In review of the Master Lock 5425D product, I shared it with a dear friend of mine as he was looking for an item like this for his lake home in Northern Wisconsin. He had previously been using a magnetic key 'hider' to hide the house key. We watched three You Tube videos on how to hack a Master Lock lock box. The design of the 5425D makes all three of these techniques (in his opinion) impossible, He had no promlem in installing the 5425D in a much more accessible, but not obvious location. He had some concerns about the cold weather in that location, but believes any good source of heat should solve the problem. He also contacted Master Lock and they suggested some WD-40 for the winter months. He is delighted with this product and its' ease of installation and use.

Having had a medical incident last year, I realized that if my neighbor wasn't home, no one could get into my house! Therefore, got this so that another neighbor, friends and house/pet sitter could get in with the 4-digit number. It is very easy to set it for whatever number you want. I didn't want to fasten it to the house nor the front door, so this one is hooked on a small (heavy) metal table on the front porch, which you can't see until you are actually on the porch. Works for me and is an added sense of security as I live by myself. I will note that it held 4 keys for me, so if you need a box to hold more, this may not be the one for you.

Works well and seems rugged. I use it to keep an extra set of house keys outside when needed. It looks securely onto my sliding glass door handle. Update 4/2017: This hung on my back door for 5 months. Not a soul ever touched it. As with any locks, including those on your front door, anything can be broken into if someone wants to. So as far as how secure this is goes, well how secure is your door even? How much in your area is someone likely to try to break it open? Those are all factors that go into whether or not this lock is "safe". I am using it now at my Dad's house so that when necessary a caregiver can call me for the code and go into the house. This has saved me twice this week from having to turn around on my way to work and open a door for someone. The code gets change after I give it out, and at times I can just remove the lock if I choose. This beats the alternatives. If someone wants into your home, they will get in anyway whether you have a key box out or not.

I bought this because an elderly family member needed care giver to come in. I did read how easy it is to pick the door etc. Well we have an electronic security system and also blink XL night cameras on all walls and so I get an instant video of anyone that comes close to the door. That said, when I do not have a need for this, I will take it out. But I do plan to use an additional dead bolt which can be locked and opened only from inside. Our storm door partially coves the lock. So I am not that worried some one will come and drill a hole. Our neighborhood is extremely secure and there are no apartment blocks and most neighbors have been in the same house for 20 years or more.

Surprised how expensive these were until I got it in my hands. Very heavy duty and worth the price. Easy to use. Changing the lock code is straight forward. I also like that you have to close the bolt before you can lock it. Makes you do things in the correct order. Same with opening. My only gripe is that I do wish it fit more. It is basically one key. I had a ring on that didn't even fit with it. If its a small house key you could get two, but anything else its a single unit. I actually use this for surfing. Keeps my spare key and then bolts to my tail hitch. The hitch is welded frame, so not worried about anyone cutting that or the lock, they would have an easier time getting in elsewhere. Overall very pleased with this lock. Recommend.

• secure • durable • tightly sealed and weather proof, it holds up to the elements outside • easy to open (with correct combination) • small size, easy to mount inconspicuously • good size inside to fit multiple or larger keys After one too many times of being locked out — either through my own forgetfulness or my toddler closing the door behind me — we decided to store a spare key outside in this lockbox. I was familiar with this particular model, because my previous job used this lockbox to store a master key to the building — clearly they trusted it to do its job well and it held up great with different people accessing the lockbox many times a day. For just over 20 dollars, this is a great value and we have had no issues so far (we have had this installed outside for a little over a year). It is also great to have a safely hidden away key for house sitters, when family and friends stay at our house, and to let in handymen/pest control/cleaners etc. when you are not home (without having to hand out copies of house keys). To grant temporary access, we usually switch the combination to an easy-to-remember number sequence and then change it back to "our" combination — this way we are the only ones with permanent access to the key without having to constantly change and remember a new combination.

I am in a real estate appraiser who has a tendency to lock myself out of my truck so I thought this particular style of lock box would be great in the bed of the truck I drove at the time since there is a perfect place in the rear of the bed to attach it to that I can reach from the ground and the cover protects the "innards" from dust and debris. I purchased my first one many years ago and it has lived up to my expectations perfectly. Recently, I had occasion in a rural area I work in to consort with local realtors to provide a lock box that they don't traditionally use for properties I am appraising if I need a key for access. As many property owners in this area are reluctant to hide keys on the property, this was my first choice that I am providing to each office in these remote areas for when no one can meet me there. It saves a lot of time retrieving and returning keys or the concern about "stashing" keys under rocks, etc. I highly recommend these lock boxes. I have never had an issue with them.

My kids sometimes arrive from school and few minutes before I do. This gave me piece of mind knowing my kids could come home, access the key to the house, without us being there. I had a concern about my kids getting home and sitting outside waiting for me. I didn't want them carrying a key with them to school for obvious reasons. The solution was to get a ket lock box. Mount it in a place where it can't be seen easily, and be easy enough for my kids to open, access the key and get in the house. This Master Lock Box was perfect. Very well made and strong enough to deter someone from just trying to knock it open. Very easy to set your custom combination and easy to mount. It arrived on time and was packaged well

I can't tell you how many times I've locked myself out of my place in NYC - usually while running to do laundry at the corner laundromat, or when changing purses! I wanted to keep a hidden key handy, and now have this locked onto the back door doorknob! Keeps my key safe (I've never trusted the "keep it under a flowerpot" trick), and it's great to direct my mom or husband to it when they also inevitably lock themselves out of the house. Also have it in our guesthouse locked to a shelving unit out of sight to hold the keys to our locked owners closet! It's super handy since I always forget to bring my dang key when we go away for the weekend!

The key lock box is working fine. It is easy to line up the numbers. The illuminated dial is great. I spray painted it white and it blends with a house better.-less noticeable. I Really appreciate the weather protection cover because it also makes a more attractive package for the front entrance area.
