Needed this for 2 male cats that I rescued after they were abandoned. Both had urinary crystals, most likely from temptation treats and friskies food their previous owner was feeding them. When the bag of prescription urinary formula was finished, Vet said to try a store bought urinary formula to see how they do. He also said ALL male cats should be on a urinary formula food, as they are prone to urinary crystals. Cats are doing great on the Purina, saving me from the expense of prescription food. Great price. Fast shipping. No problems.

Been using this cat food for a couple years since one of my cats developed a kidney stone. After dealing with that and talking to the vet and being prescribed an expensive brand of food, I took research and matters into my own hands. Since I did not want to have to feed my 3 cats 2 different types of food, I had to economize and figure out the best thing to accommodate the urinary challenged one. A bit of research determined that other than some base ingredients (chicken/beef/lamb/etc) the core "difference" between standard cat food and urinary tract style is more or less the reduction/elimination of magnesium. Armed with that knowledge, I set out on a quest to find something to replace the Hills Prescription C/D my vet was raking me over the coals financially. While I will agree the Hills brand food is more than likely higher overall quality and probably is "better", this Purina formulation matches close enough (particularly on the magnesium content) that I prefer this for my cats. It sits squarely at the intersection of value and performance as all three of my cats have been on this particular food for several years now and are as healthy as ever. The one that was prone to crystals forming in its bladder (ie the 2000 dollar cat) has not occurred since and shows no signs of recurrence in subsequent visits.

Our cat was having problems with crystals - frequent urination, squatting and leaving little spots in all kind of unfortunate places around the house. The vet put her on an antibiotic and prescription food, which made the problem go away. Switched over to this to maintain, and it has done a great job. She likes it, and no more issues. Bonus - it's WAY cheaper than the prescription food.

This cat food saved my cat from being put down. My Sphinx was urinating blood. The vet told us there was nothing they could do and should be put down because of the pain. I had done a great deal of research and came across this cat food. Within a week he stopped urinating blood and has never done it again. I was so greatful!! I have this delivered on automatic delivery. It literally saved my cats life.

My cats were having urinary issues such as crystals. I immediately put them on this product and the Urinary Plus herbal remedy. Both these products are dissolving the crystals. Please feed your male cats & female cats this food. Store bought dry food causes this problem! Make sure you always buy urinary tract health dry food. This food lowers the minerals and pH level so the crystals can't form. If your cat urinates outside the litter box and strains to pee especially if your cat cries while trying to urinate, you will need this product! To help the pain purchase the Homeo Pet urinary plus herbal remedy. If cats don't drink enough water they become dehydrated. Get a water fountain to encourage drinking more. Dehydration causes urinary crystals. I will be using Purina healthy urine dry food permanently.

My somewhat-senior cat came down with a Urinary Tract Infection a couple of months ago. After a trip to the vet, I bought some expensive dry food that was supposed to help with UTIs. After seeing the price, I decided to look for a more cost conscious way to provide better nutrition to my cats. This UTI formula cat food provides nearly the same nutrition as the much more expensive prescription foods. None of my cats have had a UTI since we swapped them over to this UTI formula food from Purina.

Very good quality cat food for cats with urinary tract problems. My cat had a struvite bladder stone removed a few years ago - the Vet. recommended Science Diet c/d canned and dry which my cat hated. I tried different brands of canned and dry foods until I found the combo which my cat likes. The canned is Sheba moistened with extra water and Purina One Urinary Tract served at night. I learned it is extremely important to feed you cat as much 'wet' food as possible, since bladder stones tend to develop in cats fed exclusively dry food. That's why moistening canned food is necessary. A good website for those interested in reading more about feeding cats with Urinary Tract issues is: http://www.catinfo.org/?link=urinarytracthealth The only negative is the price Amazon charges for this food. $37 for a 7lb bag is ridiculous. $22 for a for a 16lb bag is better, but that's an awful lot of cat food sitting around for months. I just bought a 3.5lb bag at my local grocery for $5.99 with a $2 off coupon from the Purina site.

After one of our male cats had to be hospitalized for a urinary obstruction, the vet told me that he could only be fed canned food from that point forward. Because I have 4 cats, and free feed dry food, it was not practical to only feed one cat canned food, nor was it affordable to feed them all only canned food. I did some research and found a lot of positive reviews from people with cats who had also had obstructions and subsequently did well with this food. We decided to give it a try, and 2.5 years later my cat that initially had the problems is doing just fine (and the others are doing great, too). One of our other cats that always had shabby looking fur has a healthy, shiny coat now. All 4 cats split one can of cheap, grocery store brand canned food twice a day, and they have access to the Purina One Urinary Tract dry food the rest of the time. It has worked wonderfully for us, and hopefully will work for others too. I wish we had always fed them this dry food in order to avoid any potential problems, and will probably stick to this for any future cats we have.

Cat likes it. Was feeding UrinaryCo prescription food but this seems to be very similar. Don't quote me on this. If your cat has had fatal bladder crystals (blocked bladder) (frequent trips to litter box with little urine) like mine had and you can afford the prescription Vet food by all means buy it!!. If youre looking a UrinaryCO alternative and can't afford the Vet food, try this. I've been using it for about a year now and my Cat seems to be doing fine but he mainly eats 1 and 1/2 can of wet food with bottle water added a day and this is for him to snack on in between meals. Do your homework when it comes to replacing anything other than what your vet prescribed.

For years I paid for royal canin S/O, due to my cats never ending struggle with urinary crystals. This food has since replaced S/O as a maintenence diet, and it certainly has done the trick! He has not had an crystals in his urine on this food. This food is a cost-effective alternative to S/O or Purina UR. Plus my cat LOVES this food! That being said, I would consult your veterinarian before making the switch. I will order this food again.
