Our Teddy Bear Hamster is a natural explorer. No amount of cages and tubes could ever be enough for him. He gets lots of out-of-cage time everyday. For times when he has to remain caged, it's great that we can give him some extra tunnels to explore. This set has a nice selection that allowed us to attach some accessories and make him a curved tunnel down from one of his ledges. Like all CritterTrail equipment, they snap apart and put together easily so you can give your hamster a change of pace and new places to explore. A good value for the price and will probably buy more eventually.

Our sons hamsters seem to like it, what else can be said.........Oh yeah, no hamster deaths like others have been claiming with many other product reviews. Our son quickly went to action making a fun use of these for his hamsters! I'm one of those people who will spend hours researching the littlest of things whenever it's time to buy/replace something. So believe me when I say what I say silly....

I like these "fun-nels" better than the Habitrail type, although the Habitrail are more transparent which makes viewing the hamsters a little easier. Habitrail and Critter Trail are interchangeable for the most part though, so I have a mix of both. Background: I have this cage: http://www.amazon.com/Super-Pet-Critter-Habitat-Hamsters/dp/B005FU4Z4W, which comes with a the cage, water bottle, food dish, and a basic set up of funnels to get to the "petting zone" that goes over the top of the cage. Pros of this set: The elbow pieces give you the ability to "grow" your hamster cage off the sides. You can build up and connect them to the "roof" of the cage or to the petting zone (if you have it). My Chinese Dwarf Hamsters are easily able to climb up and down these tunnels. They are skinnier than Habitrail though, so they might be too small for bigger hamsters. The connectors are SO much easier to use than the connectors included with Habitrail. These are simple pop on/pop off, where Habitrail you have to do some magic twisting to get it on the first tube, then some magic twisting to get it on the second tube, which half the time takes it off the first tube...it gets frustrating. These are much more straight forward -- pop them on the first one, pop the second one in place, DONE! Cleanability is good -- I take off different sections a couple of times a week (that have been pooped in/peed in) and clean them out, and then once a week I give the whole cage a thorough cleaning, running all of them through hot bleach water in the tub and letting them dry out completely before reconnecting. Cons: . You need more than one of these sets, or some other accessories, to make it worth while. What is included is shown -- 3 elbows, a "T" piece, 2 straight pieces (one huge one small), the lookout window, and the connectors. This is still a way better price value than buying them individually, but one set won't get you very far. The largest straight piece does connect to the "roof" of the cage though (it drops down into the cage a ways so the hamsters can climb straight up into it), which makes it nice. I plan on getting more of these sets as our St Hamsterville grows -- I recommend these to other hamster owners!

I used these tubes to connect a crittertrail cage to a digging area for my gerbils. The cage alone is too small for gerbils, but with the addition they are very happy. Their food, water, wheel, and dust bath are in the cage area, and they like to sleep in the penthouse attachment, but they love to run back and forth through the tubes to their play area. They have enough room in the tubes to carry things through in their mouth, like nesting materials. Taking the tubes apart is difficult. I broke many nails. But they are sturdy so that's good.

I actually use these to connect three habitats for a wild caught garter snake. It figured out how to use them to move from tank to tank in less than 20 minutes from the moment it was caught. Makes it easy to provide differing levels of heat/ humidity, and makes it possible to clean the tanks separately by capping off tunnels without having to pick up a newly acclimating snake and stuff it in a jar while I clean.

If you are anything like me, you cant stand the thought of your furry little friend lazing around all day, bored out of his little mouse/hamster/gerbil mind. Why not give that little fella' something to do? Drive him mad with all the route choices he can make with this add-on to the Critter Trail cage? Once I figured out that my little guy was escaping to torment the fish not because he wanted out, but because he was BORED, I couldn't help but to add a maze-like feature to his environs. Now, everyday is a madding search for the well-hidden food bowl in his little world. Oh how we laugh as he scurries about in search of life sustaining morsels! Keep your furry friend on top of his game, add these tunnels to his world!

I bought these for my little brothers two story critter trail hampster home. He has some kind of 'panda' type or something. I wa afraid the darn thing would get stuck in the tube because its not the thinnest (even has short hair) but he proved me wrong. Is easy enough to clean because they come apart. I typically rince them outside with the hose and then throw in the dishwasher with heavier items on top of them so try wont end up in the bottom when the cycle is done. They are pretty cheap plastic, the male to the female clip can break pretty easy so you have to be careful, but your not going to find anything better. The plastic band that snaps two pieces together can be a real bitch, but I am weak with small fingers, so maybe it is just me. Overall I would purchase again and would reccomend. The tubes all fit together nicely and there was no issue attatching them to the cage openigs. I jjust wish the little guy would stop through inch his bedding of poop and pee down the tube as some sort of chute, because it is oh so smelly.

My hamster was too shy to write a comment but he is passing the word that he really enjoys it. He particularly fancies the bubbly end when he can observe what is going on in the room. As the pet owner, the tubes are sturdy. They require a bit of a strength to make sure they fit together but they are good otherwise.

These tubes worked great for my syrian hamsters. They love to climb around in them & run across the top of them like a bridge. Granted it takes a few packs of these tubes to really build something fun and creative for the hammies but I have found that this exact pack of tubes generally runs at a cheaper selling price on Amazon than in most of my local pet stores such as Petsmart, Petco & also at Walmart. I also searched on other websites because I was looking to buy in bulk but I was still unable to find a better deal on this particular product than on Amazon. Most offer this product in the price range of $15 to $26 with an added shipping & handling fee but I was able to purchase mine here for $12 with free prime shipping! Can’t beat that deal  As far as the quality of the tubes, they are made very sturdy to where they will not easily fall apart while your hamster is running around in them but this does make for a slightly difficult connecting process & a bit more challenging disconnecting of the tubes. Though if done in a patient and gentle manner, these tubes can be taken apart and reassembled without too much hassle and without breaking them. The magic is in the plastic ring at the end of each tube. You just have to not yank them apart as this can cause breaking or chipping of the tube. Also if you have a hamster that likes to devour plastic & munch on it for a chew toy, it is good to provide them with some sort of wooden snack hut or chew block to help detour them. If that doesn’t work then you can rub some vinegar or lemon juice in the area which they are chewing away & they will most likely lose interest & stop eating their tunnel highway. I would definitely recommend this product to any hamster owner looking to help entertain their critters!
