The frame is well built snd sturdy as well- welding is perfect. Lift and lowering action is easy and smooth. MedLine has always been a great brand in my book! Bought this for work from home sit stand desk for Laptop use and extra desk space- does that and more.easy to assemble- tools included takes about 10 min time. ( does not tilt- did not need that option)Price was right and highly recommend this product.

I am a 61 yr old woman with a bad disc and limited knowledge of construction. Having said that, I received this a few days ago and put it together myself. I am sure it took me longer to do this than it would have a skilled person but it works perfectly. If you can read instructions and/or follow the pictures, you can put it together. I use it for my laptop computer. I wanted to be able to stand at my computer some of the time and sit at other times. This works perfectly. The lift/lower mechanism comes already assembled (bless you for that!). If you have children who might bump into this, you would want to guard anything that is sitting on it (the "border" around the edge is not very high but is nice & will keep pencils from rolling off). Otherwise, I am very pleased with it! UPDATE: May 21, 2011 I have had this almost 3 years and still use it for holding my laptop computer. It still does the job. No problems with the lift mechanism which I raise and lower many times during the day. I highly recommend this product!

As other reviewers have noted, the image makes the top appear a pale gray while the product is a medium to dark gray. And the instructions can be thrown away with the packaging material; they're useless. They give instructions for parts that aren't included and talk about a Philips screw which isn't included or needed. The casters screw in, not snap in. Just look at the pieces and use your head (or your husband, like I did). You will need an open end, 14mm wrench to tighten the nuts on the casters. With all that said, I love it. I bought it to use in my home office so I can stand when I work instead of sitting all day. And when my back gets tired and I want to sit, I can just lower it and sit for a while. I'm writing this with the lower edge of the table top almost 40" above the floor. Feels stable and is easy to raise up and down. The raising and lowering doesn't feel quite as smooth as I expected, but it's really nothing to complain about. Overall, it'd definitely what I wanted and I'm happy.

This is the second table I bought. It is wonderful for so many reasons, my computer table, my lunch table or just helping me move things from one room to another, I wouldn't want to do without it. Very worth having.

This table is just the thing for next to my bedridden mother's bed. It's large enough to hold bedside items like tissues, pills, etc. as well as having room for meals. The shape and leg design make it easy to move around in a small area. And the table top stays where you put it. No slipping.

Ordered this and not only did it arrive very quickly, but it came in only the shipping box so no waste there. My caregiver put the table together in less than half an hour, and then when he brought it into my room to set it up we realized that it would need to come apart in order to fit on the side of the bed needed for space issues. It took him ten minutes to take it apart and put it back together on the correct side of my bed. While it does not have a tilt action on it, other than that it's a perfect table for my needs. I can put food, drink, and some of my tech gear on it with room to spare. It feels quite solid and it wheels back and forth (or up and down) as I need it. So for most of the time it is nearer the foot of my bed, but when I'm having tea or a small meal it wheels up to be closer to my immediate reach. And so far it's a table top my cats have left alone. Don't know why, but I'm appreciative. I feel that I put off getting a useful tool towards making my time trapped in bed more comfortable. There's now more room for my caregiver to put things and it's easier for me to access certain items that might otherwise get lost among my blankets (such as hair bands and such). And it feels sturdy enough for me to put my 17" laptop on safely.

I will admit it. Sometimes you do odd things in life that are a bit wonderful and a bit stupid. On the surface what I am about the describe to you in so many words are in actuality both. So I bought my wife a new Tablet PC thing from Samsung. She loved it but started to develop the whole 'blackberry thumb' or trigger thumb I think it's called. So I thought I need something for her to set that tablet on. So I purchase this medical device and pushed it under our couch so she can use it. Well it turned out to rock our worlds because it is located in between a couch and love seat which is organized in a "L" shape. So the table is in the middle. We both use it now, and my cats take turns using it too to get closer to the petting hands. So yes it can hold 3 cats in reality, but they cannot tolerated being that close to each other except for mere moments, but 2 can play 'king of the mountain" pretty well. So okay I have guests over and I know it looks a bit well awkward but it is highly functional part of our living room furniture now. Easy to push together. Medline basically supplies everything in a hospital anyway in total reality so they know what they are doing.

Very pleased with this table. Yes, instructions were not accurate but the assembly is easy. I had to pause during assembly at one point to contemplate where one piece went, but otherwise the assembly was simple because there are very few parts that need to be assembled. I bought this for my sister who had a tray table where the tray could tilt which required a strong hand to tighten just to keep it from tilting. This tray table is awesome. Changing it's height is so easy. Merely pull for up and use the release tab to put down. Also chose it because it is not that ugly fake wood grain that so many are. We love that. Wheels move easily. The back 2 are locking if you need your table to not move. Those locks are easy to use.

I'm a 60-year-old woman and had no problem putting together. I would, however, heed the advice of keeping your distance when unwrapping the main shaft as it has a big spring inside. My advice: point it away from you as you unwrap it. Mine went BOING and popped instantaneously to full extension. It is OK to install it once it has sprung because once the table is together it is only pushes to the height you want. I also advise putting it on top of a utility table as you put this table together. I use this as a side table at my desk and can push it aside to get in the drawers of the desk. Couldn't be happier. It's plenty strong to hold my files that I'm working on. Love it! Edit: Have had it 18 months now. Unfortunately, when we just moved, despite telling the movers that under no circumstances should they take the table apart, they did, resulting in the coiled up piece of metal/spring being released from its recessed area. I stretched the coil with a rod until it snapped into the slot, but the handle mechanism for locking the table in place doesn't connect to anything anymore. It's just loose and doesn't work. If someone has advice for me on how to fix it, I'd appreciate it. There must be a place where the handle attaches to something, but I don't see it. Thanks very much! I love this table and want it working again. As it is, it's stuck in the highest position, and will push down but not stay down.

I purchased this in anticipation of knee surgery. I ended up having a long period of time after purchase before the surgery because the date was changed, so I have had the opportunity to use this table as someone with a disability and stuck in bed and as a "healthy individual"! Its been a useful product in both cases. It works in a chair, but it is great also over the bed. I am using it at this moment to type on my computer while lying in bed (not a hospital bed-regular bed with box springs) and it is very comfortable. I noted at least one reviewer said they could not use it in bed, so I don't know why they had that problem and for me, it has not been a problem at all. It works like a table in a hospital-very easy to manipulate. The wheels are easy to roll and the lifting and lowering does not take effort. I like too that it has locks on two of the wheels-which comes in handy. It has enough room for a laptop, as well as a cup and other stuff. It has indented circles for two cups on the left edge. The base and the table top are sturdy. I will definitely continue to use this table even after rehab! If you need a rolling table for bed or seat, I recommend this product highly.
