This may seem silly to review a staple remover but here we are. I needed to purchase a staple remover and was browsing Amazon for the standard hinged variety that everyone is familiar with. I had never seen models like this Bostitch one. Intrigued I took a look and decided to take a gamble on it, it's a staple remover, if it sucks, it sucks, it's not going to ruin my life. This thing is definitely legit though. I like it better than the hinged models as this Bostitch is super easy and quick to use. The built-in magnet that catches the spent staples is a nice touch as well, let's you keep pulling staples without worrying about where the little rascals are landing. I never thought I'd be leaving a review recommending folks buy a staple remover but these are silly times we live in, right? And this is a great staple remover, definitely an upgrade from the basic model. I know, it looks like it won't work well, or you're weary like I was, don't be, take my advice and buy this Bostitch, you'll be happy enough with it to leave an online review about it. Promise.

I have lots of papers stapled, and I really hated to use jaw-like staple removers. So I ended up using my nails to remove staples. That worked but my nails got destroyed :)(: Decided to try this tool based on good reviews. WOW. I can confirm that reviews here are all genuine, because the tool is absolutely great, well thought out. Pros: 1. Great ergonomic design, sitting in hand very well. 2. Best when number of stapled pages exceeds 7. In that case just slowly lift staple from the flat side, so that staple will get straightened. 3. If number of pages less than 7, than I recommend to pry the staple from the back side of the paper first, and than only remove the staple from the front side. 4. Was surprised that staples do not fly all over the desk, apparently due to the built-in magnet. Cons: Doesn't work well on 2-3 pages stapled (papers can get perforated) but still useful. Hope this info was helpful, and good luck using it!

I am awarding this a 5-star rating because it is, for the most part, fast, convenient, easy to use, stores easily, and handles well.. Many others have commented that this staple puller doesn't work that well in removing staples attaching only a very few pages together. I find that using my fingers to hold the paper flat and firm near the staple allows this remover to easily remove the staples without tearing the paper. This puller really shines in removing staples holding many sheets of paper together. Being very familiar with the older style claw pullers, I find this staple remover to be much less difficult to get under the staple and much quicker to remove it.. Some may still prefer the older style pullers. I find that this one works much better for me and isn't so cumbersome to store and use.. This has become my "go to" staple puller because it best suits my needs.. I recommend others give it a try..

I find these kinds of staple removers MUCH easier to use than the alligator-teeth ones. They are absolutely easier to use for removing staples from flat surfaces and actually even for removing staples from paper stacks. I bought this to replace my old one of these from OfficeMax (broken from removing staple-gunned staples from a wooden box). Don't be scared by the cheap price, it's not a rip-off. The magnet aspect doesn't seem important until you're trying to remove multiple staples at a time and do not have to pause between each one to search the floor. It's large enough to hold with your full hand for leverage but not much larger than a no.2 pencil to store. I wish it came in other colors as it is sometimes hard to scope out the staple when it hits the magnetized plastic base, but that is my only complaint. In essence: perfect staple remover. I highly recommend.

I absolutely love this style of staple remover. It is so much easier, doesn’t mess up the paper, and is easy to grab & use for the stubborn staples. I’ve tried going back to the traditional type, and there’s really no comparing them. These are super easy to use—hang on to the silver part and the staple to remove the ones that just won’t come out. I love the magnetic feature to pick up scattered staples, but those are few as the remover tends to keep those on itself. This is a good brand, and it’s a great deal for just a few dollars. If you’re in the market, this is the one! I hope this helps!

When I first looked on Amazon for a staple remover I just assumed I was going to find the best price on the same type of staple remover I've used for decades, that being the "claw type". I wasn't even aware that there was another option (at least in the regular office supply store price range). I came across this very different Bostitch model, and was intrigued more than anything, and having used Bostitch staplers for many years I thought I couldn't go too far wrong, and the price was right for an experiment at least. Surprise surprise, it really IS better! No moving parts, magnetic so you don't lose a removed staple in the carpet only to be found later by a bare foot, and it's much less likely to damage important documents. I'm sold, and will never go back to the claw.

MADE OF PLASTIC AND METAL THIS BLACK stapple remover is unexpensdive and does a good job. I make my own painting canvas and use or reuse my frames so that is one of my best friends. The schaft is ergonomic with its organic shape. The top part is made of stainless steel and very sturdy. It never has been so easy for me to remove stapples from wood. More over it was incredibly low priced. I think it is a very useful tool to possess. It is very resistant

This is a sturdy yet ergonomic tool. I used it to remove staples from over 60 bank boxes worth of documents, and it's still going strong. The height and shape of the metal tip is perfect. The staple remover slides nicely in, then has just the right amount of width to bend the staple back out. This is much better than any other brand or kind that was provided for the job I was doing. It's well worth the price.

I had something like this years ago and forgot how awesome this type of stapler remover is until I bought this product. It removed the staples off my bulletin board without damaging the items posted. The magnetic feature means I don’t drop staples which is great. I used this on a stapler packet and again the staple came out with ease and without damaging my papers. This is a must have for teachers! At less than $4.00 it easily fits into a teacher’s budget as well. Save your nails and your items - get this stapler remover!

I really like the design of this staple remover! I've always used the claw type and found it functional, but at times rough on the paper and a little dangerous. This Bostitch staple remover was easier to use. It worked best for me by first sliding the blade under the crimped staple tails on the back side of the paper to loosen the staple and then turning the paper over and sliding the blade under the staple from the front of the paper. (It helped to use a slight wiggling motion from side to side to extract the staple.) The magnet is a nice touch. No more flying staples that disappear!
