Works great for small objects! My favorite thing to put inside is some water. It's incredible and nobody can believe what they're seeing! Be very cautious, the mirrors will scratch from just about anything. I used a damp cloth to wipe the mirrors off as the instructions say, and still scratched the entire mirror. I ordered an extra one because of other reviewers saying the same thing. My sister and grandparents and friends have all loved it! For $7 it's worth five stars. If they charged $20 it would be a different story. If ur looking for a fun toy for adults or children, I recommend this completely!

I saw one of these about 40 years ago on a vacation with my parents. I remember being amazed by it at that time. I was probably about 9. I had really wanted one. When I saw this on Amazon for under $10, I decided to get one both for myself and to show my children. There are much more expensive ones and I was concerned that my sub $10 one would have an issue. But the reviews were good so I gave it a go. It DID NOT disappoint. The optical illusion is very cool and very convincing. It's small size and simple black exterior makes it a non imposing addition to any decoration and an interesting conversation piece for those who have not seen one of these. The coolest thing is the short mental disorientation when one tries to touch the frog and your finger goes right through it.

Awesome! I am a physics teacher and this is one of the best, most inexpensive demonstrations that I do. It always blows their minds! As other reviewers have stated, the frog is a big large and sometimes the head gets cut off because it's too far from the feet, which are located precisely at the focal point of the top mirror when the frog is resting on the bottom mirror. A penny or nickel works much better.

I still can't get over how many people walk into my office and try to touch the frog. Most of them haven't figured out how the illusion works and I haven't enlightened them. I didn't really expect it to work as well as it did when I bought this toy, but I've got to admit I'm impressed with it. The frog does look as if he's sitting on top of the dome. It is hard to believe he isn't really there.

What you get in the package: the same things they say in the description; nothing more and nothing less. You get the two concave mirrors, well made, in a plastic that probably will not stand high falls (not ABS plastic), but not too flimsy either. The mirrors are of good quality; they are smooth and don't have bumps or noticeable optical aberrations; even if they do, they do what they say. If the problem is that you get too tired of the produced effect, that's your problem. The device generates the effect and does it well enough ('well enough' means you have to view the device from a certain angle, to view the frog reflection instead of the real frog). It may have some issues for this matter but what comes in the package is suited to show the desired effect, as announced. They do not say it will keep you mesmerized or anything like that, just that you will see the reflection as if it was the real thing, and it does that. About a previous comment about being a fire hazard, I believe this could be a serious issue, but in my case, I keep it in its box, and only take it out if I want to play with it, so it does not get exposed to light unintentionally.

Looks great! The frog that comes with it is pretty much at the limit of what size it can image. Even that is a little distorted at some viewing angles. Something like a small flower, or sunflower seeds look great from more angles. What's nice is you just put something in it that you want to appear like it's floating in the air, put on the top half, and you're done. No maintenance- no batteries or things you have to keep spinning.

You can tell a lot about a person by the way they approach an unknown object. I put this on the counter to amuse customers. Some of them are intrigued and try to figure it out. Some people are just amazed at the illusion. But the majority of people...I don't know, they start attacking it. They literally swat at the hologram, and for the life of me, I can't figure out why. It's hilarious. I had to cover it up the viewing hole and put it on a shelf so no one would break it. The illusion is cool. Works great with small objects, about the size of a quarter at most. I tried to wipe down the mirrors, and they scratch really easily. Be careful.

I was so happy to see it works. I had never seen this before. Even though I had put the frog INSIDE, I still had to try to touch it on the outside since it looks so real! You can put ANY small rubber object in it! [Not metal] Be careful to not touch the mirror. I mistakenly bought two of these, but now I'm happy I have two to give to both grandsons, since each would want to touch the others'. The magic is in the shape of the concave mirrors. Thank-you!

The mirascope is something I've wanted to get since I was a little kid, so I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it could be had for a few bucks online. The product is simple and light, which was to be expected with the price point. The reflective surface is easy to scratch, so a bit of care is needed. All that being said, the illusion works quite well with a small object placed right at the dead center. Other than the included plastic frog, rings and coins seem to be the best fits.

This is a fun, unique thing to put on your desk at work to amuse the visitors. It comes with the little froggy, but coins and other (very) small knick-knacks work too. I like to put a few M&M's in it.
