I don't give my cockatiel anything else! I actually wrap several Nutri-Berries in a paper towel and smash them down with a meat tenderizer until they're pulverized. I put the loose seed in his dish. I do this because the little balls of nutria-berries would end up on the cage floor. He gobbles this stuff up.

This product is used by my 3 large parrots, and they seem to like it as they eat it everyday. They have pellets and fresh water each day, as well as wholesome human food. They love chicken and beef cooked every way. They like yogurt and scrambled eggs with power greens. They have a varied diet. They love fresh fruits also.

I comically refer to Nutri-Berries as "Crack for Cockatiels"! Why? Because my cockatiels LOVE them more than any other food (except, perhaps Kaytee Honey Treats, which they only get on Saturdays and holidays). They will wait for me to put them out, even when other food is available. Their loyalty and devotion to this food product stands out from the competition, to be sure! You simply can't go wrong with this food item!

Let me start out by saying that I own a larger than average amount of birds. I own a African Grey, an Amazon, a Indian Ring-Neck, a Conure, and a few Parakeets. All of my birds absolutely love these treats. As soon as my African Grey, Luna, sees the container her pupils start to constrict and dilate from excitement. When my silly Amazon, Nacho, starts to eat these he starts singing and bobbing his head up and down (it's the cutest thing). I am so happy I found this bird food on Amazon because I finally found a blend all of my birds like which saves on cost and storage. I have tried countless different seeds and pellets and nothing compares to Lafeber's Nutri-Berries. I have been using the product for about two years now and can attest that the health of all my birds is optimal. My local vet always compliments the weight, size, coat, and just overall mood of all my birds. The omega oils added to this bird food really does wonders to make the bird's feathers nice and shiny. This bird food along supplemented with fresh fruit and vegetables is all your birds need. I highly recommend buying this product but if you are hesitant on buying such a large tub (4 lb.) Lafeber's does sell a variety of sizes (both pellet size and amount) so you should check them out. The food stays fresh as it is in a plastic container and is a easy clean up!

This size is not just for cockatiels. I give them to all my birds because they are a great size -- not too big, not too small. I have been using them for years and all my birds have been very healthy. Of course, this is not the only thing I feed them. A great alternative to seed and usually less mess. It depend on your bird and if they eat everything in the Nutri-Berry. You can also use them as treats. My African Grey will ask for Nutri-Berries :) Even my rabbit begs for them.

My cockatiel loves this food. I buy this and Zupreem FruitBlend Zupreem Fruit Blend Diet for Medium Birds, 2-Pound and I swear I have the happiest bird ever. The first time I put these balls in her cup she freaked out and whistled and cooed the whole time she was eating them. She hollers at me when she needs more in her bowl. A big bucket lasts me at least two months, sometimes longer when I mix it with the zupreem. Update 8-24-16: I fill the white feeder, that came with her cage, with the balls and put the fruit blend in a cup attached to the side of her cage. I'm buying another bucket of balls today so that means a bucket lasts six months for me. Not bad. Not bad at all for less than $23! Petsmart is selling it for $30 and the only bucket they have on the shelf expires in December.

It was hard switching my three conures from eating an unhealthy all-seed diet. Lafebers made the transition easy, and my birds love it. My vet recommended them after my hen laid her first eggs. Both the pellets and the berries contain the necessary nutrition for my birds. They still get the occasional seed treat, but they enjoy lafebers products as a staple in their diets, and I haven't had any health problems or minor concerns at all. My one complaint is that it's hard to find conure-specific diets, so I generally give them a mix for cockatiels as well as larger parrots.

Ok, whose idea was it to ask about the flavor? These are for my cockatiel - not me! Anyway - my boy is 23 years old & has been eating nutriberries & avicakes ever since he came off of baby bird food. I sprinkle powered spirulina on his food & I believe the combination is what helps to keep him healthy. This food arrived on time & was so fresh - much more fresh than I can ever get from a pet store.

My vet recommended these after my cockatiel showed up with mineral deficiencies on a zoo preem dominated diet. He said zoo preem is great for budgies but lack for cockatiels. Ironically I had trained my poor cockatiel since he was a baby to be ok with zoo preem as his main diet. It sucked but I thought I was doing the best for him. Then after I was told that nutri berries were the way to go, I tried them. HE LOVES THEM! Oh boy does he love them. Night and day. I gave a bunch to a friend for her 12 year old cockatiel and he loved them too. These are tasty tasty things. And to think they are balanced and fortified, bonus. All I know is that my bird absolutely loves his nutri berries.

As many of you bird people know birds are notoriously picky about eating pellets, the food every vet wants them to eat. Even raised early on on pellets my guys were so difficult and I was worried they weren't eating enough. My birds love this though, almost as if I'm giving them treats. It gives them foraging opportunities and if theres a bowl of veggies they're rejecting (also finicky, at least mine are) I just have to throw a few on top and theyll eat it.
