I selected the fan based upon a review I’d read in wirecutter.com that I found to contain very practical and thoughtful advice. With the hundreds of fans out there from which to choose, if ultimately you just want a fan that looks good, is reasonably priced (especially when you consider that it comes with a light), easy to install, does its work efficiently and quietly, this one is for you. I purchased two of these fans for a couple of sun-drenched rooms and they are everything I’d hoped. Although I’ve installed many ceiling fans over the years, I was initially a little confused by a couple of things: how to screw the fan blades on because the light component blocked access to the screw holes (which, if I’d read the simple instructions more closely, showed how to access the screw holes through an opening in the light component) and how to stuff the six feet of wiring into the fan/ceiling opening after I connected it to the power source. After squeezing the wire bundle in with the first fan, I took a leap of faith with the second fan and just cut five feet of the wires off which left me with more than enough length to connect them to the house wiring and no need to deal with all the excess. In sum, the fans (and lights) came with all the parts necessary to install them, were not hard to install, and work great. They will be my go-to fans in the future if I ever need to buy more.

Love this fan! We bought two of these - one for our living room and one for our kitchen. While the light isn't as bright as we'd like for the kitchen (large kitchen and vaulted ceilings, so we bought a 24" down rod), we have enough under-cabinet lighting that it isn't a big deal. This would be easily solved by purchasing brighter LED lights, I'm sure. We have no issues with the fan being noisy or wobbling like other reviewers have complained about. I'd definitely recommend this sleek and modern ceiling fan!

I love this fan! It's very quite even on high. It doesn't wobble & it just looks fantastic in my house. It doesn't give off a lot of light but I didn't expect to with the small light bulbs & glass cover. I really bought it for the style & couldn't be happier!

Attractive, modern looking, extremely quiet, well balanced and moves the amount of air needed to help make my bedroom comfortable. To me it is far better looking than those fans with three lights dangling from the bottom of the fan. Buy the best feature is the price when compared with the most popular fans. I intend to buy another soon. Why pay much more far a ceiling fan when this one does the job very well. It was easy to assemble if one reads the instructions and follows them. I can’t think of any reason for criticizing this fan and am awarding it five stars.

I see a lot of complaints on here about hard assembly, humming, and other issues. We had none of those. It was much easier than another fan we installed to find out it was broken. We installed it in little under an hour. The fan looks great and has no hum. Again, maybe the others are using a dimmer switch or something. It's rock solid and looks great. Besides, it's much less expensive than most comparable fans at the local hardware stores. However, we did run into one issue. IF THE FAN HUMS BUT BLADES DON'T TURN - don't freak out. It's possible to pull out some wires from the little plastic clip that connects the fan part to the light part. Make sure those wires are pushed into the harness all the way. Once we did that, the hum went away and the blades began to turn! I saw the answer on stackexchange but reposted it here.

Just as described and exactly what I needed. I had to use a longer down rod with mine because I have vaulted ceilings.

Easy to install and looks really modern! We got a wall switch which controls low, medium and high. I got the black and it fits great with my decor. The fan helps circulate air and has helped keep our house cool this summer. FYI the light bulbs it comes with are not dimmable.

Really thrilled with this fan. Its totally silent with the flush mount. The light is great and the air it's pushing is perfect. Comes with like 10ft of extra wire if you really need it. Much better than the crappy one the previous owners installed!

I really wrote this review to co-sign that the 40 watt bulbs that our included are not bright enough to light a bedroom, but I found some bulbs that were. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C3LV9ZZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I swapped out two of these, and they fit with room, and its amazing, lights up the whole room. Now about the build, its a solid fan, but attaching the fan blades, and even attaching the blades to the arms is a pain. This fan easily takes an hour to put together and hang, and I'm good at this type of work, but looks great.

So far this a great fan. We replaced an old (1990's era) Hampton Bay 4 blade fan of the same size (52") with this one. This fan is superior in every way a fan can be superior. It moves what feels like 2x as much air (mounted on a 6" or 7" downtube), it is at least 10x quieter than the old one, especially on low speed. High speed is pretty quiet as well. The old fan had one incandescent light bulb, however we had replaced it with a 20w cfl bulb which we left bare in order to maximize the light output. The Westinghouse Comet uses two smaller bulbs (they call them candelabra bulbs, 40w each) which, when turned on to high, are at a minimum just as bright as the single bare cfl bulb. It feels brighter to me though, and the Comet definitely has better light spill to the sides, meaning it gets light to a larger area than the old cfl bulb did. The only thing that would make me remove stars is if the fan dies soon. So far, its only been a couple of days, but its working great. Installation was easy enough, if you have put up a ceiling fan before, this will be just as easy. Only change I made was I added my own lock washers to the mounting hardware for the blade to blade bracket connections. There are 5 blades, and 3 bolts per blade, fwiw, make sure you have a way to secure the hardware. The way they ship the fan, the directions say you should check the hardware 2x per year. Cheesy way to leave out 15 small lock washers, but its an easy fix. Id assume blue lock tight would also work well. I am so impressed by the operation of the fan I'm going to leave all 5 stars on my rating, despite the hardware issue. Finally, I also installed a wall switch for the fan that controls light output and fan speed as well. So YMMV as to the speed and brightness of the fan and its light. (note: the dimmer wont do anything to make the light brighter, or the fan faster, this was just a disclaimer)
