My son loves this game! It's designed so much better than the others that he has (and he has Disney kindergarten Bundle, Clifford Thinking Adventures, and Franklin). While other games are entertaining (especially Franklin goes to school), Jump Start World has way more games than other CDs and the graphics are great! My son is currently on the second module and I am definitely getting the rest for him. He can play for hours and even though the game only has the first 2 units on the CD, it's still more than other CDs offer. And the need to get the lessons mastered to progress to the next level really makes him learn!

jump start world kindergarten runs excellently with my vista operating system. it is more interactive and better than previous versions. my child loves it! and it is giving him a "jump start"!

Jumpstart World is one of those games for kids that make me remember back to my childhood. I'm a big videogame player and growing up i recall playing learning games in school like Math Blaster, or Oregon Trail. I got the chance to demo JumpStart World and wow, i'm just blown away. Educational games for kids have come such a long way from when i was in school playing them. Theres just so much content for kids to tackle, math, spelling, arts and crafts, owning pets, and just exploring the world. I think that's the best part about this game- it's that it finds a way to make it all FUN. I really do wish i was lucky to have played this growing up, and i highly recommend it for kids who are excited about learning!

I started searching the net for preschool software after being sorely disappointed with LeapFrog's Clickstart computer. I wanted my son to learn how to use a mouse and keyboard but the Clickstart was simply too easy for him. I stumbled across this game while searching here on Amazon. I went to their website and downloaded the free trial and tried it out before I let my son play it. It took me over 2 hours to complete all the learning games and that was only playing each one once, and obviously I was speeding through them much faster than a child of the recommended age would. This convinced me that the title would provide many hours of fun for my son, so I decided to let him try it. He LOVES it!! Now, he's just shy of 3 so not quite yet preschool age, but he picked up on the controls immediately. He is able to navigate with the arrow keys perfectly while walking around the world and in the learning games. In the games that require the mouse, he still needs my assistance in moving the mouse but he is all too eager to point out or say the answers and I click on them for him. (Working on finding him a child-sized mouse to alleviate this!) Everything about this game entrances him. The graphics, the sounds, the adorable characters and voices, everything is top notch and he feels like a big boy playing games like mommy and daddy, and the best part is, he's learning at the same time!!! The joy on his face when he gets new gems after completing a game is priceless. One slight gripe of mine is that they didn't disable the windows key, so my son will accidentally hit it once in a while, minimizing the game. He doesn't yet understand how to bring the game back up but I'm always sitting right beside him when he plays so I fix it for him before he gets annoyed. I love that you can create your own custom certificates to reward your child for their progress. Each time they receive a super gem, they can go to their mailbox and receive a certificate that you make on the parent website. I do wish they could receive the certificates more often because I have a feeling it will take my son at least a few weeks to earn a super gem but we can reward him in our own ways in addition to the super gems. I also love that the program keeps track of your child's progress and emails you frequently about how they're doing so you know what they need to work on. You do have to pay for the additional adventure packs (8 bucks each) which is a bit steep. I wouldn't have had much issue if they were a few bucks cheaper, but the way I see it, there are so many activities for him here that buying him a new adventure pack for 8 bucks every month is much cheaper than buying him another full priced game that will only hold his attention for a few days. I highly recommend downloading the trial. It lets you play all the way through the first adventure and will give you a good idea of what to expect. If nothing else, let your child play the trial for a few weeks and if they master the first area, you can then make the decision if you want to purchase the full game. It's a steal for 20 bucks, in my opinion!!

My 4 1/2 yr. old daughter absolutely loves this game. It's truely the best computer game I've ever bought for her. I like how it follows the National and State educational standards. Not only is it educational, there are many fun things for her to play with as well. After you play the learning games, you're rewarded with gems that can buy fun things to do in the Jump Start World. For instance, you can buy a pet and accesories to go along with it (food, shampoo, bows etc..). Along the way there are many friends you can talk to. Some will ask you to play hide-n-seek or have a race with them. There are many different activities to engage in at different stages in the game. There are also different badges to earn that involve team work, friendship, etc. There is a place on the right handside at Amazon where you can get a preview of the game. I recommend doing that so you can get a better sense of what the game is about. The only down side is that there are 12 units in all, but only 2 are included with the CD-Rom. You have to purchase the remaining ones. They can be downloaded from the Jump Start website each month for $7.99.

Jump Start Kindergarden is an awsome program. My Grandson is 4 years old and has had many hours of enjoyment and has learned so much!!

My daughter absolutely loved this game. She just turned 5 in April & couldn't get enough of this game. It helped her w/her reading & math. I couldn't be happier with this product.

We firmly believe that computer games have a place in our kids education. I have tried many series: Reader Rabbit, Big Thinkers, Smart Start, other JumpStart... This is the best product out there. It is well rounded in its introduction to values, manners and varied kindgergarten skills. My 5-yr old is intrigued by all the "responsibilities." Raising plants, caring for pets, giving others gifts, earning gems to buy items to help others... She is excited to know what her next "badge" will be and what new area of the world she'll open up. I do however have to limit her. She would play this all day.

We purchased this program for my daughter (from our wholesale club not here) and we could not be happier. My 4 1/2 year old has started Kindergarten and this is a really nice balance for her...she can do it all and it seems to grow to challenger her as well. Additionally my middle son (7 years) also loves to play with it and has even asked if they make one for 2nd grade (guess that is our next purchase!). I dont know what the others are talking about with the "subscriptions" we have not seen anything about that and have played it a bunch! I am wondering if there is an extended version that we bought...not sure. Either way we are very pleased with the quality of this program!

I can not say enough wonderful things about jumpstart. I home schooled my kids for kindergarten so I bought them this to help out and make learning fun. They LOVE it! They don't even know they are learning. It is fabulous. If you have dial up you will need to get the off line version which works just as well! My daughters look forward to getting their super gem and earning those keys. It's a big event in our household. I would recommend this to anyone. My girls are now in first grade and still come home from school eager to play! You must buy this!
