simple, but not too easy as a game, takes multiple times and thought. Good learning/teaching tool for problem solving. Not hugely entertaining, but my son does find it challenging and plays it a lot.

I've loved The Learning Company games since I played them as a kid and I am collecting them to recreate an educational computer I had as a kid. I was engaged and learning and if they've brought any of these older ones into the new age, I recommend those. But I have not found them yet. The product from the seller is in great condition imo.

the boys I bought this for love this game. Actually this is a replacement for the one that was missplaced. they do not seem to tire of it and their math skills have improved because they actually try harder to solve the problems that they have to solve in order to move forward in the game.

It was everything I remembered it to be. It was already on our first used computer and when it crashed I did not know how to get it. It is very frustrating and exciting at the same time. It will not only teach you patience but the math too. I first played it when I was home from being gone over the road for weeks and needed to unwind, it did not help me unwind but it did keep me "wound up" like all truckers are anyways. I'm now 60 and it still is a great game to play. It is great for kids learning their math and it even gives you a little on screen calculator to use for the problems. It is a 5 star game for sure and not something you can complete in just a couple of hrs by a long shot.

We discovered Operation Neptune when our kids were young and it was just released. WHAT a JOY! Math made fun for kids and parents alike! Fast forward.... son now at college overhears others commenting about this awesome math game they use to play. How cool the graphics, music and play kept them enjoying the math they were performing, but couldn't remember the name... yep.. operation neptune! What a hoot to now find copies of this game still out there! and they work on windows XP! If you haven't had an opportunity to play... don't hesitate. This game is a must for all teens, and parents will enjoy the mental workout too.

Works excellently so far on the following: Windows 95 Windows 98 Windows XP Windows 7 32-Bit Only

I used to play this game as a kid...many moons ago :). So I bought it for my kids. Nice, classic game to have, teaches math as well. My kids got a kick out of it.

In this game, you are a submarine sort of thing. You get to navigate your way through the ocean reefs to find little message capsules that will eventually lead you to a ship that needs assistance (?). I have never finished the game, but then again, it takes a long time. It's lots of fun, though. You have an air supply, and every time you hit a fish, or something shooting from a fish, or certain plants and parts of the 'walls', then you loose air. You get air at the beginning of every level, and you can get extra if you touch a dolphin with an air pack on its back. Every once and a while you will have to answer a question, most (all?) of the time involving math. If you get it wrong, you loose air. Also, you have ink balls to throw at fish and plants that with keep them away from you while you go past. As the levels progress, it's harder to navigate to get all the capsules, the math questions are harder, and there are more difficult fish you have to get by. So it's not a character or adventure game, it's a learning game, but it's fun. I can't really say the age level of the game, considering everyone is different, but I'd say between 11-14 years of age this game is best for. (p.s. I was 14 years old when I wrote this review. I enjoyed it for years!)

When my daughter was 9-12 years old she loved this game. It's a game of levels, of underwater mazes to negotiate. There are math problems interspersed throughout the game but the navigation of your mini-sub is just as educational. Many underwater chambers and passages require problem solving, logic, geometry, and an understanding of physics. This isn't an arcade game at all. Well worth it if you have the older OS, although I've heard it works with newer Windows versions. It works on XP.

This game is wonderfully educational and almost addictive in its plot style. I played this game in elementary school as a girl, and wanted to pass it on the the next generation. I would recommend this game for any family.
