Santa bought this for my 5 year old daughter. It was a little too tall and heavy for her to balance right away so I added some training wheels. They've helped her grow into the bike and get used to the throttle. She really enjoys the speed and torque. She climbs hills her Power Wheels jeep would not have a chance of getting up, even at 24v. Overall, it's a good choice as she will not get bored with it as fast as a slower, smaller, less expensive bike that may have not required the training wheels. Don't forget to count the price of all the protective gear into the final cost.

I purchased this for my son for Christmas. Hands down the favorite gift. He has only ridden it a couple of times because of the weather but so far I am extremely impressed with this. It is a great way to teach your child to ride. Very simple to use and the kids think it is a blast. Because it is so quiet it is not intimidating to the kids to ride. The perfect trainer for riding a larger dirt bike later. My son goes on and on about this gift to everyone he meets. It is a great confidence builder to learn to ride and balance a motorcycle. In a Nutshell, if you are thinking of purchasing this for a child ( my son is 8, daughter is 10. I would recommend this. I am glad I bought the larger this version, I believe the smaller version would be a little small for the kids.

We got this for my son who just turned 7 for his birthday and he loves it! he has been tearing around the yard on it none stop! We really did our reasearch before we purchased this bike And we are very happy we went with this one! I would deffiently recomend it! Also if your planning to buy this bike we looked all over and Amazon was by far The cheapest and fastest shipping.

My son wanted a motorcycle to ride in our yard, but I didn't want him to have one because the noise of the gas engine would wreck our quiet little neighborhood. Then one day at a local store we saw an electric minibike from another maker. My son road it and fell in love. We went home and did some research and decided after reading the reviews, that we would purchase the MX 500 from Razor. He and his sister are so happy! After waiting thd initial 12 hours for it to charge, they haven't gotten off it for more than enough time for it to recharge! Needless to say they are on it right now and having a blast! I highly recommend this quiet, tough, fun dirtbike for everyone!

Bought for my soon to be 7 year old for Christmas 2014. This arrived very quickly and was a breeze to assemble. Per the instructions I charged over night and then tried it out myself to make sure there was no issues with "Santa's toy". I'm 200 pounds and it carried me fine for the short time I rode it. I was more concerned about the brakes working properly, and the disc brakes front and rear do just fine. I then hid it and let it charge till Christmas day. When my son saw it, he flipped out and was so happy. I also looked at the Honda CRF50 but this bike was $350, the Honda was $1100! I figured let's see how his skills develop before buying hi a gas powered bike. My son took to it just fine and I predict this MX 500 filling the gap between a real gas bike for the next 1-2 years. I plan to skip the CRF50 and go straight to the CRF 70 in a couple years. This MX500 is very solid and so far has been rode several hours with no problems. By the time the battery indicates low on the handle bar monitor, my son is ready for a break. It charges back to full charge in a couple hours and off he goes again. I'd recommend this to anyone wanting to expose their child to two wheels without the gas motor investment. I really believe it'll bridge the gap between the intimidation of a gas bike and make it less scary once the child switches to gas. Love it. Nothing but good things to say so far... ST in NC.

We bought this Razor bike as well as a Razor MX650 a year ago for Christmas. Both bikes are similar in size with not much (if any) visible difference other then the color and stickers. There may however be a speed difference...my boys haven't tested that out (that I know of). These are FABULOUS dirt bikes for the cost. We live on about 50 acres and my kids get everywhere they want to without any hesitation. Dirt, gravel, rock, mud, you name it the bikes will do it. The battery life is great too, we charge about once every other week! DO NOT hesitate about buying these electric bikes...you will not regret it. I have 2 very rough boys and they put these to the challenge daily.

Great gift. Age for listed is high. I bought this for a 10 yr old and and he was plenty big enough. He is almost 13 now and he is to big for it.

My son was so happy to get this. I bought it over 2 years ago and he still rides it! It still has the same power and the batteries still keep charge for 5-8 hours. He goes everywhere on it! He was 11 when we bought it. It came in perfect shape and shipping was very quick. Thank you for an excellent product.

I bought two of these at the same time for my 10 year old and 11 year old sons. They are small for their age, but the bikes are definitely not too large. The funny thing is that the bikes also didn't seem too small when I couldn't resist and took one for a spin in the backyard. I'm 135lbs and 5'9" tall and the bike handled me just fine. My sons love these bikes. Everyday when they get home from school they ride around our backyard until the battery indicator turns yellow (about 40 minutes). So far, they have recharged them overnight after each use, but the charger light turns green much sooner than the 12 hour recommended charge time. The bikes are heavy and very sturdy. My kids love running them up and down the small hills and dips and bumps in our 2 acre yard. They go about as fast as a vigorously pedaled bicycle, so I think the 15 mph top speed is about right. When I first opened the boxes and looked at the instructions, I groaned at the 30 minute estimated time to assemble, but it actually went very fast. All you have to do is attach the front fender, the handle bars and the front wheel. It was very easy, much to my relief. Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase.
