This was my second time ordering this particular bra, which I am very well satisfied with! The comfortable, full coverage in the back & on the sides is excellent. The cup coverage & support is the best alternative to an underwire bra that I've found. As some have mentioned, the cups ARE rather pointy; HOWEVER, I think this effect greatly lessened after a relatively short time of wear & laundering. I definitely really like this bra for its comfort, support, & style.

Love this “over the shoulder boulder holder”

I just received my new Playtex #4693 (48DDD) model and both my girls and back are super happy. I was quite overdue for a new bra and after extensive online researching I finally found one that helps support my large chest that doesn’t have straps that dig into my shoulders. I know some ladies have complained about the Madonna cone shape; although not really pointy, the cups are somewhat are narrowed at the tip. However, I think that for people with a very large bust size like me, it almost has to be shaped that way in order to provide the lift needed; a combination of geometry and physics! I just ordered another one in beige and a long-line version in white, in hopes that it will provide added back support. If it does, then I’m sold on this model and will continue to purchase it because I’m very limited in choices, so when I find something that really works for me, I tend to stick with it.

great fit .

My item came one day ahead of the planned time which was great. I read a lot of the reviews before i bought this so I do think that you should pre measure your bust line before selecting a size. I pre measured and then i added 2 inches to to that number then i used that number and looked at the sizing chart that the site shows and ordered accordingly. I wear normally a 3XL top so if you order 2 sizes up like I did then it should fit greatly. The fit itself is very comfortable. It is very hard to find a larger DDD cup size so I was extremely happy when this fit so well. The only thing some people might not like is in the front the lower band part under the boobs does fold under once it is on but for me this is fine as it is very comfortable and doesn't bother me . My bust got a very good lift and now looks much better . Also, the side underarm part covers good and doesn't have that bad muffin over flow like a lot of other bras do. It even smooths out and looks good. The back on the site shows it having 3 clasps for closing but mine have 4 clasps which is great as it gives more support in helping to hold up and provide that sexy lift . In all i love my new bras. I brought the double pack and I plan to buy more soon.

Simply Amazing

Amazing! This fits even under my arm, with nothing hanging out. I am a 44 G naturally. I have scars on my shoulders where other bras hurt me, but this bra fit without me feeling any pressure on my shoulders. There will be no scarring from this bra. The fabric is fantastic. It's smooth, and there are no lines showing when I put it on. This is important when I put on summer dresses, and shirts, because I don't want lines shown through my clothes. Another positive feature is that it doesn't give you that cone pointed appearance, but a smooth appearance on the outside. There could be no better bra. I ordered another one for my daughter, who is the same size. Did I mention how fast it comes? It was here in two days. After buying bras that make me drag, hurt my shoulders, show lines, and end up in the Goodwill pile, I am happy to find this bra. It is a keeper!

Highly recommend

I bought many of this same bra in different colors when Amazon launched their Amazon Wardrobe program (I recommend trying that out, order a few different sizes, try them all on and return what you don't want. It's super easy). The bras are great. Supportive and comfortable. Good value, even beating out the price at the big box stores for the same item. Bra doesn't lose its form or "function" as the day goes on, as many other bras in its price range tend to do. Perfect coverage for every day wear.

Industrial Strength Bra

UPDATE - JUNE 26, 2015: I came back to update this review because after wearing these bras for awhile I have come to love them. At first they seemed like a little bit too much for me, and the band was scratchy and uncomfortable. The thing that made the difference was that I got the idea to dry them in the dryer - something I NEVER DO with lingerie. However after just one session in the dryer, the too-stiff components of this bra softened out and it was quite comfortable without losing any of the support. The first time I put this on, I thought it was just TOO MUCH! But I kept them because it was the only bra that I could find in my size that came in a variety of colors. After awhile, I realized that my ample body actually needs this kind of support and when my husband told me that wearing this particular bra under my garments makes me look 10 pounds lighter, I was sold. I look and feel great while wearing these and there are no risky underwires to torture me all day long. The straps stay put - even though I have sloping shoulders. The back doesn't ride up - even a little bit. It is a silky, pretty, and flattering. In fact, this is by far the best fitting and most flattering bra I have ever, EVER owned. So. I am sold on this bra and hope it stays around for many years to come! The original 3 star rating is going up to 5 stars! YAY! ORIGINAL REVIEW: This bra is OK. I find it a bit stiff and is is huge, even when it fits - it gives new meaning to the term "full coverage". I don't like that the cups have an overly "pointy" shape. But it is supportive and my husband says that it makes me look nice in my clothes. Maybe after it goes through a wash cycle, it will loosen up and I won't feel so rigid when I wear it. One thing is certain - I won't be doing ANY sagging while wearing the Playtex 4693! This thing props you up like you are going to war!!! The very best thing about the 4693 is that it comes in a large variety of beautiful colors - something that is rare in bras for large busted women. So I'll probably purchase a several in various colors. Not crazy about the style, but I can't resist a chance to break out of the "black, nude, and hospital-white" mode that most bra styles have me trapped in. It'll do. :-/

