It is exactly what I expected.
It's a rather esoteric tool that I generally use only to pull a broken cork. I use an electric corkscrew or some other variety øf corkscrew but when this works it works well! It has the advantage of no moving parts as well as not screwing into a cork and being able to reinsert the cork into the bottle!

Fantastic way to open a wine bottle!
This product allows you to easily open a wine bottle and remove the entire cork without damaging it in any way. You can re-cork the wine bottle if needed, but it is better to finish the whole bottle of wine, as far as I am concerned. if you collect corks, this will allow you to add to your collection without damaging the cork when you remove it from the wine bottle. Great product. Love this cork puller!

Much, much better than a corkscrew
I first got a cork puller as a promotional item, years ago, and in the course of several moves I lost it. I finally decided it was long past time to quit fighting with corkscrews and go back to what works. This cork puller is well made and I expect it to last the rest of my life--with no more destroyed corks to worry about. It's easy to slip in (just rock it back and forth while pushing gently), and to remove a whole, undamaged cork, just twist and pull. When I first got this I did have to wrap a rubber band around the prong cover to get enough grip to remove it, but that's probably due to arthritis. I also wiped down the prongs. And then I used it to successfully remove, in seconds, a cork which had been pretty thoroughly mutilated by a corkscrew without ever budging from the bottle. I'm very, very happy with this item.

Great gift for wine lovers!
This was a gift to a friend who is a wine enthusiast - I am not a wine drinker, but she says this is just the right tool for cork removal. Considering my high regard for her, I will pass on the info that she loves it and would buy it again or have me do so. Service and packaging were excellent!

Great tool to have for a wine lover.
This tool has now saved the day more than once. For older corks, a traditional type of cork screw won't generally work without breaking the cork. I have used this multiple times now and it's easy to get the hang of. I would highly recommend this item as it's well made and come with a nice matching protective case.

Very good wine bottle cork puller
This is a sturdy wine bottle cork remover for fragile, usually older, corks. If used correctly, you can remove any cork without breaking or crumbling and leaving pieces floating in the wine in the bottle. It comes in an attractive box and would be a good gift for the discerning oenophile.

Makes me feel cool
I bought this on a lark. Opening the bottle with it is fun and makes me feel cool. Everyone that watches me use it has commented that it's cool and classy. I usually drink my wine alone all day and night but that's cool, cause I still feel cool using this thing.

The original and still the best
After more than 30 years of service my old Monopol cork puller that was "Made in Western Germany" finally broke. I tried to save some money by buying several similar products none of which worked as well as the "Ah-so". I also bought some fancy cork removers that are quite large and take up a lot of space in my kitchen drawer yet, when all is said and done, I spent more money than this product cost and was not satisfied with their performance. So, I bit the bullet and spent nearly $38 on another Monopol and am very satisfied with how quickly and easily it can extract a cork of any kind out of a wine bottle. I guess the old adage, you get what you pay for, still applies.

This is the one to buy
Very well built and convenient for cork pulling, especially the ones that break off in half since it wedges between the cork and bottle neck to pull the cork. Sturdy construction (I believe it's a cast aluminum handle and a stamped aluminum sleeve) with a little heft to it and comes with a nice sleeve. The prongs are steel which looks to be different and better than most of the others I saw online. This one is exactly as pictured. I've only used it once for that half broken cork and it did a wonderful job of it. Unless I re-post otherwise, I am confident it will be a worthy investment with a long life.

Excellent... once you know how to use it.
I gave this as a gift to my aunt and her husband because they drink lots of wine. The first day they used it they told me they didn't read the directions so once they got hold of the cork as they were getting it out they tried pulling it up and out right away which didn't work apparently. Right after that they tried placing the cork puller back into place but the cork ended up falling into the bottle! (Luckily the wine wasn't rendered bad because it was a plastic cork that managed to stay in one piece and not disintegrate) The second time they used was in-front of me and once they placed it inside to grasp the cork they read the directions which tell you that you have to rotate and pull. Waa-la! It worked and they love the product.
