I bought this in 2011 before they were panned out to China for production. Mine is perfect and has never leaked, in fact it still is full from when I filled in 2001 for my bug out bag. If you buy this chinkanese version you will have to do some o-ring work to it so it won't leak, but once it's Americanised it will be fine!! Thanks Zippo for falling in line with the rest of the manufacturing world in the Profit over Quality scam!!!!!!!

I am very pleased with my new Zippo Fuel Canister. I purchased it to always have an 'emergency' refill handy, whether I am in my vehicle or in my kayak. I use this to keep my lighters topped off and in the event my Zippo hand warmer runs out of fuel and I still have some fishing to complete! This unit is light, solid, seals very well with no leakage so far, and carries enough rule to refuel my lighter twice or my hand warmer once (if I intend to use it for a full 12 hours). If you wish, this unit even has a small 'holder' for a spare flint. The key ring clamp works well and is easy to use one handed. As always, the ippo quality is built right in. Not only is this unit very useable, it also looks very pleasing to the eye. I would definitely recommend this to my friends and if ever needed, I would buy another one without considering anything else.

Tip: Fill up your Zippo then fill this up. Keep them sealed in a small zip-lock baggie and you won't need to refill in over a year unless you use it a lot. I bought this for use with my Zippo lighters and a keychain peanut lighter. Fills up your Zippo from empty or tops it off several times to get you through a couple of weeks. It's built very well, there are zero leaks and zero evaporation. I've had a full canister stored for almost a year, jut pulled out again and it's still full. I've used my Zippo at camp (I don't smoke) for lighting fires, stoves and lanterns. I forgot to fill my Zippo once before we went to camp and it died after two uses. Fortunately I also brought the canister with me, refilled the Zippo with some left over and it lasted all week no problem. You can also add some of the lighter fluid to your materials to help start a camp fire. I also use it to fill a peanut lighter which I keep in an Altoids can as part of an urban survival kit. That lighter has an O-ring so it doesn't leak and lasts forever. The Zippo canister would probably fill that little lighter close to a dozen times, so if you were to use a peanut lighter for smoking and you use the Zippo canister to refill it when needed, you'd probably get a year out of it before you needed to refill the Zippo canister. The Zippo canister has a thick O-ring on the top cap, and also one on the refill cap. Mine's never leaked. Because naphtha can dry out the rubber O-rings over time, I spread a very light amount on both O-rings with a Q-tip cotton swab. I love that this comes with a quality clasp, flint storage and the little Zippo tag. Very glad I bought it, well worth the price. If you know someone who (still) smokes or likes to use a Zippo lighter at camp, the Zippo canister makes an excellent gift. Cheers!

(I have added some photographs above) I wanted this because one day at work in a field miles away from anyone with a few hours left to work my zippo ran out with no other way of lighting my smoke (did not want to start a fire with fire starter). When this item arrived I was suprised how big it is (thicker than a finger). This is a good thing as it carrys a good refill worth of fluid. The small loop I changed soon as it arrived to a same size snap style same as the large one that comes with it. The rubber sleeve only holds one flint that is kinda hard to get out but it does comeout eventually, the small metal disc works well. I checked the leaking issue some have had (even had a tap washer ready) but it didnt leak check yours. The words will wear off soon as the container will be in my work pack. The canister unscrews seperating base and pour nozzle for filling (thats where larger seal ring is) the pour nozzle also has a screw on cap with a tiny rubber ring insert. The top screw on lid is the actual canister atachment to the loop.

This is actually well worth the money. The last canister I bought was a different brand and the fuel evaporate within a week just sitting in my 75 degree apartment. I've had this one tipped off for four weeks and nothing noticeable is missing from it. It holds enough fuel to completely refill a zippo at least 3 times. The spout is a little annoying at first, just try to only angle it enough for the fluid to drip out and it works really well. The spout cap has a breather hole that is pretty small so if you tilt it too much, it'll form a bubble that you have to get rid of to keep pouring (touching it to the felt pad is enough to pop it). It holds an extra flint really securely. My modded zippo was throwing about an eight inch flame before I cut the wick, it's only about 5 now, so I bought this to keep it topped off, really glad I bought it.

Just awesome! You will never have to worry about wick running out when you are on the go but at any given moment your zippo may run out of fluid or flint. That was like literally the only downside to owning a zippo lighter. Now this product solves that problem. It is so sleek. It is unbelievable....the quality of everything zippo makes. It is no doubt they make the best lighters in the world. In fact when someone says a product is the best in the world it is usually not even worth commenting on because nothing is that much better than it's competition but Zippo is the exception because their lighters are so far superior to any other lighter on the market. This item is very nice. Doesn't leak even the slightest bit. It even has a little holder for a spare flint. Beautiful! Zippo is probably the only company in America that will never disappoint you when you grace them with your patronage!

I carry this in my pocket pouch with my other edc items. It does NOT leak and is an essential item to have for anyone who owns a zippo lighter or handwarmer.

You know what you're buying. It holds enough fluid to completely fill a totally empty zippo once. The little screwdriver works well for changing the flint and the little sleeve holds one flint just fine, even when dangling off my backpack. A spare zippo wick rolled up fits in the cap and doesn't come out and the whole thing still closes correctly. It doesn't leak fluid and when submerged in water empty it didn't accept water. If you're going camping or kayaking this is a great item to hang off a backpack and combined with a cheap zippo you'll always be able to start a fire. Or if you're a Bill Hicks level smoker you don't have to worry about rubbing two sticks together or pressing your cigarette against hot exhaust pipes because of a dead lighter. Either way, worth ten bucks.

This was absolutely perfect for me. I bought this fuel canister because i work 24 and 14 hour shifts and don't always have the time to stop at a store. I'm not the best at remembering to fill my zippos on time and i've had more than one occasion where my flint or fluid ran out and I wasn't able to have a smoke. This fixed that issue in a huge way for me. There's two gaskets, one for the main part you fill and one for the cap on the nozzle you fill your lighter with. Mine has had no issues with leaking and although i was worried about flints falling out and getting lost i haven't had that issue either. This was a perfect fix for my problems and i couldn't be happier. Extremely happy i found this, no more being stranded without a lighter for me. Would buy again if i ever needed to but based on the construction i don't think i will have to for a while.

i bought this to try with my zippo hand warmers. i filled it and clipped it to my hunting bag. after many weekends of going hunting i never had to use it. my hand warmers lasted all day and i just filled them at night from a bottle of zippo fluid at our camp. well after it hung on my bag for most of the season i decided to open it and check if it evaporated at all. when i opened it the container was still completely full. this is a great thing to have as a back up when using any product that needs zippo fluid.