It's Playtex. You expected anything less than the best? 5''s all the way!

What more or less can be said, it's Playtex 18-Hour. Quality spelled out in the name of the brand. Comfortable, well made, fits exact to size but with still enough room to breath. Soft and gentle comfort against your body but will hold up to years of use. Seriously. I moved to FL 10yrs ago this Dec. In prep for the relocation and adjusting for time to familiarize myself with new surroundings, I stocked up on necessities. Being a larger woman, I can't just walk into Wal-Mart for clothing needs. That said, I bought a dozen of my favorite Playtex 18-hr bras. Just this past summer I had to start shopping around for replacements, after 10 yrs of rotating 12 bras, that is a good value for the cost! So, long story short (I know, to late) I found them locally, but the price points were from $24 to $49. No way, I won't pay straight retail!!! Just by chance I was strolling through the megapixels of Amazon sales windows. When I found these bras, at this price....hmmmm? To say the least I was skeptical of this cost, thinking seconds or returns. Nope, brand new, still in original factory sealed shrinkwraps. Well packed, shipped on time. RECOMMENDED 5' ''s for product & sale process.

Awesome find.

I was thrilled to find someone still selling this model. It's so hard to find in the stores. The old fashion 18 hour bra is still the most supportive and comfortable on the market for the large busted woman. Its comfort straps are the best invention in the bra industry and I'll never wear a bra without them. I wear a 40 D, a difficult size to find. I was happy to find it here. It fit exactly as it should. The stitching was strong. No flaws and the bra was in it's original packaging. I will purchase here again.

I love this bra

I love this bra. I never thought my girls would be supported without underwire. It is so nice not having that poke me. The band is very wide and does fold up at times. I can see why this would bother some people, but it's only a slight annoyance to me. The straps are super comfy with the little bit of padding in them. I can see how people might think this bra turns their breasts into torpedoes, but honestly the look is very nice. My hubby loves the way my shirts fit with this bra, and no one has made any comments about me wearing a "cone bra." LOL I have washed this bra in my front load machine twice now. No issues. I have hung it to dry, but believe it would hold up well to the dryer. I did not experiece the horrid smell others mentioned, though there was a faint chemical smell I could smell only for a moment after initially removing it from the package. No lingering smell. So far I am very pleased. I will be purchasing more of this brand/style very soon because one good bra is just not enough.

This is the perfect bra for women in need of larger cup sizes

I have had these bras for several weeks now and I love everything about them! I was measured correctly and it all fits like it was tailor made for me. The cups keep me up and do not smash me into my chest wall, like underwires have a tendency to do on me. The shoulder straps are padded and they are adjusted to keep the bra in pace on my shoulders and help adjust the cups. There is no band rolling on the bottom, either! The back fits smoothly and it does not dig into my underarms.Because I have a large bust I bought is bra to address all the above issues. The result: I look 10+ pounds lighter because I have the support I need. There is no strain on my neck, back and shoulders and I am able to move around and do housework, gardening, play with the grandkids, anything I want without irritation of any kind. I love that there are several colors to choose from, including many neutral colors. I wash these bras in a lingerie bag and put them in the dryer as well. They softened up just fine and I do not have issues with things showing through clothes. This is not a loose bra. You will be in place at all times. I do have to worry about falling out as I am fully covered. I am able to wear all of my clothes without having my bra show because of a low neck. I think you will find that when you get these and they are fitted properly you will look and feel better. It will take a little getting used to the type of fit these bras have, but in the long run you will be more comfortable. People like us who have more upstairs look better in things that do not have you hanging out all over the place. You will find that clothes fit better and you will look better in them. The price of these bras is the best bargain, yet!
