We have a pool and a 20 month old, naturally we know we need to take every precaution possible to keep her safe! We already put extra locks where we could, audible alarms on doors and windows, and are certain to keep a close eye on her at all times. Beyond that we wanted a gate between the stairs to our deck and the pool. We weren't certain if this would work, but it has been perfect! My husband wanted it white to match our fence, so he just sprayed painted it and it turned out perfect!

I bought one, only because the seller wouldn't allow more than one to be purchased. Weird I know but after getting the first one I was so impressed with the ease of installation and how great it worked that I purchased another right away I would recommend this to anyone with pets.

Even though I measured our space this was still double what we needed. My husband just disassembled the hardware on the gate reassembled it on two sections only- it did not even take him very long and it works like a charm. We are using it to keep our puppy out of the breakfast/ kitchen area. It actually locks, which is a good thing because our puppy learned to lift the latch part with his nose.

I liked that these got the job done for our awkwardly sized space. They are durable and at a great price. The reason I got these over others was because someone said that installation took them 10 minutes. I'll admit that the actual steps are simple once I was able to figure out the instructions - only 4 steps. But it took me a good hour plus because you have to drill 4 holes and I didn't want to meet it up so I did one home and attachment at a time because I didn't want to drop w whole and find out I messed up when trying to attach everything together. A bit of a pain but not complicated and it really gets there job done.

So I love this.... We considered another gate but realized that it may not be big enough. We had a very odd angle to put up a gate... So we looked at other reviews and saw pictures. Lucky for us ot does seem to fit. Now as far as it being extended? I dont know that it would be super sturdy. But we have it just barely extended. Also... Make sure you find a stud... Because we had one side not in a stud and my 16 month old managed to rip it right out in a matter of the first day we put it up. Once we redid it actually in a stud.... It holds up to all shaking and hanging off it. Very happy!

This gate works well for our needs. We have two mini dachshunds, 8 and 10 lbs each, and wanted to start keeping them in the kitchen during the day. We do not have an open floor plan but the transition from our kitchen to living room is open and just over 80" wide. It was a tough search for something to cover this gap, and to do it in a way I thought looked good was just way too expensive. If I'm not going to like the aesthetics any way, might as well go dirt cheap. This gate was easy to install and works perfectly to keep these pups on the right side. The day my husband set it up, he put the dogs on the "wrong" side when I came home and it seemed like the little one could maybe squeeze through if she tried really, really hard, but she had the motivation of Mom just getting home and I don't expect them to test it like that regularly (when we use it daily they are on the "right" side when we come home). If she ever does I think it would be easy to create a fabric barrier to add on to the gate - but since they don't test it out, I don't know how the gate would hold up to more aggressive interaction. (We have had the gate for three weeks at the time of this review, and used it almost every day) We don't have a great place to set it aside when not in use, so an aesthetically pleasing walk-through gate definitely has a leg up there; however I'd rather hide it in the bedroom when company is over (in a small house that's just around the corner) and save my money.

Great for blocking a wide stairwell. Easy install. Took about 10 minutes to setup and install. The directions were easy to understand. I did add a felt pad to the bottom of the vertical posts to prevent them from scratching the wooden stairwell. I recommend this gate!

We needed a decent gate for both our small dog and baby on the way. This gate is absolutely perfect and such a great price! Installing the gate was so simple and took us about 15 minutes. Unlatching it to swing open is also very easy, but not too easy. We have a 3.5 year old who hasn't figured it out. My small 10 pound dog cannot get through the bars or jump over, which is exactly what we wanted. Both my cats are still able to get over it, again also what we wanted. It swings open from either side and is also very easy to take down if needed. I would recommend this to family and friends. Totally worth the money!

Seriously, I'd buy 50 of these if I needed to but with how easy they are to install, we only need two and can move them to like 6 different areas in the house! They're very wide, very easy to open, easy enough to step over (and i'm 7 months pregnant). It's so nice to have the little metal pieces that hook into the wall because we can make my daughter's play area smaller or bigger depending on where i'm working in the house. We have the hooks installed in the kitchen, in our kitchen nook, in the back of our (long) kitchen by the fridge where the dog sleeps, and might add more once baby #2 gets here. We haven't had any problems with durability, and my baby likes to shake the tiny jail bars when she gets grumpy. They do come as raw wood and messy hands get them dirty so you might want to add a safe coating onto them to make them last longer. I've been too lazy. My only concern would be if someone had stairs, they might not want to put these at the top of stairs. I'm just guessing but with the way they're designed they do give a little sway (because of the three seconds) and I'd want something a little different (although I haven't considered what that'd be...im just suddenly glad we don't have a two story house). 5/5 all around for a 1 story! :D

This gate is pretty much just 2 sliding wooden child gates with some metal brackets to join them together. As such, don't expect them to be rock solid or to stand up to any sort of violent breaching attempt by a determined child/pet. But as a reminder to (for example) not go up a wide staircase or into a formal dining room, this gate is perfect. You can mount one or both ends either permanently, to swing, or to release and slide/retract, and the way it is set up you can retract either or both of the outer panels. The quality is fine, nothing fancy and it does rattle a bit and has no roller sliders for the sliding part, but it does the job. It is also fairly lightweight so it can be easily moved by one person.
