I have used various brands of these discs over the years, and in my opinion the 3M Roloc is the best. They are really great for cleaning rust or paint on steel. The discs are long lasting and don't come apart.

I bought a box of these to replace my brother in law's materials that we used sanding my tow hitch last fall - that was the least I could do for all of the help he gave me! these are for an air operated tool, so not sure if they apply to everyone, but these are identical replacements for what he had used. I was VERY happy to find a 25ct box instead of packages of 6 from Harbor Freight… Outstanding deal & my brother in law was very happy that I replaced the grinding wheels and paint that I had used from his stock. (One good turn deserves another!)

I've been buying off-brand discs at a local supply shop and ordered these. They were more expensive than the off-brand I've been buying but these are easily lasting twice as long so they are saving me money. Great product for and it shipped fast!

Won’t even consider the off brands of these. These are the read deal holyfield!! These will tear the face off any gasket surface...or your hands if you are clumsy!! The cheap ones breaknoff in the arbor and you’ll spend longer digging out the nub of plastic than using the tool!!

These little scotch-brite pads burn though rust, oil, and paint on sheet metal easily with a good die grinder (I am using a Makita). The pads are quick to replace on the roloc bits: just peel up and turn with the palm of your hand. They don't last too long though; I went though 3 on a transmission brace/mount. To me, they've been easier to work with in tight spots on parts (outside the car) than a grinder and wire wheel. I also get the impression that is was a bit faster a stripping paint than the wire wheel. Also, no wire shards hitting my face is an added bonus. Once the paint is stripped, it leaves a nice easy to prepare surface. Totally recommended for repainting/restoring rusty/ugly sheet metal on car parts. I've heard that they can deform sheet metal if kept in one place too long due to heat...but I haven't experienced that (yet). I'll always keep some around. They're awesome.

THE BEST. GREAT FOR CLEANING STEEL SURFACES. I'VE USED THEM FOR YEARS. I USED YO BUY OFF THE TOOL TRUCK BUT NOW I FOUND THEM ON AMAZON AND AT A BETTER PRICE.

Good product that works like it is intended. Price is really good.

These things work great. You have to buy the 2" head with the 1/4" thingamajig. I bought the cheapie Harbor Freight mini angle grinder that only needs 3 cfm @ 90 psi and a Porter Cable pancake compressor. It's a beast. Takes off rtv, gaskets, primer, paint, your skin...whatever.

Purchased along with the 18730 50g bristle disc. Used for preparing flat sections of previous painted porch railings and metalwork in overpainted and rusty condition. Able to do about 10 hours of manual sanding work in 3hrs using 10 conditioning discs on a mini die grinder 22000rpm. Great results, neighborhood impressed.

Cheaper versions of these can definitely be found, but if you want consistent quality you can be sure of when you're operating something spinning up to... wow, these are rated to 25,000 RPM? So yeah, I don't mind paying a little extra to be confident nothing's going to come flying apart at high speed under normal use.
