Our hamster Speedy LOOOOVES these! They're like hamster crack! Nom nom nom nom nom!!! We give her one each night when she starts to get active and run around her cage and jump on her wheel. The kids play with her in the evening and the treat routine is something everyone looks forward to. If we hold a strawberry drop out in our hand, she comes out of the cage door to be held. It's a winning item in our house! Speedy recommends these with her hamster enthusiasm. :)

* 10/2018 Update. The family hamster is now two years old and is thriving! I have no more concern about the small sugar content of these drops. He still loves them and is the sweetest little fellow. He deserves these goodies. Our new hamster loves these, but I didn't realize until they arrived that there's sugar content in them. Sugar for hamsters? Because of that, I'm not comfortable buying this product again, even though they're hamster-appreciated. The little guy is now 5 months old. He only gets about 2 per week and seems very healthy, so maybe the small amount isn't a big deal. Still...

My little hambone loves these treats. He runs right to them and digs them up when I bury them in his habitat's bedding. The price on Amazon is about 1/2 what I see in the big pet stores, so you really can't go wrong with this product. It's good to have a nice treat for my little fuzzy guy that he likes and that I don't have to pay too much for either.

As someone else mentioned, if you order these (like any baking chip) in the summer then be prepared for most of the drops to be melted together. No worries for me since the drops are so large I had to break them into pieces to be small enough for my robo dwarf hamsters anyway. These drops have a sticky powdery quality to them which sticks to my fingers, which leads my hammies to smell my fingers and think "food! NOM!" It's a big downside for me because I used these as special taming treats when I first got my roborovski hamster sisters, to get the robos to come into my hand and learn to trust me, so it was really difficult to keep the treat residue off the rest of my hands so the girls wouldn't nibble on me. These are basically sugar & fat so they're really not great health wise, but I do think these are good as an occasional treat or as that special taming treat and recommend them for those reasons. Hey, I can't eat a blah fortified diet with no treats, and I personally can't expect my hamsters to, either. Since my robos are tame now and one of the sisters is getting a bit chubby (from me mistakenly giving her unrestricted access to millet sprays, she loves millet too much), I only use these yogurt drops to rub onto wood chew toys that the hammies aren't otherwise interested in - that sticky powdery residue of these drops comes in handy for this use. SIDENOTE: I also have the Kaytee Fiesta strawberry yogurt chips which the robos like just as well, and also leaves a residue on my yummy fingers, but the Kaytee chips have two kinds of partially hydrogenated oils in it as the 3rd & 4th ingredients in the list. Partially hydrogenated oils have trans fats which in humans makes our blood platelets sticky, leading to heart disease - no amount of trans fat is healthy for us humans. I don't know if it has the same effect in hamsters but I'd rather not find out. These Vitakraft drops use palm oil so they do not have trans fats, and I do prefer these Vitakraft drops for that reason.

My dwarf roborovski hamster, Fizzgig, loves these! And I love watching him hold it in his little paws and nibble away, (see pic). I only give him one once or twice a week since his breed is prone to diabetes. But, when they're almost gone, I will definitely order more!

My Syrian hamster loves yogurt drops but sugar seems to be the first or second ingredient. I give him it maybe 2-3 times a week and normally he would eat it or pouch it and save it for later but he seems to be so happy when I give it to him. I wouldn't recommend this for a diabetic prone hamster as the sugar content is a little high.

I was very excited for my hamster to try these (she loved!), but they were melted upon delivery, so I had to freeze them and then break them into pieces. It's not the brands fault! Just remember to feed these to your hammies in moderation!

We like this product very much. So do the hamsters, of which we have three. It is a favorite treat, and although we sometimes give a whole drop, we more frequently break them up. They can break fairly easily with fingers, although it's a little messier. You may want to use a knife, should you want to make them smaller. We have two winter white dwarf hamsters and one Chinese dwarf, which is partly why we don't give the whole thing too often. If I had a Syrian, I'd probably just give the whole thing. While we do like this product, and we ordered it via Amazon the first time, we have subsequently purchased it locally. We got it in the summer, here in northern Virginia, and it had melted and re-hardened into a large chunk. We broke off pieces, which worked okay, but it wasn't ideal. Since that doesn't have to do with the quality of the product, I did not factor in the condition we received it into my rating, but it is something to consider when purchasing an item like this by mail. I do not feel the seller nor the manufacturer is at fault, per se, but perhaps they should consider not offering it via post, or warning potential buyers.

So, we had a hamster and he was an amazing escape artist. I would use these to lure him out so I could catch him when he would break out if his cage. My dogs LOVED these. They would try to eat the Hamsters snack! I finally started giving them to my older dog as a treat. Her energy level would dramatically improve for the next 24 hours after eating a large handful of these. Now, I purchase Lady (the older dog) her own bag!
