Exquisite Set Of Blocks!
I purchased this set of blocks for my grandson after reading many reviews of block sets. I'm so glad I did my research, as this set of blocks is far far superior to any other set of blocks I have ever seen. The pieces are large and smooth and heavy. It does include a little book that gives examples of things to build. Keep in mind that this is only one set that this company sells -- they have many other style sets. This one is the castle set -- there are race track sets and quite a few others. These blocks were pricey but worth every cent. They also include a huge cloth bag with handles to store the blocks in with a cute design on it of a child building a tower. I love the bag. My grandson played with the blocks right away, then took them to my office and played with them there, then took them home and started playing with them there. I am completely happy, and will be purchasing another set very soon.

I can't say enough good things about this set of blocks
I can't say enough good things about this set of blocks. The size of these blocks are fantastic. A bunch of different types included. You get a lot of blocks for the price. Quality seems great so far. We've bought other HABA products in the past, and always enjoy them and, got a lot of life out of them. Highly recommend.

Amazing quality, worth every penny
I was hesitant to spend so much money on wooden blocks, but after reading the reviews I decided I would give them a chance. I couldn't be happier! The pieces are all uniformly made, smooth as silk, and high quality wood..not pressed particle board! These blocks are holding up so well to the abuse my toddler inflicts upon them, (he loves knocking them down and beating them against each other...) I am almost confident they will still be usable when he has kids!

Haba Blocks
These blocks are wonderful. I have 3 yr old and 15 months old. And they both love to play with the blocks. I like that the blocks are natural and come in so many different shapes. We have colored blocks (non-Haba) too but both girls never played with those. The blocks are very smooth. My 15 months old likes to build towers from different shapes and brake them. My 3 yr old is more complicated. She builds Dora house, then it becomes hospital, then tower. She also like to build roads from those blocks. I highly recommend Motley World set as addition to these blocks. Even though it is extra-large set, it is just right for our family. I would say it just right for two toddlers or one child to explore endless possibilities of these blocks. I always was a fan of lego duplo, but I like these blocks even more.

High quality blocks
There are unique shapes in this package that make playing with blocks more enjoyable and all are precision cut. This is our second order of these blocks because we have two boys and they needed more, To be honest they favor HABA and don't have any interest with their M and D blocks (which are also good) when given a choice.

Expensive, but AMAZING quality!
We already have the multicolored basic blocks for toddlers. I ordered these back in April for my toddler, who will be 3 in August. He was really atarting to get creative with the basic blocks, but we needed more. These blocks have the same amazing quality and the colored onea blens right in because they are the same size. This set appeals to everyone from age 0+ to 100+. We plan to add more. I could have bought cheaper blocks, but with Haba, I know they don't have toxins and will last years and years and years. I could easily see college engineering and architecture majors usibg these for their studies. :-)

Pricey but absolutely beautiful - yep, I'm talking about wooden blocks
So, I'm seriously about to review some wooden blocks? YES I AM! These blocks are the best quality wooden blocks I've seen. If they weren't so dang expensive I would order a few more boxes. Now only do they provide you with some interesting shapes that aren't found in normal wooden block sets, but the blocks themselves are absolutely beautiful. Super soft, no splinters, heavy and sturdy, and it comes with a nice canvas bag, for when you want to take your wooden blocks with you to Aix-en-Provence, or bust them out on your luxury yacht off the shore of Monte Carlo. But for me, it at least keeps them together in the hallway closet. Anyhow, these blocks are actually really really nice. Just pricey as !!!

Great block set
I bought these for my daughter's first birthday. My husband and I have really enjoyed building structures for her to knock over with these blocks. I have enjoyed all of the unusual pieces in the set and find that they encourage me to come up with different structure types than I previously have with more traditional block sets. I love the texture of these blocks as well (much more "wooden-feeling" than the rubber wood type). So far my daughter is just stacking a few at a time, rolling some of the pieces around and holding them up to examine, but in the two months she has had them her interest in them has already increased. I imagine these will grow well with her over the years.

Wonderful block set!
Even straight out of the box, we knew that these blocks were supreme quality and a great purchase. They are a bit spendy (let's not pretend here!) but they are definitely worth it! They are smooth and feel very good in the hand. They have no splinters or splits in the wood at all. Our whole family enjoys building with these beautiful blocks!

Love the HABA blocks and marble run
Love the HABA blocks and marble run. We love that they all work together too. These blocks are gorgeous, but strangely have a very strong "glue" smell that is taking forever to air out. It's strange because it doesn't appear to be varnished or treated in any way I can tell. My only minor complaint is, I wish it had more basic blocks especially long ones. There are tons of small cubes. Many might disagree with me because the "unusual" elements are so cool. I love them too, but for building + especially marble run building, we need a lot more basic tall blocks. I would buy as an add-on it they made them...
