Gosh I bought this thing 5 years ago and its still working great. I was building a new desktop recently and thought "boy that unit is old, that battery HAS to be shot by now" so I took the battery out and tested it and somehow its still in great shape. Voltage is good, maintains under a load, nice! Well, back in with the original battery and now its shielding my new desktop from the power dips that happen every flippin time my water pump kicks on for the house (dims all the lights for a split second). Personal edition software they give with it is a little cartoon-ish and not the best UI but it works. Very pleased with this unit.

No complaints, for some reason we are getting a ton of brown outs. The power goes out for about a second and kicks back in. In an effort to avoid damage to my Home Theater PC, Hard Drive, and TV, I purchased this unit. I read the review on the wirecutter.com, and it's their top pick. I have not been disappointed. The power goes off, my stuff keeps running. After a storm had knocked the power out, I woke up to a beeping indicating power loss, however the equipment was still running fine. It's inexpensive, gets the job done and the battery can be replaced when needed. I haven't gotten to that point. If you need a quick fix to a power issue get it.

Until now is working very well. I had not had any failure of power yet, sure I can simulate one but I will wait until it actually happens on real time to see how well the product performs. Anything better than this would be to connect this unit with a solar generator. :) I will make sure to update on its performance for the future. 03/13/2019 Updating my review Today I had the opportunity to test this unit and it work fine except that started to emit a beep signal every 15 sec while on the UPS unit. That can be terribly annoying. I do not understand the use of having a beep signal going off and I contacted the customer support to have this annoying thing turned off. I hope I get a positive answer for that. We are living in a very polluted time. My microwave emits a beep, my dryer emits a beep, trucks from far way doing things that is not of my concern emits a beep. Someone needs to stop these beep world of non sense that only serves to disturb our moments of sanity.

It's like a big power strip, except it also provides backup power on 4 of the plugs on one side, the other 4 are surge protected only. I use it standing on it's end (as pictured) but it can also lay flat. Plug spacing is pretty good, but if you have a large wall wart (Like the one on the Planronics phones) then space can be tight for the other plugs. In general, I haven't had any problem with plug crowding, but some of the A/C adapters are pretty big, so you may want to check size and the arrangement if you have several big ones. Remember, only one side of the device has plugs protected by the UPS, the other side plugs are just surge protected. Look closely at the product pictures to see the markings. I bought one of these a few years ago and it's still going strong, so I haven't had to replace the battery yet. It sits behind my TV/panel and quietly provides protection to the panel, XBox, Roku and a few accessories. It does buzz when there's a power sag (brownout) or power interruption (blackout). It's nice to hear that working when it's doing it's thing. Since these are fairly small UPS devices, don't expect to run a TV and console all night during a blackout. This will protect your devices from the sags and surges that you get with storms but it's really only going to give you 10 minutes to save/power down (depending on your power consumption and devices that are connected). Check your devices to calculate power consumption nd don't put unnecessary devices on the UPS side (e.g. plug your printer into the surge only side!).

My old power supply would kick in when my laser printer initialized. It draws quite a lot of power when it wakes up and I think drops the voltage on the line a bit. The constant activation of the other power supply reduced its life and I had to replace the battery about every two years. I replaced it with this one, which can smooth out minor power fluctuations without kicking in the battery backup.

Excellent Product! As with all UPS units, be sure you know what you really need. This unit is not and does not claim to be true sine wave or a 'close enough to sine wave". For many uses this is adequate and saves several dollars: the choice and the consequences are on you. It arrived on time and was well packaged. I am not using it for, nor is it monitored by a computer, so I cannot evaluate the software or associated features. Since APC was bought out by Square D who was in turn bought out by Groupe Schneider of France, CyberPower has seemed to make better and better gear but I will let someone else evaluate those issues.

Ethernet ports failed after three months. Had to contact customer service a few times and was on hold for over an hour and call was disconnected. Called again and was on hold for 30 minutes. A replacement was sent after about two weeks after they provided an RMA to return defective part. The replacement part was an upgrade but did not include the Ethernet ports which is the secondary reason after the UPS function I purchased this product.

This is like a sleeping monster. Once installed, you never have to think about it. It simply -WORKS. Never a problem for 2.5 years. When it finally failed, after contacting the manufactures Customer Service, they immediately helped me trouble shoot, and then IMMEDIATELY took measures to correct the problem. Unit failure was deemed to be dead batteries. New Batteries being sent out "FREE OF CHARGE". Simply a great COMPANY with a GREAT WARRANTY. You cannot beat that.!!!

UPDATE: 2 blackouts and a brownout, and this thing is a champ! I had to plug in a LAN switch and a monitor to be able to shut down the computers properly, as well as a SATA hard drive dock, and a USB hub. Lasted easily 8 minutes, where it took me over a minute to move the monitor plug to it and kill the 3d game i was playing at the time - drawing huge amounts of power from the battery. very very happy with this purchase! I bought two of these, one with a screen and this one, without. It was cheaper per watt than the other so i figured i'd give it a shot. I currently have 2 rather large PCs plugged into the battery outlets, and the rest of my stuff is plugged into the surge suppression outlets. After plugging it in, it clicked a few times and blinked some lights; after a final click the lights went to "power on" and "protected" and have been there since. Technical info: I draw up to a kilowatt through this UPS, but not on the battery ports. I think i use about 650-850W at the absolute most during any given time unit on the battery ports. Since this is only if i am sitting at my computer, i'll obviously hear the alarm and take action. I'm not yet using the USB cable (provided) to automatically shut down a server... I was waiting to do some research on software that could shut a remote machine down from another machine so my Windows Home Server2011 can shut down my PC if the UPS goes to battery power. Much prettier looking than the APC versions, for sure. The size is interesting, it's about the size of a really small desktop PC, like you see in doctor's offices.

I purchased 2 of these for my home computer and gaming systems. The work perfectly, and have longer battery life than expected. I absolutely love the PC app that goes with them when you hook them to a computer. It allows for easy and intuitive setup as well as a dashboard to give you the health of you backup, the current estimated run time in a power outage situation, and the ability to simulate a power outage and test the unit if down time is a critical problem for you.
