Pretty simple but still pretty fun.

This game I brought for my grandson and he has really enjoyed playing this game, I don't know much about these games, but my grandson loves it and when he come to see me, the first thing he does it come to play his game.. and has told his friends and cousins about the game, I will be buying him more games... Thank you...

My 10 year old loves this game! He gets to create a character from a small organism and helps the creature evolve. It has taught him so much while still allowing him to be creative when designing his own creature.

Great game. My young daughter loved playing the first few levels with me. Hours and years of fun in one game. Easy game to pick up years later and get back into it.

If you haven't tried this game, or you want something for your kids to try, this is it! It kind of teaches them the history of civilization from a single cell organism to a superpower to a space exploring civilization. Fun, entertaining, and overall can bring out a lot of creativity, strategy and brain-use in a fun way!

I have played it about three times now. Every time I play it gets better. I am amazed how awesome this game really is. I have only had it for 2 years. If you like to play open world games I recommend this game to you. The character customization is awesome two. I can never create the same character twice. Never have I seen a game like that before. There are millions of different combination's it's wonderful.

My Grandson loves this game, plays it a lot. Can be difficult for a 10 yo. It was a little hard to download, but our son was able to figure it out.

The kids and I are addicted to this game! I love how creative you can be with customizing your creature as it moves up the evolutionary chain. You decide whether you want it to be an herbivore, carnivore or omnivore; whether it is aggressive or passive in dealing with other creatures, etc. You can even have different creatures on different worlds all evolving on their own tracks then when they get to the space race, can even meet. Make sure you can take the time to design your creature and other elements of the game. It greatly adds to the game.

This is a creative, visually impressive, fun game for kids - I think the bad reviews are by gamers who play through as fast as possible in order to "beat the game" - but Spore is not that type of game. There are so many different possible combinations of creatures to be custom designed & evolved from a cell. Once evolved to a complex creature they become civilized and you take them though stages of civilization from tribal all the way up to space. Along the way you also custom create villages, buildings, vehicles, industry, etc for your creatures. You can conquer neighboring villages if you like a little bit of battle. My son is 10 & discovered this game from popular gaming youtubers, who also rated the game highly. The limited install issue is not that big of a deal - you're probably not going to need to install it more than 3 times & it's not an expensive game to get if you do.

This item is what it claims to be. A new DVD with both the PC and Mac release for EA's Spore game. It also requires an Internet connection to fully register after installation via your new or existing EA account. I'm not going to attack nor defend DRM (Digital Rights Management) in this review since the game does NOT make it a secret that an installation key, Internet connection and registration are needed for a successful and complete installation. Suggestion: When you first run this after installing, DO NOT download/install any updates; first register your install, then relaunch it and download/install all updates after that. We needed a Mac release and it installed fine and works fine on MacBook Pro w/ an SSD and 8GB RAM w/ OSX v10.7 (aka Lion). Finally, this game can be played w/o an Internet connection. This is what my daughter asked to do in the car (no Internet connection) each afternoon while we drive home after summer daycamp (her reward for straight A's & A+'s last year :-). So we know it works.
