements are true to the description. My cage came in undamaged, however, it was missing all of the screws, tools, and wheels, so I was unable to build it when it came in. I called Prevue customer service and they were very helpful and they sent me everything I needed about a week later at no cost to me. I suppose I could have taken a star off for that, but to be honest this cage is perfect and they fixed the issue, so I chose to give it the full rating. I personally decided to zip-tied the side cage doors shut, they are spring-based and I didn't want the birds messing with them and I was't going to use them, so I shut them. The main 2 doors have a sorta weird closing mechanism (a sliding bar) but its grown on me and seems pretty safe. If you have a troublesome clever bird, perhaps add another clip to the doors to keep them shut. The cage came with 3 perches and 4 bowls. The perches are very nice , the bowls are okay too but I didn't end up using all of them. The cage bottom has a grill but I chose not to put it in because my birds prefer being able to touch a bottom with bedding instead of bars. There are 2 sliding areas to put the grill and the tray, the top is supposed to be for the grill and the bottom for the tray. What I did was I removed the grill completely and slid the tray in the top slot. There is no gap large enough for them to get out with this method. Putting the cage together is very simple, but it can be helpful to have a helper to help hold things in place. Overall, really pleased! I recommend this cage to anyone who has asked me on my bird instagram account (bink.screech). It is very roomy and functional and beautiful, I am incredibly pleased with this purchase! (for size reference, I am 5'8'' and this is the extra large cage)
