You "Butter" Get This Dish

This is a great butter dish. I wanted to stay away from the ceramic ones sold in stores because I have butter-fingers (pun intended lol) and knew I would eventually drop and shatter the dish. I searched high and low for a plastic set and was so happy to find this on Amazon. Rubbermaid is a brand I own and trust, so it was a no-brainer to go with this product. It is great quality, easy to open, and keeps the butter free from insects, etc... I do with these came in different colors, but that's really the only complaint I have. This would especially be good for homes with children. I would recommend this product and I'm very happy with this purchase.

Rubbermaid Standard Butter Dish

Very happy with this purchase. One of the reasons is because this is made in the U.S.A.!!! Ordered this because the cover from my old one somehow flipped from the top level of the dishwasher down onto one of the heating elements; luckily, there wasn't a fire, but the cover was damaged beyond use. It was put in the same usual place in the top rack, but the water must have caused it to flip down. :( Hope they come out with some other colors besides red, like possibly white or ivory. Yes, I would recommend purchasing this.

Perfect butter saver!

I had been searching for a butter dish for-ev-er. I found some glass (vintage) ones that I liked but knowing my family, those wouldn't last a week in my house. Finally I came across these Rubbermaid butter dishes and knew I had to have them! I absolutely love them! They are perfect for us....even the little ones can open them and if they drop, they aren't going to shatter!

I am a butter fanatic. It’s my oil of choice and I cook with it more than Paula Dean. I do not like my butter in the refrigerator and I go through it fast enough I feel fine leaving it out, but I do not like sharing with the occasional ant that comes across the counter. This container is perfect. We take it camping and keeps everything out of the butter that shouldn’t be there. It does fine in the dishwasher, top rack, easy to open and close. I really can’t say anything bad about this. The plastic is thick and the lid stays on

Don't let a bug walk on your butter.

Yeah man, that butter is conTAINED! I guess it's good that the butter platform has a rim, in order to prevent a weird butter mess in case of a weird heat wave or something, but it does make it a little difficult to slice your butter. However, who cares, it's soft if you leave it out, your just stabbing at clumps anyway. So far no butter has gone bad, whereas in the previous less-than-airtight container, our butter was gettin strange.

Lasts for years!

I originally bought this butter dish in 2011, and just now almost 7 years later I am tossing it out it in favor of a brand-new one. The old dish was somewhat pitted from having made so many trips through the dishwasher and the lid was a little cloudy, but it still clamped shut tightly with no cracks or splits! Rubbermaid is definitely making some things to last! This is my everyday butter dish that goes in and out of the refrigerator. I bought this one specifically because it snaps shut and stays that way, whether you grab it by the lid or the bottom. I have dropped this thing numerous times, and it still stayed closed with the butter inside. The bottom is recessed, which makes it not so easy to get to all the last bit of butter with your knife—but it's a lifesaver when someone microwaves the whole things and melted butter is filling it up, no spills.

Useful and cat proof.

It's cat proof. You can keep it on your counter without worrying if the cat is going to get the butter. (Which he could with the three other styles of butter dishes I tried and couldn't with this one in spite of his best efforts.) The top is clear enough to easily see how much butter is in it. It will also be useful for taking butter to a picnic or potluck. Exactly what I needed. I got two so one can be in the dishwasher while the other protects the butter.

Handy butter container for counter or refrigerator

I like to keep the butter out on the counter so it's soft, and wanted something that would protect the butter and look organized. I'm very happy with how this has worked for me. We've tried other butter dishes, like the Norpro Butter Keeper, but this was the most handy so far. The butter dish I received has a clear cover and red base and is made by Rubbermaid. The top snaps on firmly enough that I can lift it when full by the cover alone. It has a tray built into the base that keeps the butter in place, even when rubbing an ear of corn on the butter stick. The tray also has rounded corners, rather than sharp corners, which makes it easier to clean. I've washed this in the dishwasher on the top rack, and haven't noticed any warping. I have found that it wasn't wide enough for some brands of butter that have short, wide sticks. But it fits the butter brands I get most often.

Does What it Needs to Do

After breaking my favorite butter dish--after decades of use--I was glad to find this little gem. Protects it, cleans easily, if you drop it it not only won't it break, but your butter stays in the dish. I do have a separate dish for company, but this is my to-go container now. I keep it in the fridge and bring it out the night before if needed for toast or guests. I don't regularly leave butter on the counter so can't comment as to that. Shipped quickly and great price! Love the red!

Great butter dish for the price

After having two glass butter dishes broken in the house it was time to get something that bounced. These dishes do the trick. The covers lock on. the butter sits in a well so if it inadvertently gets too warm it won't melt all over the place. Dishes clean easily in the dish washer. Two per pack means one can be in the washer while the other one does butter duty. Simple and effective.
