if you go offroad, this should be with you
These things are built like tanks, work great and can be used as a comealong if you get stuck and have no winch. you can use it for other things as well.. they are very very handy to have, especially if you have bigger tires and go off the beaten path. Also I'd recommend a base or a small plank of wood with nails to sit the jack inside of a little" nail footprint" for a solid base on weird or soft ground for you DIY peeps. Also a hi lift jack handle strap. Don't forget to occasionally clean and oil it so that it stays good. Mine is in the elements on my jeep year round. I take and oil it and clean it about twice a year. Also I got a cable lock to lock to my jeep as my first one got taken.

Can't go wrong with the quality of a good ole' authentic hi-lift
Can't go wrong with the quality of a good ole' authentic hi-lift. These things are made to last a lifetime. However...I only keep it in my vehicle to use as last resource. These types of lifts are very scary. I carry an aluminum floor jack that I find way easier to change a tire on most trails. After all, all you need is to lift the tire off the ground a couple of inches. A big bottle jack can accomplish the same...but those tend to be slower. Aluminum floor jack is really the way to go. But the hi-lift is there as back up insurance in case the terrain is too bad for the floor jack to function. You can also use the hi-lift to manually assist with vehicle recovery if needed.

2 thumbs up
You need one if you have a 4x4 and you actually take it off the asphalt. Works great and does the job flawlessly. Fits mounted in my bed of my 2011 Tacoma (long bed) like a glove. I've used it 4 or 5 times so far and no complaints

very sturdy, heavy
I had to laugh when I saw this jack as it came out of the box. The pictures don't do this beast justice. It's a large jack, very sturdy, heavy, and well made. Glad for the quality. It will do the job!

Heavy, huge, gets the job done.
I bought this to pull out 3' deep concrete fence post footings. Worked great - in fact I wish I'd bought it BEFORE trying to dig one of the things out by hand! LOL. I had about 10 posts to get out and this was the best way to get 'er done. Less expensive than renting something for a couple days, and I've got it around for the next project.

Solid high-rise jack, good value. Stash it in/on your off road vehicle or use it around the house/ranch.
Great high-rise jack for any need. I put this jack and a few accessories in the optional carry bag so that I can stash it in my truck whenever I go off road or into the snow. The jack itself is solidly constructed and works flawlessly. I also bought the base plate for mud/snow, the wheel lift strap with hooks, a recovery strap, and chain with hooks to complete my recovery package. Works for vertical lift or as a come-a-long with a chain, cable or strap. Now I feel confident going anywhere.

Got the Jack and mounting kit. Installed in 20 minutes. Looks great!
Got the Hi-Lift hood mount kit, Hi-Lift Handle Saver and the Hi-Lift locking kit. Installed it with no complications in about 20 minutes. Looks awesome as well.

Built like a tank, read the directions
I used it to level a small military container. Pretty impressive, high lift, BUT, read the directions so you understand how it works and the dangers as its a mechanical gear system. Its reversible, and if you have 150 lbs on it it goes down with each full lever movement. Less and it drops, per instructions. It can lift a lot but you have to have the weight behind the lever, 170 lbs to lift a certain distance at 4200 lbs or so. It can do 7000 before failure, breaking the sheer pin. But you have to have the weight and also be careful not to get between the handle and jack as that can snap back. It can also be used as a clamp, or puller. Again read the directions first.

Great quality but do NOT buy this for mechanical work, especially for anything other than Jeep.
I give this 5 stars because I know it os made for Jeeps. However, I bought the wheel straps to use it with my Explorer and man... it is very sketchy even on flat ground with the base to set it in. The entire device will start to lean towards the vehicle the higher you lift it. It got to a point where I thought it might shoot off like a loaded spring so I put jack stands under the Explorer and let it down. Unfortunately it did not get it much higher than my cheap floor jack gets it (before it gets dangerous). It's definitely not really a mechanics tool no matter how many attachments you buy. You're better off stacking blocks and using a floor jack. But like I said, its made for Jeeps and trails, not regular mechanic work

won't leave home without it
You won't find a better off-road jack than these handyman jacks. When I lived in Alaska I always had one and I think everyone I knew would have them in the back of their truck .it's strong, affordable and works well
