This food was recommended by my dog's kennel owner after my German Shepherd was ill while being boarded. The suggestion from her experience was to change her food to this Pro Plan. The pieces are a medium size, and I'm also feeding her about half of her previous food - and what comes out the other end is smaller, too.

After quite a bit of research I settled on this food for our 3 dog family. I transitioned them into the change in diet, and all went well. All 3 really loved it! I was delighted, at least until I went to reorder and discovered a $7.00 per bag price increase. I am committed to caring for my buddies, but I have to operate within a budget. Sadly, I have chosen to go with a different dog food and am once again in the transition process. Very frustrating experience.

This is a great Protein packed food for my dog who is a Min Pin. He bulked up and looks very healthy. He seems to like it and doesn't have any issues with it. I wouldn't recommend it as a food you would always feed, maybe like once every couple of months because my dog bulked up pretty quick. We have to know buy him something to maintain his weight otherwise if I keep feeding him this one I do believe he'd become overweight. This is perfect for helping gain weight fast.

I have been buying this stuff for years for my VERY active boxer. It has higher calories than regular dog food and helps me maintain her weight, especially in the winter when its cold outside and she burns more calories trying to stay warm. Her vert told me to use food for senior dogs but that food just didn't have the calories she needed. During the winter, to maintain her weight (and even pack a couple extra pounds on her), I add a powdered weight gainer for dogs (check out MVP K9 Supplements Formula Weight Gainer for Dogs at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GWOTPR2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and she is the healthiest weight she's ever had this year.

We have used this since our dog turned 1. She is a shepherd mix with a lot of energy. Unfortunately, she is not very food motivated and is very picky about her meals (where, when, what and how). She has eaten this consistently and the formula gives enough calories to keep weight on her. She is still “petite” but until she slows down, I know this will get her the needed calories. Aside from trying to keep her weight up to normal, she is very healthy. Bloodwork is perfect, skin and coat beautiful, bright eyes, and sharp as a tack. And, of course, lots of energy. No digestive problems at all and her visits outside don’t yield any big messes. As long as they keep making this, we will keep buying. And subscribe and save makes it even more affordable - along with only having to bring the big bag from the porch compared to a trip to the store.

I switched my dogs to this food because of diet related DCM from boutique food manufacturers and grain free diets that appear to be causing DCM in many many dogs. Although they aren’t sure they think too many legumes and pulses are the issue. That being said I switched my dogs 3 months ago to this food. My dogs love it. Like it’s dog crack or something. But their coats are now so shiny and sift and their breath is better and they are both much more active and happy. I can’t say the food makes them happier but it sure seems like they have been happier since I switched them.

After dogs became comfortable with the scent - they all LOVED this. I purchased this for the first time March 2018. The food has a strong smell of fish. We have an 11 month old Doxie mix, a 13+ year Golden Mix and Great Danes they all loved it after them gave it a shot. Just mix with your pets favorite flavor of Purina and they will eat it. I will have to get this again.

Love this food for my husky puppy he’s 3 months old, started him on ol’ roy puppy food, which was garbage, he had diarrhea really bad, knew he needed to be switched asap, so I bought a small bag of purina one to last him til I could order this, he did alright with that, no longer had diarrhea, instead he puked and had really bad gas, but on this he doesn’t poop too much, he doesn’t have any gas, he hasn’t puked and it seems to last a while, I have it in an auto feeder and have only filled it twice so far, the rest is in a storage container and it’s half full!

Dog was overweight and itchy with flaky skin. Coat is shiny, better body condition. She took right to it..so long Pedigree! UPDATE: Aug 2018. Tried Beneful Salmon, bad move. My APBT blew her coat on it and had flaky skin again. Lesson learned, will be buying only this from now on! UPDATE #2: March 2019 Still the best kibble for my APBT.

My dogs (two Rottweiler puppies) one is 6 months and the other is 4 months old, both love this food. I mix with warm water or warm chicken broth and a teaspoon of yogurt (active cultures of course) and they lick the bowl clean. This happens even without the yogurt (in case your were wondering). My Veterinarian recommended this food for my puppies because it is research tested. He also recommended adult dog food and not puppy food. Said that the puppy food has too much protein and large breed dogs may grow too quickly for their bones. It may not be top-of-the-line dog food but I've tried other, more expensive dog foods that only gave my dogs diarrhea which didn't resolve over time. I have purchased the chicken and rice, beef and rice, and lamb and rice formulas. Doesn't matter, they wolf it down and look at me as if I didn't give them enough. I feed them 3x per day/2 cups each (cause they are puppies). Their coats are shining, stools are firm and I see less discharge from their eyes with this food. They also tend to eat less grass with this food than with others I've tried. Justis is a 6 month old German/American Rott mix and a whopping 46 lbs. Elyon is a 4 month old full bread German Rott and a whopping 43 lbs.
