I live in Iowa and the winter months are brutal to my skin! I have a back scratcher near by all the time. My back is extremely dry and I can't personally reach the part of my back that itches all the time. I was leery of purchasing this because of some of the reviews and photos showing poor quality of the ropes at the end of the scrubber after a few uses. I used this in my shower this morning and now I'm wondering why I haven't tried this before! One of the sides is a little rougher than the other side, and thats the side I decided to use first. It was amazing, like a personal back scratcher!! I didn't hold my grip on the ropes, I just gripped the ends and it was easy to use. I can how gripping the ropes to wash your back or hang from the shower could wear down the stitching, so I've decided its probably best not to use the ropes at the end for any purpose. I know that may seem like a inconvenience, but it's a minor one compared to the relief of dry skin I now have! If you think about it, the ropes on luffas, along with the material, come apart after extreme use. I'm also writing this review at 5 am if that tells you anything about how much I love this product!! I also just used regular Dove moisturizing body wash.

This product saved my life. Okay, I am exaggerating a bit but not much. Most exfoliating products are too rough. I remember the days of the loofah and it made my skin red and scratched. This is a gentle exfoliating cloth and hangs to dry easily and doesn't get moldy. I returned from a lovely stay in the hospital with something that looked like alligator skin or fish scales caused by steroids and fluid retention. I used this scrubber faithfully along with shower gel that is homemade with no harsh chemicals and only gentle ingredients by a friend who makes her own toiletry and cosmetic products from the milk from her goats. They might delete this but her small family business is called Rose of Sharon Acres. I am glad I found this product online and would encourage them to market their product more widely. Maybe my friend would like to carry this product as they go so well together.

It didn't seem all that rough when I took it out of the packaging. I had my doubts. But a couple of uses later and my skin is soft and smooth as a baby's. As for the people who complained that the scrubber got mold on it....if you store this wet, in a wet shower, of course it's going to get mold on it. That's not the fault of the product. It's the fault of the user. Hang it up on your towel bar so it can dry between uses. Common sense, folks.

My wife first bought one of these several years ago from a local specialty store. We hung it in our shower and used it constantly with great satisfaction. It's super good for two handed back scrubbing and really gets the job done. All good things must come to an end and our original purchase finally wore out. Imagine my surprise and pleasure at discovering that I could buy a replacement from Amazon? I am so enamored of this simple but highly functional bath aid that I bought several and gave them to family members as xmas gifts. This little gem is a winner.

I love it, absolutely love it. Sometimes with a regular back brush, I don't feel like I've thoroughly scrubbed my back or it still itches (dry skin). This wonderful item has a soft fabric side and a rougher side. I'll just say it. It feels good, even better than someone scratching your back because you can get to the exact spot and "scrub" it as you wish. Cleans easily and doesn't beat against the side of the shower when you hang it up.

I'm here to get another one. How can I not love this thing beyond all measure? 9 years of constant use. Back, upper arms, elbows. It would still be fantastic if I just re-sewed the part where the rope is kept. Never had any kind of mold or disgusting issues with it. I've always had it hanging to air dry after every use. There are people who complain about little bumps, like goosebumps, on their upper arms. Well, I haven't had a single one in 9 years because I use this scrubber. Believe me when I say that after nearly a decade of tough use, this thing has been amazing and I'll be loyal to this scrubber until they no longer exist. Maybe I should order two, just in case in another 10 years they're gone. VERY highly recommend!

I went out on a whim and bought this after years of trying and failing to deal with and fade scarring on my back from acne due to medication. It has affected my self confidence for as long as I can remember but this product is truly life changing. I can’t imagine not having this! It makes my skin so smooth and exfoliated and I have noticed the slight fading of my scarring. The rougher side can be quite harsh but there is a softer side if you have sensitive skin. I’m excited to see the long term results but for now, best thing I’ve ever bought!

I was skeptical of this versus a back brush, even with the high percentage of positive reviews, but now I'm glad I bought it. Like I hoped, using this is easier on the shoulders than a brush, and the rougher side has just the right amount of abrasion. It took a couple of uses to figure out how to efficiently soap it up and rinse it, but that wasn't really an issue. It dries completely and has not developed any odor.

There are many types of loofahs, mitts and even brushes available on the market for exfoliating your back, but I have never been entirely happy with those types of products. It is often difficult to cover your whole back efficiently, or to avoid aggravating your skin with a product that is too rough. You also tend to end up with strained arms trying to reach those hard to reach places! A little short of a couple of years ago, I saw the Aquis Back Scrubber advertised on Amazon.co.uk and decided to give it a try. I was very pleasantly surprised with my purchase and I think that the key is the design of the product. It has a generous length and in combination with the loop on each end, it allows you get a really proper grip. The strip itself is not too wide (which prevents it folding over on itself) and the material is flexible so it can be moulded quite comfortably around your features. It is also double sided, with a more coarse material on one side (my favourite) and a more gentle on the other. It does take a little practice to learn how much pressure to apply and it is probably easier to use in a shower as you can balance better while standing. I generally tend to soak it a little before use and to use it with shower gel to help it glide. I also rinse it with hottish water directly after each use, but this product can also be cleaned in a washing machine which means it is very hygienic. As for negatives, none at all really excepting the fact that the coarse side can be quite abrasive if you are too enthusiastic, but that is more down to my own technique! I have since bought a number of backups from Amazon.com in case the product was discontinued and I wouldn't be able to get it again. Overall I am very happy with the back scrubber and I would have no problem recommending it. A great product at a very reasonable price, well designed and made of good materials. Definitely a happy customer.

Great in the shower, great for an itchy back. This also works wonderfully to apply lotion to the bottom of the foot and heels for a person with impaired mobility. Just apply the lotion to the middle, See photos. I wondered if this would work and it is great.
