Bought as a gift for my husband, and he loves it. He plays it all the time.

First bass and I am satisfied, came with only one blemish on the edge of the body.

My son had originally chosen a different bass but I wasn't crazy about the amount of reviews (7) or the info included. This model had 27 reviews and most were positive. On Christmas morning my son was so pleased with the fact it was a "Dean", and he has enjoyed playing it very much! I was very happy, the guitar was perfect, beautiful, shiny and was delivered so promptly. I must admit when making the purchase I was taking a shot in the dark, I am beyond happy with my choice!!

A GREAT acoustic/electric bass for the money. I'm a long time acoustic and electric guitar player and this is my first bass. I chose an acoustic because I mostly like to relax on my sofa and play around new riffs or song ideas. Unless an electric bass is amplified it is nearly impossible to hear, whereas this one is perfect. In the month I've owned it I've messed around with it enough to become a minimally passable bass player. It has made me focus more on melody and the relationship of notes to each other in a way that strumming my acoustic guitar has never done. The strings are a little buzzy, but I hear bass guitars are like that, and really it's not a major problem. I have only plugged it into an amp once and worked fine but I can't speak to much to that electric aspect. I mostly bought an acoustic/electric "just in case" I ever need to amplify it. I would recommend this bass.

I use it a lot to practice rather than my electric bass. It sounds good unplugged which is how I like to use it.

Awesome, love it. Delivery was quick but soon after we ralized that the neck was bent to the degree where we were unable to adjust it so it doesn't generate string buzz. We called Amazon and great as they are they've taken care of it. Nice guy at customer service shipped a whole new guitar overnight to us. He also included free return label so we can ship the bad one back. New bass is nice and shiny and sounds great in acoustic as well as with my amp. Great deal, I mean just great.

As nice a guitar as any I've owned and I've owned dozens. You do need to change the strings to flat wound strings to eliminate string screech.

I am very happy with the overall appearance and playability of this bass. I was not expecting much for the price. I recommend this for beginners or anyone who wants an acoustic bass to fart around with. Thanks Dean!

I really love my acoustic-electric bass. I don't know what other people are talking about when they gave negative reviews- I was right not to listen to them. The sound is perfect and if the frets buzz it's because the string needs to be pressed down harder. There is no defect in the neck or strings or bridge. The strings do not need to be changed! They sound great. There was an allen wrench inside my bass when it came.. but that's ok. A major problem I HAVE had is that there is only one peg on the bottom to put a shoulder strap on.... the other peg is not installed. I have not fixed this and I don't know if this has happened to anyone else. The body is beautiful. I have never plugged it in to test the 'electric' part so I can't review anything about that aspect. I thought this bass was a great buy, very inexpensive for a quality instrument. I play it all the time and the acoustic sound enables me to learn and grow in a new and efficient way. You can even play chords as you would on a guitar. I was not disappointed with anything about my bass except the missing peg for the shoulder strap. I had a hard time deciding whether to buy this 4-stringed bass or the 5-string electric acoustic Dean bass but now I know I will buy the 5-string too because they are such quality guitars. Some people claimed the body was very large but it is not much larger than a normal acoustic guitar in the body. I am a small lady at 5'2" & 118 lbs but I can play my bass just fine; the bass is not oversized for anyone.
