good for what it does.
My two winter white hamsters love to roll around my room in their balls. Advertised as glow in the dark, it doesn't seem to but that's not much of a problem or concern to me. I wanted something that would be easy for my hamsters to see out of. I also like the slight color to it. The first one was so good, when one of the 5in run around balls I had broke, I knew i needed to get another one like this. the one con is it's hard to take apart to clean :/

It locks into place. You can take it apart ...
It locks into place. You can take it apart in half to clean it. If you use it on cement it will scratch the ball. The holes are small enough that hamster poop doesn't come out if your pet happens to do that while in it.

Robo Dwarf Hamster APPROVED!
My daughter’s robo dwarf hamster LOVES this ball! When we place the opening to his cage door, he eagerly scurries inside and has so much fun exploring the livingroom and kitchen. We make sure to return him to his cage for water and sustenance every 30 minutes, but he is very pleased to return to the ball as much as we will allow. Despite frequent bumps into funiture or walls, we have experienced no problems whatsoever with the ball opening, though to be safe we have taped the 2 sides of the ball shut. The small entrance where the hamster enters securely locks into place and we haven’t had any issues with it coming open.

the hamster ball is awesome the little ratty LOVES IT
the hamster ball is awesome the little ratty LOVES IT.. he runs around and explores our whole downstairs now & it has no holes big enough for him to chew things like some of these hamster balls designs so thats a big PLUS I had read alot of reviews on other brands of these balls that warn people that the hamsters can chew things from inside the ball because they can fit their mouths thru the air holes but NOT with this one..i checked to make sure id recommend this ball to anyone with a rodent they seem to like to run around & they have such high energy thats its probably good for them mine zips around so fast now he seems to like it be careful not to leave this near any open doors or steps they move very very fast in these balls

Cutest thing ever
A new hamster owner, I got this for my dwarf Winter White hamster. She's tiny so she fit perfectly in the ball. I was initially worried that the ball could come open when I wasn't looking but this one is pretty good quality. It's easy to clean and my hamster loves it. She looks cute running around in her little pink ball.

lid stays on, size is good for robos, makes mine very happy
tl;dr version: Lid stays on. Size (5 inch) is good for my roborovski. Will enrich your hamster's life! I suspect that people who are saying the lid falls off have actually put it on the wrong way (rotated) like I once did, resulting it in falling off. My two month old female roborovski (smallest of the dwarf hamsters) took to this ball like a fish to water. She enthusiastically explores any room I put the ball in. In doing so, she bashes into things at full speed, yet the lid has never come off. (I've used it so far for probably about dozen 5-10 minute sessions). That's really nice because it means that, even though I still keep an eye on her while she's in it, I can multi-task while doing so. Sometimes I don't even have to look; I just listen for bumps every ten seconds or so. Random, but perhaps noteworthy: I noticed that she is able to lick things through the air slots in the ball. I'm glad she can smell and even taste things in the room that she encounters, since that must enrich the experience for her a bit. I highly recommend hamster balls, in general (and this one in particular, since I have no complaints about it) because I can't even fathom how much of a difference this thing has made in my hamster's little life, which would otherwise consist of her being in her cage or being within two feet of my hands. Having seen her in it, I feel like a ball is not just a nice extra but a must-have, like a wheel and water bottle. On a final note: It's even entertaining for the owner! I love watching her problem-solve, like figuring out that she needs to pick up speed in order to successfully roll over the extension cable, or how to get herself out when she's gotten herself sort of stuck somewhere.

Great ball - would have been greater if my hamster actually ran in it
What an awesome hamster ball! Well-constructed and and perfectly sized. My dwarf hamster fit very nicely in here with lots of room to run around. Now, if only she would have run around. Perhaps some instructions on how to teach hamsters to run in hamster balls would have been prudent. (Or maybe it was just my hamster.) 5/5 stars - great hamster ball, easy to use.

Our hamster loves it!
This thing is a lot of fun. Our dwarf hamster seems to love it. It is the perfect size for him. My kids love watching him roll all over the kitchen.

Our dwarf hamster loves it!
This is the best thing since sliced bread for little critters. I dwarf hamster runs around like a maniac in it and apps he loves it. As a matter of fact, if she escapes her cage I daughters just put a little ball out on the floor it should come right over to it wanted to get in!

Wonderul little hamster ball
Functions perfectly for our dwarf hamster. Allows her more than enough space to run and she's slammed into a few walls and doors (supervised of course) and it hasn't broken yet. Also very easy to clean.
