Really a 4.5 star review Very sturdy. I don't get any ladder "walk". The padded feet make this ladder stand out amongst others I looked at. I kind of like, but sometimes don't the treatment of top. I find the magnet a nice addition, but I feel like the top has too many holes. Most times I use the ladder top as a tray for bits and screws. I'm always dropping stuff through the damned holes. The second largest hole has the bad habit of un-chucking my quick chuck bits in my impact driver. Here I wish this hole was larger as I commonly using a drill and an impact driver when I'm on a ladder. I'm envious of Werner's snap in container system. I bought the 6' and feel like it's a great value. What I need is an 8', but the jump in price isn't logarithmic.

I bought one for me and one more for my neighbor. I had borrowed their step ladder to take my shutters to paint them. I’m only 5’4” and 125# But that expanding metal cross bar rivets had rusted out--didn’t notice it. So I bought GOOD ladders for both my neighbor after all I had broken it and one for me! Works great...KEEPING this one in back tool room---no rusting through from wet weather although I doubt if it would. Snaps in tightly--great!

After many years, my six-foot ladder and three-foot stool both became so unsightly (the stool was rusty, as well) that I finally decided it was time for a change. I bought this five-foot ladder to avoid replacing two products (the ladder and the stool) and had it delivered to my home by Amazon.com since my car is too small to transport either product home from the "hardware" store. I am pleased! I bought the ladder because of its safety specifications. It is light-weight and stable, and the height is perfect for my needs. I read in some of the reviews of ladders that the product sometimes arrives dusty. This ladder was reasonably clean but did have dust on some of the steps and grooves -- as if it had been sitting in a warehouse. It had a few tiny dings -- nothing major -- similar to the kind of dings I would expect to see at my local hardware store for this kind of product. I weigh about 120 lbs and can't carry heavy objects easily. I am very, very careful when using ladders or stools. I follow all recommended safety practices; I like this ladder and feel safe carrying it and using it. Anyone who ignores safety guidelines is not safe on a ladder or stool, so you should know that my recommendation is only valid if you use the product as recommended. Safety first!

Was delivered on 1/20/18 and to be honest never had a Louisville ladder before but have to say that the first thing I noticed was how well it was made. Would definitely purchase a Louisville ladder again if the opportunity presented itself again. Bought this for my wife and she loves it! Great product especially the top which has a whole bunch of options for tools and such.

The 8-foot ladder arrived in perfect condition (delivered by Pilot Services). It's the perfect height to reach my gutters and just in time before the Florence rains get here. It's not very heavy unlike the two Little Giants I own and I don't have to fight to open/set/close it for storage like the LG. It feels very sturdy and well constructed - double rivets on the rungs. I've not used it for painting or any construction work yet so I can't say how well the fittings on the top plate work, but I have little doubt that they will perform and come in handy. I would recommend, but not loan this ladder to a friend - they never bring them back! Have a great day!

I purchased this ladder to pair up with an all aluminum Gorilla 2ft ladder I already own in order to build a platform to span between them so that I can have something stable to stand on while trimming in my ceilings when I'm painting. Previously I used an old coffee table to stand on and it was so comfortable to work on and I could cover more area before having to get down and move the table but the table it heavy and I need a little help to move and position. I can move the two ladders and platform alone. Anyway I've compared the two ladders side by side and I like the construction of this ladder a lot more. The top step of this ladder is also a tad bigger so if you ever need to stand on the very top you'll feel more secure. I'd buy this ladder again. I'll be in the market for an 8ft ladder soon and I'll most likely purchase this brand.

I am a woman in her 60's and I am fit. I can move this ladder around the yard easily.

Super sturdy ladder although a bit heavy. Comes wrapped in plastic with a sticker on it so it has a few dings right off the bat but it's a ladder and it's gonna get paint etc on it so who cares. There's a great paint can indention on the very top so you don't really need the paint can holder they sell as an option.

Excellent Ladder in every way. Despite its size, it's very stable with an especially beefy foot design. Nothing flimsy at all. Love the tool top design as well. I prefer a five foot ladder such as this many times over a 6-footer because it's easier to clear the top while working at heights between 5 and 8 feet. Very happy to find that this ladder works well with my Jet Rack. If I had any issue at all, it was that the rungs had some dark wear marks that appeared to be left from manufacturing or shipping but I took some steel wool to them and they shined right up in no time. Always good to find a product that exceeds expectations! Nice work Louisville!

I'm glad I went for the more expensive sturdier ladder. I'm a petite 71 year-old active woman who will never reach the 300 lb. weight limit on this ladder! I thought it might need weight for added stability, but not so! Sturdy on uneven surfaces as well on even ones and carpeting. Fortunately I have a one-story house because I can clean the outside of windows from the fourth step on this ladder--no problem. Even resting the bottom on uneven soil I was able to balance and hand-wipe the window cleaner into a nice polish. Climbed up with my hose in tow and blew out debris in the gutters. Indoors, the ladder is easy to maneuver and move around corners and through doorways. I just fold up the ladder, turn it sideways and put it over my shoulder and proceed to the next project. Top of the ladder has wells for putting small items like screws and nails and held them very well. There are wells for screwdrivers, even a pencil-length well! The hole at the top of the ladder was handy for inserting the drill and holding it there, even when moving the ladder. Indispensable! Worth going for the best.
