I purchased this for my 2 year old son and so far this is the most useful learning toy I've gotten for him. He loves the shapes. They are easy for him to grab, they're colorful and he loves to play with this toy. What's great about it as well is not only does it help Toddlers learn shapes but also colors. And there are so many ways to play with this toy, from simply having him put the puzzle together and naming the shapes to helping my toddler follow directions. I ask my son to hand me the "blue triangle" or the "pink heart" which reinforces shapes and colors but also aids in helping my son follow directions. It's just an awesome learning toy and I am so glad I purchased it.

My son saw this on YouTube kids and enjoyed watching video of a girl identifying shapes and colors. I recently bought this for him and he recognized toy and began saying shapes and colors. He repeats some of the shapes and colors he is familiar with and enjoys it. I highly recommend this one due to the catchy colors. My son has other puzzle shapes but this one is appealing and colorful.

Got this puzzle for my 2 year old for Christmas. Not even a month later and he has MASTERED this puzzle. I mean he knows where they go without putting much thought into it. I give him lots of praise as he puts them correctly so he still finds it "fun" and seems to enjoy it. Let me say he is speech delayed and only has a few words in his vocab so learning his shapes so fast is incredible.

Our boy (about 20 months) loves it! The quality is sturdy, made of wood. The paint stays on, unless you hit it against a hard surface like my boy, then it will chip... but thats obvious. The colors are nice, and not faded. Only thing I would have wanted is the triangle to be an equilateral vs isosceles. Since one side is shorter than the other 2, it fits a bit awkward unless you put it in the correct way. But not really a big deal.

got this for one of my twins for their 2nd birthday next month. has not been opened as it is wrapped in plastic, but it is as expected, looks just as it is shown. i chose this one over other shape puzzles because of the vibrant colors, maker is known for doing well, and also i saw this one in a youtube video being played by another set of twins who like to put things in their place. i can only expect good things. and as i saw in the video i too will keep the pieces in a zip loc baggy when not in use!

I have been searching for good puzzles for toddlers. I am a developmental specialist and work with infants and toddlers with special needs. I look for easy puzzles that have pieces that are easy for toddlers to pick up. I have always loved Melissa & Doug puzzles because they are always so well made and typically very age appropriate. I need puzzles that are sturdy and hold up well. I toss them in bags and in my trunk so they have to be able to take a good beating. Finding a simple shape puzzle that little toddlers hands can handle is not always the easiest. One of the assessment instruments I use, asks about toddlers being able to put shapes in puzzles. I am so excited to have found this one. It really seems to be a hit with kids. I really like this shape puzzle and have been recommending it to parents. Here are the things that I really like about this puzzle and using it for toddlers: - The puzzle has bright colors. This is great when using with young children to keep their attention. - When you take the puzzle piece out, the picture underneath is the same color as the shape piece. - The pieces are thick chunky pieces so even though it doesn't have the little knobs on top, small, uncoordinated hands can get them in and out. - The entire puzzle piece is painted so that there is not any raw wood showing. I have been using this a ton and the kids really seem to love it. I love that some of the shapes are super easy to get in, like the circle, so that children with a lot of difficulty with puzzles can feel like they are successful.

The kids love playing with this shape puzzle. The girls are 2 1/2 love showing off that they know their shapes and colors. I like that it also gives them that puzzle interaction. A huge plus is that they are really well made and my dog even gives up on them. He loves chewing up toddler toys, especially wooden ones but not these.

I ordered this for my 1 year old to learn shapes and colors. The item arrived in new condition and on time. It is very well made and I like having some wood to combat the plastic toys taking over my living room. The board is probably too advanced for my 1 year old right now, as he really only enjoys throwing the pieces, but I will reintroduce this board in couple months time.

I recently purchased 3 Melissa & Doug puzzles for my 2-1/2 yr. old granddaughter. (Farm animals, jungle animals, and shapes) She was so excited about these puzzles when she saw them. Being the smart little girl that she is, she mastered them almost at once. To make them more challenging for her, her dad mixed up the pieces of all three different puzzles. She mastered that as well very quickly. However, after 5 weeks she is still playing with these puzzles in other ways. She stacks the pieces, plays with the pieces because they stand up, and learns animal names and colors. This was an excellent purchase.

This is a great tool for engaging the oil ones and labeling. Its also good for teaching hand eye coordination and simple commands like turn the car around, pick up, put on and clean up time. I picked up a few of these puzzles and I like that durability of the wood pieces and the strength of the board itself. The images are applied and not painted to the blocks. I've had these for about 14 months and I've seen no lifting or peeling. The twins just turned 3 a few months ago and there were a favorite toy option for them. Sometimes, I had to send them to nap with their favorite pieces. I have used a damp paper towel to clean stains. I'm more than satisfied. I purchased the farm animals, shapes, zoo animals, and construction sight.
