I had doubts about this working...but I was completely wrong. My water was cloudy with a very fine misty haze...my filter including polishing element could not clear it up. I added the API and within 90 min. the water was crystal clear. I love it when a product does what its supposed to.

Miracle in a Bottle

I have a small 2.5 gallon tank that I've been unable to keep crystal clear for some reason despite having two filters. I was a bit leery of this product, mainly due to the comments from people whose fish have died after using the product. I have two goldfish and a Corydoras catfish. When I first put the product in the tank, the catfish went nuts, swimming up and down the sides of the tank. I should give a caveat here--the fish was nuts before I added the product, so this is normal for him. The difference is that he was going twice his normal speed. I felt sure that I had killed him. He calmed down eventually to his usual state of pandemonium, and within two hours, the water was crystal clear. In all my years as an amateur fish hobbyist, I have never seen a cleaning product that worked this well. I'm interested to see how long it works. However, for now, I'm a very happy camper--and so are Alonzo, Cornelius, and Boss the Catfish. :)

Wonderful if right for you

I have a great pump and uv light but still had cloudy-ish water. Used this as directed and made sure to test my water first to make site my levels were right for it as other comments have said. My water is crystal clear like the first day i filled it and i could be happier.

W O W!!!!! I recieved it today at 3pm and applied it around 4pm.... its 9pm and the old cloudy water is now crystal clear!!! Amazing! Plus it only take a tinyyy bit so it is an amazing price for an amazing product it is going to last me a long time! Thanks!

Can i give this 100 stars?!

I've been using Api for my tanks for well over 17 years and i would never change their products for any other brand in the world. That said the Api Accu-Clear should become a staple in any aquarium/fish tank cabinet because you will never find anything that will work better than this. First off for reviewers that complain about the Api Accu-Clear READ the instructions and be PATIENT. Accu-Clear on average depending on how cloudy your water is, the chemicals/products you have used in the water, the fish, the set-up, the quality of water in your area, the size of your tank, the type of filter you are using,+++ in my experience for a 6 gallon tank for example you will see the water change within 30 minutes and its not a "good" change, it becomes even cloudier and for the first 12h it pretty much stays like that. I know you are going to worry about your fish DON'T they are fine. I know you are going to want to add more chemicals, etc. DON'T just wait everything will be fine. And most importantly i know you are going to want to do a water change be it 25% or 50% or the whole thing DO NOT do that either just be PATIENT and wait!! After about 15h or so you should start seeing your tanks water clear up but you will not see results until at least 24-36h again depending on everything i mention above. I have tried multiple times throughout the years to use other brands but without exception each and every one of them have failed miserably simply put they just won't work! I trust Api products with my eyes closed, i would highly recommend them to everyone and i definitely will be buying them for as long as i own tanks.

I have a 45 gallon fresh water tank. Just a cap full of this will clear the water within a few hours. This product makes my tank water look amazing!

Finally a product that really works

I bought this along with few other items to clear the water and this one finally worked. I don't know why the fish tank keeps on getting dirty even though I was changing half water frequently. I used this once a week and within a day after use, water became crystal clear

Like a miracle on my algae-water tank

Ever since I used a vacation feeder in my 10-gallon tank (one of those white pyramids) my tank has gotten more and more cloudy with floating green algae. It was a filterless tank with lots of plants, and nothing I did would fix it. I tried installing a shade on a nearby window to limit excess light, I tried weekly 1/3 water changes, I tried getting some cherry shrimp to help eat the algae, I even tried buying a filter to help remove the excess nutrients in the water. Nothing helped. It was still so cloudy that I couldn't see more than an inch into it. Bought this stuff because another reviewer's "before" picture looked just like my tank, and all the "anti-algae" drops said not to use them with shrimp. Used on Saturday and within hours I saw a noticeable difference, but 24 hours later it hadn't really improved much more, so I put in a second treatment. Yet another on Monday. It's now Tuesday, the 4th day, and I put in a double dose this morning (for a total of 5 doses) because I felt like I had a pretty good handle on how much gunk it cleared out each day, and now that it's afternoon, my tank is almost completely clear. It's like a miracle. I've got six male guppies, an uncountable number of little snails, and probably around a dozen tiny red cherry shrimp (that are very good at hiding) and all are still alive and well.

It works right away

I have an outdoor overground little pond, the water suffered from tree leaves decaying in the water and I couldn't get rid of the murky water until I used this product, I put it in the evening and the water was clear in the morning the next day. My fish are happy and I am really happy with the results. Now though my ping is covered with a mesh umbrella to save me the same trouble it experienced before.
