I have been using it for a couple of days now. It came well protected in its own packaging. The box looks to be very well made. Took less than 10 minutes to replace the old 10/100 box I was using. I did a speed test from my computer and was able to exceed my old box 100 Mbps speed. I am no longer limited by my old 10/100 box. Happy camper!

Quick and easy installation. It does not matter which port connects to your devices. No noise, and the case is always cool to the touch. I have Webpass and I'm seeing an average of 865 Mbps for download speeds, and even higher upload speeds.

Easy to install, routes my devices perfectly to one port on my apartments router. I have a computer, 2 gaming consoles, a smart TV, laptop connected to the unit at all times and have had no problem with traffic, network speed or latency. There MAY be a high pitched noise that can be heard when a device is powered down and left plugged in to a port but most people can't hear it. I can because I am autistic. It is a simple matter to unplug the cat 6 or 7 from the offending port. Not a deal breaker. Every electronic device and light source emit frequencies that I can hear and I am only including this information for other people on the spectrum.

I have to use a wired Internet connection for work so I also use one on my own computer. Since the Xbox and TV have wired connections I needed a switch to accommodate four lines. This is literally plug & play. No messing with IP or MAC addresses, just find a spot for it, plug the AC in, put the Cat 5/6 cables in and you're online! It's so easy even a UCF or Florida State grad can do it. UGa grads probably can't.

It just works! Plug into any port from your WiFi Router and expand your number of ports for 4 additional CAT 6 hardwired devices. I have mine connected to my Apple Airport Extreme because I ran out of ports to hardwire all of my devices in my living room. TV, Playstation 3, Roku and a CAT 6 line that runs to another switch in the basement to hardwire my home theater components. Fast reliable internet!

I needed a switch to connect several components located on a different floor from my router. Works like a charm. You really can't go wrong. Just plug in your ethernet cables and it will connect them automatically.

Excellent! Bought this to connect my PC, PS4 and laptop via wired connection. Works flawless, easy to setup and no software installment. My ISP internet download bandwidth is at 200mbs limit, I ran several test on my PC and this switch did not slow down the connection with an average off 175mbs(blame x infinity copper connection). Regarding connection reliability I have seen much improvement when playing FPS games both on PC and PS4, the switch has never failed compared to the WiFi connection. If you are looking to connect less than 5 devices via Ethernet than I will highly recommend this switch. You will have four ports available, and the other one will be used to have the connection to the internet from your router.

Simple & reliable. The metal construction make it feel very robust. Unfortunately I did not test its performance (I have other D-Link gigabit Ethernet switch around, and they reliably handle around 950-980Mbps)... that's good enough for this low-cost device.

This is a review of the DGS-105 switch. I'm happy with this switch and the price, performance and features. This switch is connected to my router's built-in switch on port 5 of the DGS-105. On port 1 I have my office PC and on port 2 I have connected my NAS storage server. I was concerned primarily when buying a switch that it be able to support a fast switch fabric so I can do multiple things simultaneously with no bottlenecks. I have tested the DGS-105 and I am able to get full throughput to my NAS of 115 MB/s read and write while my PC is simultaneously watching iTunes 4K streaming or Twitch. My NAS works with Dynamic DNS so I can access my files while on travel or out of the house and the switch works fine for this purpose and I tested to make sure this works. Works on the DGS-105. I used some adhesive foam tape to tape this to a shelf in my office because the cables coming out of the front can make it tweak or move on the shelf. I was mostly concerned with concurrent transfers when buying this and it works great on my home network with a really easy installation and good performance. If you're looking for a good switch for a small area of your home or office I would suggest the DGS-105 because it can handle lots of traffic with no seeming throughput issues. I'm happy with this purchase, the quality and the price. Hope this review helps you out. If you're wondering I'm using the Synology DiskStation DS918+ and this switch can support most of the features I use on the NAS. Works with DS file on Android and streaming to my AppleTV over Samba with no issues.

I initially bought a TP-LINK TL-SG105 5-Port Gigabit Ethernet Desktop Switch, 10/100/1000 Mbps,IEEE 802.1p QoS, which had a high pitched whining noise from the power supply unit. I returned it to give this one a try, and it is silent. It works very well and I like the port indicators that tells you whether a port is connected to a gigabit link or a 100M link. It's also very compact and can be stashed nearly anywhere.
