Answer: Because she's the best dog ever! But even good dogs get fleas sometimes. It took us a while to figure out that she was itching because of fleas- not just her usual allergies. We tried several solutions including bombing the house, spraying the carpet, putting powder on the carpet, and a flea collar. But the fleas kept coming back after a few days. So finally we got some fancier spray and this Frontline oil. We are finally flea-free. We should have just bought the good stuff from the beginning.

I live in the hot, humid southeastern U.S. Been using for 2 years, no flea or tick issues. They key for success is that it has to be applied the same time every month. If you start on the 18th, do it again the next 18th of the month. No baths 3 days before or after application so that the skin can absorb properly, and you're good to go!

I use Frontline on my dog year-round because of the weather where I live. Any time I've found ticks on him, they were dead or dying. I'm allergic to fleas and it seems like I'm a magnet for flea bites, but fleas die pretty fast if they've touched my dog. I do get bit sometimes by fleas that hitch a ride into the house on my dog and then they bite me, but I can tell they are all dead within less than an hour (because my whole life, I've been a flea buffet and if they're alive anywhere near me, they'll bite me repeatedly for hours or days). My dog doesn't seem to like it when I put this on him, so I suspect it irritates his skin a little. I'm not sure how much truth there is to it, but I've read about cheaper products not being well regulated as to how much active ingredient gets put into each tube. Overdoses of the active ingredient have killed dogs and cats from these cheaper, lower-quality products. Although I really wish Frontline wasn't so expensive, I'm not willing to risk my dog's life to save the money. I stick with this brand because they do seem to regulate the ingredients well.

I have a pug that is hypersensitive to many products, causing severe and immediate life threatening allergic reactions. Spending the summers in the Northwoods of Wisconsin make it essential I treat him to avoid ticks.....it is lyme disease country. Tried another brand first and had to race to the vet due to his reaction. Have used this with no reaction at all. Some people have commented that they believe Frontline has lost some of its effectiveness; I have not found this to be true...and trust me, in bear country we have more ticks than mosquitoes.

I bought two - one for our larger dog which is part Australian Shepherd and one for the smaller which is part Corgi. They did not have many fleas but we wanted to nip it in the bud early in the season. It did the job - we have not seen any fleas and our little Corgi had mites or something that she had been biting at on her tail - that has stopped so the collar got rid of whatever it was. However, after a few weeks, our corgi started coughing and spitting up white stuff. She also just would not drink water. We took the collar off but we also gave her rice as someone said it could be a stomach problem of something she ate. Well, she is better and we didn't take her to the vet. We are going to put the collar back on and see if symptoms return. Not sure yet. Very satisfied with the way it kills fleas and other parasites.

I use this product on my 3 Border Collies, applying once a month. The stickers enclosed are great to put on your calendar as a reminder. I apply Frontline and give the heart worm tablets the same date. When I apply it I part the hair and put a small amount on the skin in about 5 places from the neck to the base of the tail to give adequate coverage. Works very well. I recommend everyone getting their dogs vaccinated against Lyme disease. The disease can be transmitted to your dog within 30 minutes of attaching before the tick dies. It’s a devastating disease and is fatal if not caught in time. You can’t see a bullseye on a dog to know they’ve contracted the disease. A yearly shot is recommended and well worth it. I didn’t know about the vaccine until my beloved dog was in renal failure, dying 2 days later. Although I’ve always used Frontline, my veterinarian said dogs can still contract Lyme disease. So, use the Frontline and vaccinate!

We have been using Frontline on our dogs for decades and after countless hours of research through the years, we've determined Amazon is the least expensive way for us to purchase Frontline Plus. We like the convenience of this package because we receive a six month supply (for one dog). No prescription is needed and application is simple. Please make sure that you order the correct dosage for your dog's weight.

My parents used this type of flea and tick medication on their dogs and I now do on my own dog. We have never had skin irritation issues or flea and tick issues. I have found lone fleas on my dog but once I removed and check the rest of her body I couldn't find anymore. It kills them when they bite. It dries regularly on their back and I wait to reply after a give my dog a bath each month.

As much as I hate putting chemicals on our dog, this is the one area I'm willing to forego the natural treatments. We've tried them before and they didn't work. This product works great as we've never seen a flea on our dogs, despite the fact that our backyard is next to a bike trail where other dogs walk all day long and socialize with ours. I put it on her on the 1st of each month (except the winter months), the day after giving her a bath, just so it's easy to remember. Our dogs have always done well with it and haven't had any allergic reactions, although our vet mentioned that's the reason they only sell the regular one. I choose to buy the Plus version to ensure no flea of any age or size makes its way into our home; with our young children and childcare, it would take forever to get rid of them. We did adopt a dog 5 years ago who had tons of fleas and tried the natural remedies for a few days. When those didn't work, we tried Frontline Plus and voila!, problem solved. Haven't seen one since. I searched around for the best prices and, as usual, Amazon beats them all! Hope this helps. :)

We have tried several tick and flea products and have found Frontline Plus to be the most effective in our hot, sub-tropical climate. Although I am not a huge fan of putting chemicals on my pets, since we have used Frontline Plus our dogs never have fleas or ticks (whereas several of our friends and neighbors' pets do) so until someone comes up with a natural product that does the same thing we will continue to use this and the price is much better than at the vets' office.
