Lid still lifts a little but worked great for us - very easy to install and remove
This worked well while we needed it. It was very easy to install (no tools necessary) and also easy enough to remove for cleaning or travel (but not so easy that my toddler could figure it out). When I traveled with my daughter, I took it off and took it with me so that I didn't have to worry about her getting into the toilet wherever we were. It did take someone else a few minutes to figure out how to open it so make sure to tell your guests if it is on. It's very easy you just lift the little levers and remove the lock but too complicated for a toddler. You can still lift the toilet lid a tiny bit with the lock on so if your child really wants to, she can probably still shove something in the toilet but it will take enough extra work that you should have to time to catch her before she flushes it.

Great product, low cost and easy installation
I was worried that my daughter would have trouble unlocking this to use the toilet but no issues. She is now 8 and I could see a smaller child perhaps needing some help. On the positive side, it does as needed and keeps my 13 month old from lifting the toilet lid. It opens easily when you pull both tabs in simultaneously. Installation was very easy and the company even offers a video to show you how. The product is light weight and kinda cheap feeling but we've had it for over a month with no problems. I would recommend this product for it's use and price.

Perfect... Keeps Toddler Safe and Clean
I got this product after my one year old discovered that there's water in the toilet and kept trying to play in it. It's amazingly simple but effective at keeping her out. My daughter is at that age where she feels that she has to join me in the bathroom but now I can quickly close the lid and flip the tab up... she'll fiddle with it some while I wash my hands but she quickly loses interest and walks away. No more meltdowns from dragging her away from the toilet bowl! Installation was very easy as well.

Best for curious toilet tots.
There is not a large selection first of all for this kind of product on Amazon. However, after seeing and trying out other brands I know that this one is the more favorable one. PROS: Easy to install, i.e. did it with my daughter watching me and trying to "help" within three minutes while not reading the directions. Parts do not hang into the toilet..gross. Easy to unlatch even with one hand, does not interfere with the actual use of the toilet. =), My toots can not figure how to open the lid, thus she now leaves it alone! CONS: Does leave a small amount of space, that if your child was very determined, might be able to slid you smart phone or small set of keys in. But this has to be a very determined child. Still kinda gross having this stuck to the toilet bowl, but a better choice compared with the other brand that stick more into the toilet and are hard to use.

Great Lock!
I like that this lock only requires one hand to open it, and that it doesn't require adhesive. I returned another design because I was worried if the adhesive would stay stuck when the toilet tank sweats during the summer--no worries about that with this one. The lock fits the toilet rim very snuggly using the various parts they provide to specialize the fit to your toilet. In response to the dim-wit who put a bad review up because someone broke her toilet seat, maybe an intoxicated person at a party shouldn't be your gauge for how easy it is to use the lock. I installed this on the toilet and thought it would be fun to see how long it took my husband to figure out how to open it...no fun at all, because he took one look at it and saw how it worked, had it open in 10 seconds. I thought this design might get dirty quickly since it fits around the rim, but it stays amazingly clean.

Ideal for Households with Children of Different Ages
When installed securely the Lid-Lok is ideal for households with different ages of children, some of whom need access to the toilet. I have an in-home daycare. I needed a toilet lock that my potty-trained children could open and close easily. I also had problems with other models that had to be installed at the back of the seat and prevented the toilet lid from staying open, or could actually even break the seat if installed incorrectly. Some that were too hard for older children to open would just get ripped off by the ones that got frustrated. I tried ones that used double-sided tape and many of them would not stick hard enough to the bowl to be effective. The Lid-Lock is even less expensive than some other models that do not work as well. Of course, no child should be left unattended in the bathroom and a strong toddler could probably break this off if given enough time with it. I would recommend using this lock as a secondary security measure to keeping the door of the bathroom closed when not in use. Children should not be left in a bathroom unattended.

Works great with a little modification.
These work great with a water-curious two year old grandson, who just recently discovered that toilets are an easy to access water source. We have two toilets of different dimensions, and the lid-loks installed easily on both of them. I came up with my own fix for the gap that results when the lid is lifted. I cut out some pads from a pair of 98 cent flip-flops from Walmart, and contact cemented them onto the locks. One toilet only needed one, and the other one needed a double-stack. This modification turned a 1" gap into a 1/4" gap. The manufacturer should consider including spacer pads in the package. I have attached a photo.

Don't Put Off Buying a Toilet Lock
I have these at my house, and I love how easy they are to put on and take off if you need to. Simple, not permanent, and not hugely cumbersome. More importantly, this is quite possibly one of the best investments you will ever make. I am a property manager, and I have seen some hefty bills come through for people who didn't get something like this. One kid flushed a tube sock that got caught in the cast iron sewer line. A plumber actually had to cut out that section of line and replace it because the sock was so snagged. HUGE bill. I've seen multiple toilets have to be replaced because of stuff getting flushed and caught inside (hair clips, makeup compacts, etc.). If you are contemplating a toilet lock, DO IT. Then buy some for your friends/family.

Easy to use, works like a charm
I bought this because my son started playing in the toilet water and I wanted to deter him from doing that. This worked! It's a very simple lock that doesn't fit the rim of my toilet perfectly, but it prevents my little man from sticking his little fingers in the water or any toy that he happens to be carrying at the time. If someone leaves the latch unlocked, my 17 month old will come and close the lock, because it is just that super simple to close. He is unable to get the lock opened once it is locked and as such, he has lost the appeal of the toilet water and tends to go for the pets water bowl instead. Lol.

they would install quickly and easily but the stick on portion would never last and ...
We tried a couple of different toilet seat locks before we settled on this one. We had some stick on versions that never worked for long, they would install quickly and easily but the stick on portion would never last and they would end up falling off and flapping around. This lock in mechanical meaning there is no sticky tabs or spots to come off. The lock attaches over the rim and holds to the inside lip on the toilet. It was easy to install and includes plastic shims to insure a proper fit on the toilet rim. After it is installed it does still mover around so i can be moved when cleaning the toilet which is nice because if it did not move I do not what to know what would be under it. However this movement does allow the lock to sometimes get under the little foot on the bottom of the lid causing it to rock, but it is easily moved out of the way. The lock secures the lid and the double point lock keeps our some from opening the lid and playing / flushing this down the toilet. He actually likes to flip the lock over and lock the lid, he does not relies that he is locking himself out.
