Passed the idiot forklift driver test
Outstanding value, even though it has gone up ten bucks since I bought it. I was able to get 2 good coats on my 6' 7" truck bed and tailgate. Easy to apply: Step 1: wash truck with something to cut oil/grease, I used dish soap and a harbor freight pressure washer Step 2: scruff up your existing paint a bit, this can be done with sand paper, a wire cup brush (angle grinder), or a scotch bright pad (included). This just gives the liner something to mechanically stick to. Step 3: clean up the dust from step 2. (I blew mine out with compressed air, then sprayed it down with water.) Step 4: prep the no-paint area--mark it off with masking tape and plastic. If you get this somewhere you don't want it, it is tough to get off. Step 5: Roll it on with the included roller, use the brush to dab the liner in the corners where the roller won't go and roll as close to the corner as you can to get a uniform texture. The "bits" in the liquid liner will settle, so you need to stir frequently for consistency. For the first coat, pour liner in another container or roller-pan liner and seal up the gallon can so it doesn't thicken up--make sure you clean the groove at the top of the can or the lid will stick and you may not be able to open it up for the second coat. You can apply from the can for the second coat. How well does it work? Well, I went to pick up a pallet of 24 100lb bags of rice for a local charity. The knuckle dragger operating the forklift set it on the edge of the truck bed and then pushed the pallet back only taking a small amount of the weight on the forks. It sounded like he was boiling a witch. It was over before I could get to the driver to strangle him. I was sure my four-week-old bed liner was destroyed, but it held up really well. There were marks, but upon closer examination, I discovered it was where the wood on the bottom of the pallet rubbed off on the texture of the bed liner. It came off with a hose. I haven't had anything oily in there yet and I don't know how it will stand up to a little spilled gasoline, but it handled the idiot forklift driver test with honors.

I was worried how well this would stick to the chrome bumpers on my 2010 Power Wagon. Prep work is key, so I pulled the bumpers, sanded them down with a grinder and 100 grit sanding wheels. Cleaned with air and xylene. I'd advise a drill mixer to mix this stuff up, shaking will not work. First coat looked pretty bad after going on... big gaps, uneven texturing. I was not prepared for how much this stuff dripped. It will stick to and ruin anything it touches, wish I would have covered everything with plastic first. It took way longer than expected to dry, as it only about 50F in the garage. Ended up turning on a propane heater to help. Took about 6 hrs to set up enough for a second coat. The second coat went on well, and filled in all the gaps and evened out the texturing. This product will leave a very textured surface, more than I wanted. However, I'm overall very pleased with the finished product. I plan to replace the bumpers in a year or so, but I expect this product to hold up for a long time. If I see any flaking or peeling, post will be updated. So far it's survived the damp Oregon winter and some icy trips to Crater Lake at 20F with no issues.

If you hesitate to DIY don’t application is very easy. This stuff rolls and brushes on like a Champ using the supplied roller and brush is fine. I put this sh*t on everything! My running boards, my bed and my bumper tops and it looks amazing. I have a 6.5 ft bed. Plenty enough to do 2 coats and then some. Make sure you take the time and two coat it. It evens out perfectly then and you get a thick resistant layer. I’ve tried spray ins and others in the past but Herculiber is incredible. I get compliments all the time and I just put on my second coat today! You can’t miss. It is tarry and will stick to everything so get disposable gloves and a disposable suit. It’s easy to clean while it’s cold out and the paint is still wet with just a rag. After that no guarantees so use common sense and mask where needed. Also make sure you buy a cheap mixer for your drill gun to mix it 2-5 mins to make the rubber even. Can’t say enough how awesome this product is. Looks as good or better than a spray on.

So Far So Good!
So Far I love Herculiner! I called their toll free # for some help and they recomended me to put on a self etching primer after sanding the bottom of a 12' jon boat. We wanted to bed liner for an extra layer of protection while gigging & to help prevent pitting of the aluminium. We sanded it down and put some JB weld on the areas that were pitting and put on the 1st coat light and the 2nd coat pretty heavy and so far so good. Pros: This stuff is tuff Cons: Roller falls apart and found it easier to use a regular paint brush for this application.

As advertised
When I first received the kit I thought hey, no problem, this will be easier than I thought. Prep is everything. It took almost 2 hours to prep the bed (scuffing, cleaning, etc). Sucked but was worth it. Tape EVERYTHING. And then go back and tape more. This stuff gets on everything! I probably put down too thin of a first layer but I figured I could always put a thick 2nd or light 3rd on if necessary. I waited 2 hrs for the first coat to tack up. It did and I crawled in and did the second coat. So much for those clothes! Final product looks good though. I let it dry overnight before taking the truck back outside. It's a lot of work and messy, but worth it.

Excellent Bed Liner!
I am really impressed with this bed liner kit. It is simple and easy to apply. Kit comes with the 1 gallon can of bed liner, two foam roller applicators, roller and handle, 2" paintbrush, and scouring pad to prep the bed surfaces. The only thing I did not like about the kit was the foam roller applicators. They worked great for game most part but they would start to wear out on the edges and little foam pieces would fall off and get stuck in the wet bed liner. A few tips for a professional job: make sure you prep thoroughly with the scour pad or 120-150 grit sandpaper (just enough to scuff the paint but not removing the primer base all the way to bare metal). I used 120 grit sandpaper for the entire job. Another important tip is masking and cover up. Make sure you use a quality masking tape for this stuff, it will save you a lot of time in the long run. Once you have masked off and applied the bed liner, take a rag with some acetone and wipe down the tape seam so that you don't have to run a razor down your swam later on, this makes pulling the tape up, exponentially easier! Gives you a better finished line too. A third tip would be to strive for evenness. This is some pretty thick stuff so you'll want to make sure it doesn't run or glob. Make sure to constantly stir the can while working too. The product has gritty stuff in it so you'll want to stir it up pretty good to keep it suspended in the medium. Also, when using the brush, rather than using a painting motion, just dab it aggressively to keep the textured feel that the rollers give. Cleanup is important to do right away with acetone and wearing old clothes and rubber gloves is a must! I got some of this stuff on my arm and it's still on me three days later. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a superior bed liner for the price!

Great product!
This is a great product! I was looking for a liner for my 14ft Jon Boat and LineX quoted me $1300-$1500. I read many reviews and researched the Herculiner product before buying. I could not be more happier! I bought 2 gallons of the grey and saved over $1,000.00. It looks just as good if not better than the spray liners. I would recommend this product for any do it yourselfers!!

Great buy, would buy again!
Worked great, did a "strip" all the way around the truck as well as the fender flares, bumper and grill. It looks great, application was easy (and messy) but it holds up well and adds something to the truck aesthetically. I didn't use more then 3/4 of the gallon to do everything I did, and that was with putting 2 coats on.
