Cannot recommend them enough!
Love these things! They are so useful for a variety of purposes. I got these to store not just files, but to cover in fabric for out-in-the-open storage. They look great on shelves, dressers without mirrors, buffet furniture, etc., so long as they're covered in fabric or something. Being a nurse, I have a lot of experience with file archives and these are definitely comparable to the commercially made containers. They're very sturdy, are easy to put together and I think the price here makes them a great value.

Would definitely purchase again.
I ordered these bankers boxes with a little reservation as to how sturdy and strong they would be. When they arrived, we put one of them together and I filled it with file folders. It is easy to handle even when full of file folders for storage. The slots on the sides make it easy to pick up and move, and the boxes seem to be the perfect size for storing file folders - not too big, not too small.

Excellent Value and Utility
I purchased these to store some files that I have in my attic. The boxes fit file folders very well. The capacity of the box is very nice. The construction of the box is solid and even with heavy items in the box I was not worried about the boxes breaking. I was able to use many of the boxes to move into my dorm room at college. They are very well sized to move around. You must assemble the boxes, but this was very easy to do. The instruction are printed on the box, and do a good job to explain the assembly. After I had assembled one box I was able to assemble the rest without looking at the instructions. My one complaint is that the perforation to make the inner sides of the box and part of the bottom was a little difficult to remove by hand. I was able to use a knife and this made the process much easier. The perforation to build the lid and remove it from the rest of the assembly was not difficult at all to tear. Overall I recommend these boxes for anyone needing a useful file storage solution, or for someone who needs boxes for moving.

Modular storage on the cheap
These are an excellent storage alternative. To the people who complained these fell apart . . . what they heck were you doing with them?!!! I have packed them full of books and lifted them by the handles with no problem. They are very sturdy and I have some that have lasted me twenty years! I've made myself a modular system to sort and store almost everything. Cut them down to any level, tape the top edge, and stack away. Use all that wasted space from shelf to ceiling in your closets, under your beds, etc. You won't find a cheaper, more customizable alternative.

Very sturdy---great for temporary storage
I actually bought these boxes because I am in the process of donating many books to charity, and wanted an easier way to carry them than plastic bags or unwieldy cardboard boxes without handles. I don't know how they would stand up to longer term storage, but for my purposes they are nearly perfect---the cardboard is good quality, the boxes are easy enough to put together, and even with a full load of hardcover books inside, I haven't yet had a problem with stability in walking them down to my car. I don't know if I would use them for long-term storage, just because cardboard isn't really designed to be a survivor vs. things like plastic totes, but if I need more boxes for book donations, I will be coming back to this product!

Wonderful Product
I loved these boxes so much I ordered another set of 12 after filling up my first 12. I am a teacher and when I was moving classrooms a few years ago, a colleague donated a few to help me move some heavy books and papers. I am moving to a new house now and I have a lot of items that need to be packed in something sturdy and easy to transport (handles). These boxes were the first thing I thought of. I have used them not only for packing up an extensive book collection (and of course my files and extra papers) but also for breakable items, heavy or bulky kitchen appliances, and items I need to have quick access to during the packing/unpacking process. They are easy to put together and come in a box that is perfect for transporting posters and pictures AND storing wrapping paper and other items.

GREAT FOR STORAGE, TRANSPORTING STUFF, COLLEGE STUDENTS
If you are familiar with file folder boxes aka bankers boxes, this is exactly the product you are looking for. If you are unfamiliar with these boxes, they are excellent for storage. File folders fit perfectly, but we also use them for general storage. We use these boxes for storage all over our house. Our spare storage closet is piled sky high with these boxes. They are also excellent for storage in regular closets and under (elevated) beds. In addition, we use them for transporting belongings to and from college. Labelled boxes make unpacking super easy. Since the boxes flatten, they can easily be stored under a bed. Alternatively, leave some assembled, toss a sheet over the top and voila! Makeshift table. PROS: — easy to assemble — sturdy — piles sky high with 450 pounds stacking strength — easy to label — very versatile — good size — easy to carry, handles optional CONS: — Be aware that the price fluctuates widely on all quantities of these bankers boxes. If you don’t like what you see, come back in a few days and look again. — When you change the contents of the box, you already wrote on it. I know of no easy fix for this, but you do have two sides you can write on. Over time, this leads to a lot of crossing out and rewriting. — Lids are like socks in the dryer. If you get enough of these boxes, over time you will find that you unfathomably have more boxes than lids. No clue how this happens.

Great, sturdy boxes
I bought these a while ago to file away important papers and some less important odds and ends. PROS: + Easy to read and understand instructions right on the box + Sturdy enough to hold a large amount of papers + Hanging files fit inside them perfectly + Fit in the Ikea Hemnes shelf perfectly! + The top fits the box well! CONS: + I don't like how they look on the outside, but that is personal preference and I could easily change it

awesome easy boxes worth it
I simply love the functionality and practicality of these boxes. We are using them for a move, and honestly, we are no longer spring chickens. Who wants to lug around large, heavy boxes? I'm saving my back, and the convenience of lifting the lid is so nice! The size, ease of assembly, make moving much more manageable. My photo is of empty boxes we just put together. We plan on stacking a couple of them onto a Dollie when we load and unload the truck. Since they're not over sized, we won't be hurting our backs or overloading the weight. Highly recommend!

excellent product - very sturdy - good value
I am in the process of moving hundreds of books and needed boxes that were sturdy but not too large that I would not be able to lift the contents (as a senior female). These storage boxes are ideal! Hard cover books can be heavy, of course - but these boxes do not strain under the load - extremely sturdy and an excellent value for the price. I bought 3 packs - no imperfections. They are easy to assemble (standard set up) - with easy descriptive drawings to follow along if you are not sure. The directions are not on visible on the outside of the box or lid after assembly - just clean, professional markings to write on to indicate what is in the box. I would consider these professional grade boxes - good for a commercial/office application.
