and it's perfect. He's also used it in pretend play for ...
First one, I bought over a year ago to use in bunk beds. Too dark to read in a bottom bunk, so my 8 year old clips this on the bed, and it's perfect. He's also used it in pretend play for various things and still in perfect condition. We read books every night and I've only had to change the batteries once. When my daughter got a loft bed, I purchased this one for her (she would often steal her brother's). Again, she clips it right on the bed and it's a perfect reading light. She also uses it with friends when they make slime videos or she clips it on a binder when she's doing homework for extra light. This will be the only reading light I buy for now on.

SUPER BRIGHT and last a very long time with same batteries
I came on here purposely to write a review after finding this flex light again and using it regularly now. I was using the Fulcrum Laterna Touch for years as I really liked the small size, look, and touch feature. But the led's in the unit started to become very dim no matter if I used new batteries. So I found my Flex Light in one of my drawers and was amazed how much I missed it. After having such a dim light for so long I was amazed how bright this little flex light was. It only has 1 LED compared to the Touch that has several. This one tiny LED lights up so much that I wonder why its not used on the Touch? I have had the Flex going on fours years now and I maybe changed the batteries once if that? It's still working great and can't believe how long this thing last! I use it every day, not much, but out last the Touch countless times over. If you need a multipurpose light that last forever then look no further. It so small and light and the flex part of it makes it that much better. You can twist this light to so many angles it just does so much most othes lights can't do. Plus don't let the size fool you, you will get plently of light from this small unit. More light than many others twice, triple its size. And you won't be replacing the batters all the time either. One of my best buys from my countless little gadgets I own. Had to come and review this awsome light even after owing it for some years now. It's worth it.

It doesn't "eat" batteries like some lights do
I read a whole lot, and mostly paperbacks. This light is very bright, but not glaringly so. It doesn't "eat" batteries like some lights do, and it uses easy to find AAA batteries, which was a major concern when I bought it. Nothing is worse then having to hunt down $15 batteries and going to three different stores trying to find them for your finicky little reading light. The neck holds its spot when you bend and angle it. The light is the perfect level of brightness. The clip is strong and holds on. The only issue I've had with it is that I typically use it before bed and with paper backs. The weight of the base of the light on a paper back tends to make the light move or pull back the portion of book it is clipped on. Because of this I started just clipping the light on something nearby and angling the light so that it shines on the book and that works perfectly for me. ~*~Edit/Update~*~ Over 3 years later and still my favorite little reading light - still works perfectly, still doesn't drain battery life, still sturdy clip and flexible neck. Super happy with it!

nice little book light
I purchased this light for my son so he could read in bed without turning on the main overhead light. It had pretty good reviews and I figured that for under $10 it wouldn't be a big deal if he managed to destroy it or if it wasn't all that great. Once she saw it in action, my daughter decided she had to have one as well! (She has this same light in raspberry rather than silver). This nice little light clips to their headboards. They've had no problems with it not staying in place. The flexible neck lets them place the light where they want it. Being kids, they are constantly moving the light around. Even after several months the "neck" and the clip are still in good shape. It's bright enough to read comfortably and without eye strain but not so bright as to disturb others. It has a simple sliding on/off switch on top of the light, which is powered by 3 AAA batteries.

This could be a good thing so I don't want to leave a negative ...
It's VERY bright!! This could be a good thing so I don't want to leave a negative review. I bought this so I could read in bed and not disturb my husband, but it lights up the whole room! I taped a little mesh fabric over the light and that helped a lot. If you need bright light, this is your product!! The clip is perfect for my books and my kindle. I even clip it to my bedside table when I read a paperbook and it stays on perfectly.

Purchased for baby co-sleeper
Didn't actually use for book light...at all. We had a baby and used a co-sleeper, though it quickly became a glorified changing table at night and baby has never actually slept in it at all. In order to help not turn on too many lights to wake the baby too much if he needed changing overnight, I got this book light and it was PERFECT. I clipped it onto the side of the co-sleeper and kept the projection of the light to his waist and below so I can see what I'm doing and baby doesn't get exposure to too much light. My sister-in-law is a mother of 4 and never thought to do this. She saw my setup and said she's going to tell allllllll her friends to do this, too, or even herself in the future if she has another. :) Though, I must say, I'm sure this is good as a book light, too. ;)

Cheap but does the job well
This is a cheap LED book light. It didn't cost much, and it isn't much but that's okay. The adjustable neck is easily positioned unlike some of the other cheap clip-on types and, to me, that and the clip actually clipping on to something well is pretty much all you look at because a LED is a LED. My 2nd-grader carries this around, going from his lap desk to clipping it on the headboard of his bed, bringing it to his mother when she's reading something and doesn't have enough light. It's sufficiently bright to read with (that's the point of it, after all) but not so bright it can't be adjusted/angled so that it's not creating a distracting glare off white pages.

A great product with longevity
I’ve had this book light for almost a year and a half now and I absolutely love it. It’s the perfect size, not too heavy so my paperback books don’t bend (still have to clip it on a small chunk of pages), and when the battery is new, it’s perfectly bright enough. And the spread of the light is perfect, the bendable neck makes it super easy to turn it to where my reading is focuses, though when placed right, I don’t need to move it at all. A longer battery life would be lovely, but that’s not really an issue with the product. If the battery lasted another week, I’d still ask for longer batt life. lol Who wouldn’t?? I have two of these, one upstairs and one downstairs, and I’ve had equal luck with both of them.

After 3 plus Years ..Perfect
Have tried almost every other light on the market. I have used these lights (3 of them in family) every night for over 4 years with no failure! The case holding the 3 batteries is a little large, but no big deal. It is the price you pay for having longer lasting batteries. The positive is that it lasts longer.or from 30 minutes to an hour for over 3 years without failure. We have four of them and only had one failure with a flickering light. They work best for hardcover books but I use them with paperbacks by grabbing a few extra pages with the clamp to stiffen the support.. I, unlike others find the light good for one page at a time and just give a quick tap to read the next page. I have done this for years without any wear on the arm. It takes a little bit of time to get used to using it this way, but no big deal. It is the price you pay for having longer lasting batteries. A good trade-off IMHO. Two had a neutral tint and one was blueish. Because there is only one LED and 3 AAA batteries the charge lasts me about 2-4 weeks before dimming. I Highly recommend the Eneloop batteries by Panasonic with a "smart charger." You can get a pack of 8 and a charger package on Amazon. The batteries are about $2 each but mine have lasted for more than 4 years! If you get the batteries and charger you will never run out of having a charged battery and you can, of course use the batteries for many other devices. A little spendy at first, but it is more convenient and it saves money. Who wants to go out at 10PM to get batteries? The light is very useful for doing mechanical work and repairs in tight spots with the clamp. My wife uses hers for needlepoint Who thought a cheap light would be so useful and dependable?
